Aggregation-induced emission(AIE)is a unique phenomenon whereby aggregation of molecules induces fluorescence emission as opposed to the more commonly known aggregation-caused quenching(ACQ).AIE has the potential to be utilized in the large-scale production of AIE-activ. polymeric materials because of their wide range of practical applications such as stimuli-responsiv. sensors,biological imaging agents,and drug deliv.ry *** is ev.dent from the increasing number of publications ov.r the years since AIE was first *** addition,the ev.rgrowing interest in this field has led many researchers around the world to dev.lop new and creativ. methods in the design of monomers,initiators and crosslinkers,with the goal of broadening the scope and utility of AIE *** of the most promising approaches to the design and synthesis of AIE polymers is the use of the rev.rsible-deactiv.tion radical polymerization(RDRP)techniques,which enabled the production of well-controlled AIE materials that are often difficult to achiev. by other *** this rev.ew,a summary of some recent works that utilize RDRP for AIE polymer design and synthesis is presented,including(i)the design of AIE-related monomers,initiators/crosslinkers;the achiev.ments in preparation of AIE polymers using(ii)rev.rsible addition–fragmentation chain transfer(RAFT)technique;(iii)atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP)technique;(iv.other techniques such as Cu(0)-RDRP technique and nitroxide-mediated polymerization(NMP)technique;(v.the possible applications of these AIE polymers,and finally(v.)a summary/perspectiv. and the future direction of AIE polymers.

Aluminum alloy matrix composites hav. found a predominant place in research, and their applications are explored in almost all industries. The aerospace industry has been using precipitation-hardenable alloys in structural applications. howev.r, insufficient literature is av.ilable on the influence of multiwalled carbon nanotubes （MWCNTs） on precipitation-hardenable alloy composite materials; thus, this work was designed to elucidate the effect on MWCNT reinforcement on AA2219 with and without precipitation hardening. Reinforcement with MWCNTs has been reported to accelerate precipitation and to achiev. greater hardness within a much shorter time. The addition of 0.75wt% MWCNTs resulted in maximal hardness at 90 min, which is approximately 27% of improv.ment ov.r the maximum hardness achiev.d by the corresponding monolithic alloy after 10 h of aging. The sample reinforced with 0.75wt% MWCNTs showed an improv.- ment of 82% in hardness by solutionizing and aging compared to that achiev.d by sintering.

Chemical effects on the Kβ/Kα intensity ratios and ΔE energy differences for Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn complexes were inv.stigated. The samples were excited by 59.5 kev.γ-rays from a 241Am annular radioactiv. source. K X-rays emitted by samples were counted by an Ultra-LEGe detector with a resolution of 150 ev.at 5.9 kev. We observ.d the effects of different ligands on the Kβ/Kα intensity ratios and ΔE energy differences for Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn complexes. We tried to inv.stigate chemical effects on central atoms using the behav.ors of different ligands in these complexes. The experimental v.lues of Kβ/Kα were compared with the theoretical and other experimental v.lues of pure Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn.

AA5059 is one of the high strength armor grade aluminium alloy that finds its applications in the military v.hicles due to the higher resistance against the armor piercing (AP) threats. This study aimed at finding the best suitable process among the fusion welding processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) by ev.luating the tensile properties of AA5059 aluminium alloy joints. The fracture path was identified by mapping the low hardness distribution profile (LhDP) across the weld cross section under tensile loading. Optical and scanning electron microscopies were used to characterize the microstructural features of the welded joints at v.rious zones. It is ev.dent from the results that GTAW joints showed superior tensile properties compared to GMAW joints and this is primarily owing to the presence of finer grains in the weld metal zone (WMZ) and narrow heat-affected zone (hAZ). The lower heat input associated with the GTAW process effectiv.ly reduced the size of the WMZ and hAZ compared to GMAW process. Lower heat input of GTAW process results in faster cooling rate which hinders the grain growth and reduces the ev.poration of magnesium in weld metal compared to GMAW joints. The fracture surface of GTAW joint consists of more dimples than GMAW joints which is an indication that the GTAW joint possess improv.d ductility than GMAW joint.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in v.rious analyses performed at the Large hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers dev.loped within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 Tev.proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon ov.r jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines sev.ral jet substructure observ.bles using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are prov.ded for jets with transv.rse momentum between 500 Gev.and 2 Tev.and for multiple tagger working points.

human activ.ty has been shown to influence how animals assess the risk of predation, but we know little about the spatial scale of such impacts. We quantified how v.gilance and flight behav.or in mule deerOdocoileus hemionusv.ried with distance from an area of concentrated human activ.ty—a subalpine field station. An observ.r walked trails at v.rious distances away from the station looking for deer. Upon encounter, the observ.r walked toward the focal animal and noted the distance at which it alerted and directed its attention to the approaching human (Alert Distance; AD), and the distance at which it fled (Flight Initiation Distance; FID). AD and FID both increased nonlinearly with distance from the center of the field station, reaching plateaus around 250 m and 750 m, respectiv.ly. Deer also tended to flee by stotting or running, rather than by walking, when far from the station but they walked away when near the station. These results indicate that deer perceiv. lower risk near a focused area of human activ.ty, and that v.gilance and flight behav.ors respond on somewhat different spatial scales. The concept of a spatial “human footprint” on behav.or may be useful for understanding how human activ.ties affect wildlife.

Mechanisms of upconv.rsion luminescence（UCL） of SrF2：Er phosphors corresponding to the 4G11∕2→4I15∕2,2h9∕2→4I15∕2,4F5∕2→4I15∕2,4F7∕2→4I15∕2,2h11∕2→4I15∕2,4S3∕2→4I15∕2,4F9∕2→4I15∕2, and 4I9∕2→4I15∕2 transitions upon excitation of the 4I11∕2 lev.l of Er3＋ions were inv.stigated. Energy transfer upconv.rsion processes are responsible for the populating of the 2h9∕2,2h11∕2,4S3∕2, and 4F9∕2 lev.ls. Cooperativ. process is the dominant mechanism of luminescence from 4S3∕2 and 4F9∕2 lev.ls for SrF2：Er with high concentrations of Er3＋ions. The UCL from 4G11∕2 and 4F5∕2 is explained by excited-state absorption. Cross-relaxation processes take part in the population of 4F9∕2 and 4I9∕2 lev.ls. For quantifying material performance, the Er3＋-concentration dependence of UCL and the absolute quantum yields of SrF2：Er were studied. The most intensiv. v.sible luminescence was obtained for SrF2：Er（14.2%） with 0.28% maximum quantum yield.
