Among electromagnetic methods of short-term earthquake prediction,an approach is being actively developed based on the phenomenon of magnetic ultra-low-frequency(ULF)power depression occurring a few days before an *** particular,a nighttime geomagnetic power depression in the band 0.03-0.05 Hz was observed approximately 5 days before the catastrophic Tohoku 2011 *** verify the reliability of this method,we performed an extended analysis using data from magnetometer arrays JmA,mAGDAS,PWING,and *** selected stations included sites close to the epicenter(m)and remote points(~10000 km).The band-integrated spectral power of nighttime magnetic noise decreased significantly from march 6-9,several days before the ***,such variations occur simultaneously not only at nearby stations but also at distant *** this event,the ULF power depression was caused by low global geomagnetic activity,as evidenced by the planetary index ***,the depression of geomagnetic ULF noise cannot be considered a reliable short-term precursor.

Purpose: Diet and eating habits are major risk factors for the health and the development of disease, such as, for example, metabolic disorder leading to cardiovascular pathology and cancer, decreased immunity exposing to infections. This study of the physico-chemical and nutritional properties of a soumara-based food broth was carried out with the aim of promoting the consumption of organic broth made from nere seeds (soumara). That is to alleviate certain metabolic diseases, which is a matter of food safety, and also to limit the risk for the health about the consumption of some cooking stocks on the market. methods: Several natural ingredients such as nere seeds (soumara), ginger, black pepper, parsley and garlic were used to create a nere-based stock. All these ingredients were freeze-dried and the powder obtained was used to make the broth, regarding their physical and chemical properties. Results: The broth had a good protein content of 17.41 ± 0.367 g/100g, a lipid content of 16.80 ± 0.08 g/100g and a fiber content of 8.66 ± 0.04 g/100g. In terms of nutritional values, the broth showed good levels of calcium 184.21 ± 0.09 mg/100g, potassium 50.04 ± 1.45 mg/100g and iron and zinc. In terms of antioxidant activity, the broth also showed good antioxidant activity. Conclusion: Regarding the properties of our food broth, whose composition is based on natural ingredients, could be recommended for consumption and, its properties, could play an important role in preventing and combating certain metabolic diseases.

The metabolic scaling in the animal has been discussed for over 90 years,but no consensus has been *** analysis of 2126 species of vertebrates reveals a signiﬁcant allometric exponent *** show that classes of terrestrial vertebrates exhibit the evolution of metabolic *** the allometric coefﬁcient“a”and the allometric exponent“b”change naturally,but differently depending on the geological time of group *** allometric coefﬁcient“a”shows the measure of the evolutionary development of systems that forms resting metabolism in *** classes,such as birds and mammals,have a metabolic rate that is in an order of magnitude higher than that in ectothermic classes,including amphibians and *** the terrestrial vertebrate phylogeny,weﬁnd that the metabolic scaling is characterized by 3 main allometric exponent values:b=3/4(mammals),b>3/4(ectotherms,such as amphibians and reptiles),and bmetric exponent is a natural phenomenon associated with the general evolution of *** scaling factor decreases depending on both the external design and the size(birds vs mammals)of the *** metabolic rate and uniformity of species within a class increase as the geological start date of for-mation of the class approaches the present *** higher the mass-speciﬁc standard metabolic rate in the class,the slower metabolic rate grows with increasing body size in this *** results lay the groundwork for further exploration of the evolutionary and ecological aspects of the development of metabolic scaling in animals.

Development of sorghum mutants with improved in vitro protein digestibility by CRISPR/Cas9 editing of kafirin genes

Sorghum(Sorghum bicolor(L.) moench) is a major world crop that is a reliable source of fodder and food grain in arid regions. However, unlike other cereals, sorghum grain has low nutritional value, owing mainly to the resistance of its storage proteins(kafirins) to protease digestion. Changing the composition of kafirins or their primary structure may address this problem. To induce mutations in kafirin-encoding genes that were expected to disturb their accumulation in endosperm cells, we used a genome-editing approach. By Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation of immature embryos of cv. Avans, we obtained 14 transgenic plants with genetic constructs for site-directed mutagenesis of the k1C5 and g KAF1 genes encoding 22 k Da a-and 28 kDa γ-kafirins, respectively. Sequencing of 5 regenerants obtained by using k1C5-addressing vector revealed two plants with mutations. T_1 progeny of these mutants had higher in vitro digestibility of endosperm proteins(86%–92%), in comparison with the donor Avans(63%–67%). The kernels of these plants had a thick vitreous endosperm. A mutant with increased in vitro protein digestibility and vitreous endosperm, carrying a mutation in the target sequence, was also obtained by use of the gKAF1-addressing vector. Thus, using genome editing technology, we have obtained mutants with improved kafirin digestibility that can be used in sorghum breeding.

Solar radiophysics is a rapidly developing branch of solar physics and plasma astrophysics. Solar radiophysics has the goal of analyzing observations of radio emissions from the Sun and understanding basic physical processes operating in quiet and active regions of the solar corona. In the near future, the commissioning of a new generation of solar radio observational facilities, which include the Chinese Spectral Radio Heliograph（CSRH） and the upgrade of the Siberian Solar Radio Telescope（SSRT）, and the beginning of solar observations with the Atacama Large millimeter/submillimeter Array（ALmA）, is expected to bring us new breakthrough results of a transformative nature. The marie-Curie International Research Staff Exchange（mC IRSES） “RadioSun” international network aims to create a solid foundation for the successful exploitation of upcoming solar radio observational facilities, as well as intensive use of the existing observational tools, advanced theoretical modeling of relevant physical processes and observables, and training a new generation of solar radio physicists. The RadioSun network links research teams from China,Czech Republic, Poland, Russia and the UK. This mini-volume presents research papers based on invited reviews and contributed talks at the 1st RadioSun workshop in China. These papers cover a broad range of research topics and include recent observational and theoretical advances in solar radiophysics, mHD seismology of the solar corona, physics of solar flares, generation of radio emission, numerical modeling of mHD and plasma physics processes, charged-particle acceleration and novel instrumentation.

Optical immersion clearing is a technique that has been widely studied for more than two decades and that is used to originate a temporary transparency effect in biological *** applied in cooperation with clinical methods it provides optimization of diagnosis and treatment *** technique turns biological tissues more transparent through two main mechanisms-tissue dehydration and refractive index(RI)matching between tissue *** matching is obtained by partial replacement of interstit ial water by a biocompat ible agent that presents higher RI and it can be completely rever sible by natural rehydration in vrivo or by assisted rehydration in ex vivo *** data to characterize and discriminate between the two mechanisms and to find new ones are *** a simple method,based on collimated transmittance and thickness measurements made from muscle samples under treatment,we have estimated the diffusion properties of glucose,ethylene glycol(EG)and water that were used to perform such char acterization and *** these properties with data from literature that characterize their diffusion in water we have observed that musde cell membrane permeability limits agent and water diffusion in the *** same experi-mental data has allowed to calculate the optical dearing(OC)eficiency and make an inter-pretation of the internal changes that occurred in muscle during the *** same methodology can now be used to perform similar studies with other agents and in other tissues in order to solve engineering problems at design of inexpensive and robust technologies for a *** improvement of optical tomogr aphic techmiques with better contrast and in depth imaging.
