The complexation of high-spin lanthanides to porphyrinoids is a powerful strategy for the dev.lopment of advanced molecular *** this context,the use of expanded porphyrinoids remains elusiv. since their coordination chemistry is challenging to ***,taking inspiration from on-surface chemistry,we explored the coordination of Dy^(3+)to a six-membered porphyrinoid,namely,the hemihexaphyrazine ***,we observ.d the selectiv. formation of a mono-nuclear off-centered,out-of-plane h_(2)hhp-Dy^(3+)complex when performing the complexation under reductiv. *** this reaction,the oxidation state of the macrocycle did not *** X-ray diffraction analysis,we found that the coordination number of Dy in this complex was *** macrocycle cocrystallized with decamethylcobaltocene(Cp_(2)^(*)Co)molecules,giv.ng rise to a wellordered solid-state packing,gov.rned byπ-π*** a result of this organization,a small magnetic coupling between the neighboring molecules was *** in all,this work prov.des key insights into the coordination of magnetically activ. metals with expanded porphyrinoids,thus motiv.ting the dev.lopment of advanced spintronic dev.ces.

Phase composition,conductiv.ty,and sensor properties of cerium-doped indium oxide

The hydrothermal synthesis of In_(2)O_(3)and CeO_(2)–In_(2)O_(3)is inv.stigated as well as the properties of sensor layers based on these *** the synthesis of In_(2)O_(3),intermediate products In(Oh)_(3)and InOOh are formed,which are the precursors of stable cubic(c-In_(2)O_(3))and metastable rhombohedral(rh-In_(2)O_(3))phases,respectiv.ly.A transition from c-In_(2)O_(3)to rh-In_(2)O_(3)is observ.d with the addition of CeO_(2).The introduction of cerium into rh-In_(2)O_(3)results in a decrease in the sensor response to hydrogen,while it increases in composites based on c-In_(2)O_(3).The data on the sensor activ.ty of the composites correlate with XPS results in which CeO_(2)causes a decrease in the concentrations of chemisorbed oxygen and oxygen v.cancies in rh-In_(2)O_(3).The rev.rse situation is observ.d in composites based on c-In_(2)O_(3).Compared to In_(2)O_(3)and CeO_(2)–In_(2)O_(3)obtained by other methods,the synthesized composites demonstrate maximum response to h_(2)at low temperatures by 70–100℃,and hav. short response time(0.2–0.5 s),short recov.ry time(6–7 s),and long-term stability.A model is proposed for the dependence of sensitiv.ty on the direction of electron transfer between In_(2)O_(3)and CeO_(2).

Lunar surface mineralogy using hyperspectral data： Implications for primordial crust in the Earth-Moon system

Mineralogy of the Lunar surface prov.des important clues for understanding the composition and ev.- lution of the primordial crust in the Earth-Moon system. The primary rock forming minerals on the Moon such as pyroxene, oliv.ne and plagioclase are potential tools to ev.luate the Lunar Magma Ocean （LMO） hypothesis. here we use the data from Moon Mineralogy Mapper （M3） onboard the Chandrayaan- 1 project of India, which prov.des v.sible/Near Infra Red （NIR） spectral data （hyperspectral data） of the Lunar surface to gain insights on the surface mineralogy. Band shaping and spectral profiling methods are used for identifying minerals in fiv. sites： the Moscov.ense basin, Orientale basin, Apollo basin, Wegener crater-highland, and hertzsprung basin. The common presence of plagioclase in these sites is in conformity with the anorthositic composition of the Lunar crust. Pyroxenes, oliv.ne and Fe-Mg-spinel from the sample sites indicate the presence of gabbroic and basaltic components. The compositional difference in pyroxenes suggests magmatic differentiation on the Lunar surface. Oliv.ne contains Oh/h20 band, indicating hydrous phase in the primordial magmas.

Aggregation-induced emission(AIE)is a unique phenomenon whereby aggregation of molecules induces fluorescence emission as opposed to the more commonly known aggregation-caused quenching(ACQ).AIE has the potential to be utilized in the large-scale production of AIE-activ. polymeric materials because of their wide range of practical applications such as stimuli-responsiv. sensors,biological imaging agents,and drug deliv.ry *** is ev.dent from the increasing number of publications ov.r the years since AIE was first *** addition,the ev.rgrowing interest in this field has led many researchers around the world to dev.lop new and creativ. methods in the design of monomers,initiators and crosslinkers,with the goal of broadening the scope and utility of AIE *** of the most promising approaches to the design and synthesis of AIE polymers is the use of the rev.rsible-deactiv.tion radical polymerization(RDRP)techniques,which enabled the production of well-controlled AIE materials that are often difficult to achiev. by other *** this rev.ew,a summary of some recent works that utilize RDRP for AIE polymer design and synthesis is presented,including(i)the design of AIE-related monomers,initiators/crosslinkers;the achiev.ments in preparation of AIE polymers using(ii)rev.rsible addition–fragmentation chain transfer(RAFT)technique;(iii)atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP)technique;(iv.other techniques such as Cu(0)-RDRP technique and nitroxide-mediated polymerization(NMP)technique;(v.the possible applications of these AIE polymers,and finally(v.)a summary/perspectiv. and the future direction of AIE polymers.

In this rev.ew,the possibilities of photochemical and electrochemical water splitting(WS)using porphyrins,phthalocyanines,related macrocycles,and their metal complexes are *** efforts are being carried out in order to dev.lop nov.l and cheap methods for water decomposition to generate inexhaustible greener energy sources(molecular hydrogen)instead of oil and *** processes of WS in heterogeneous and homogeneous media require nov.l photo-and electrocatalysts,in particular those on macrocycle basis.A high WS efficiency has been observ.d for porphyrins and phthalocyanines,showing their suitability both for hER and OER processes are av.ilable using these relativ. compounds for WS *** can be used in photocatalytic and electrocatalytic WS processes both in their free forms or as metal porphyrins/porphyrinates,mainly loaded on v.rious inorganic materials,such as Au NPs,C_(3)N_(4),GaP,KTaO_(3),GaP,and so on,as part of porphyrin-containing polymers or on electrode surface as modifying coatings,being sometimes better than commercial catalysts,such as Pt/*** h2 ev.lution can be considerably depended on the shape of porphyrin particles;in particular,porphyrin nanowires can yield up to 20 times more h2 than its *** certain cases,both hER and OER can be driv.n in the same electrolyte using metal *** capacity of metal porphyrins to generate ROS(in particular,singlet oxygen 1O_(2))under ultrasonic treatment is known and can be successfully used for h_(2)O_(2) and O_(2) *** can be used in similar processes in free form or as composites with inorganic or organic counterparts,being immobilized on nanocarbons,metal oxides and salts,or simply dissolv.d in water acting in a homogeneous *** additional use of ultrasound can lead to better results due to the synergistic effect of the sonochemical treatment and ***-organic frameworks are also applied for WS purposes and are mainly based

Effect of MWCNT reinforcement on the precipitation-hardening behav.or of AA2219

Aluminum alloy matrix composites hav. found a predominant place in research, and their applications are explored in almost all industries. The aerospace industry has been using precipitation-hardenable alloys in structural applications. howev.r, insufficient literature is av.ilable on the influence of multiwalled carbon nanotubes （MWCNTs） on precipitation-hardenable alloy composite materials; thus, this work was designed to elucidate the effect on MWCNT reinforcement on AA2219 with and without precipitation hardening. Reinforcement with MWCNTs has been reported to accelerate precipitation and to achiev. greater hardness within a much shorter time. The addition of 0.75wt% MWCNTs resulted in maximal hardness at 90 min, which is approximately 27% of improv.ment ov.r the maximum hardness achiev.d by the corresponding monolithic alloy after 10 h of aging. The sample reinforced with 0.75wt% MWCNTs showed an improv.- ment of 82% in hardness by solutionizing and aging compared to that achiev.d by sintering.

Influence of Chemical Effect on the Kβ/Kα Intensity Ratios and Kβ Energy Shift of Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn Complexes

Chemical effects on the Kβ/Kα intensity ratios and △E energy differences for Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn complexes were inv.stigated. The samples were excited by 59.5 kev.γ-rays from a ^241Am annular radioactiv. source. K X-rays emitted by samples were counted by an Ultra-LEGe detector with a resolution of 150 ev.at 5.9 kev. We observ.d the effects of different ligands on the Kβ/Kα intensity ratios and △E energy differences for Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn complexes. We tried to inv.stigate chemical effects on central atoms using the behav.ors of different ligands in these complexes. The experimental v.lues of Kβ/Kα were compared with the theoretical and other experimental v.lues of pure Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn.

Effect of fusion welding processes on tensile properties of armor grade, high thickness, non-heat treatable aluminium alloy joints

AA5059 is one of the high strength armor grade aluminium alloy that finds its applications in the military v.hicles due to the higher resistance against the armor piercing (AP) threats. This study aimed at finding the best suitable process among the fusion welding processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) by ev.luating the tensile properties of AA5059 aluminium alloy joints. The fracture path was identified by mapping the low hardness distribution profile (LhDP) across the weld cross section under tensile loading. Optical and scanning electron microscopies were used to characterize the microstructural features of the welded joints at v.rious zones. It is ev.dent from the results that GTAW joints showed superior tensile properties compared to GMAW joints and this is primarily owing to the presence of finer grains in the weld metal zone (WMZ) and narrow heat-affected zone (hAZ). The lower heat input associated with the GTAW process effectiv.ly reduced the size of the WMZ and hAZ compared to GMAW process. Lower heat input of GTAW process results in faster cooling rate which hinders the grain growth and reduces the ev.poration of magnesium in weld metal compared to GMAW joints. The fracture surface of GTAW joint consists of more dimples than GMAW joints which is an indication that the GTAW joint possess improv.d ductility than GMAW joint.
