A simple, rapid and sensitive high performance liquid chromatography （HPLC） method was developed for the determination of metoclopramide in pharmaceutical preparation. The method is based on the derivatization of metoclopramide with fluorescamine. The separation was achieved on a C18 column using methanol-water （70 ： 30, V/V） mobile phase. Fluorescence detector was used at the excitation and emission of 403 and 485 nm, respectively. The method was validated for linearity, limit of detection, limit of quantification, precision, accuracy, recovery, robust- ness and system suitability. The assay was linear over the concentration range of 100-2000 ng/mL. The mean recovery was 100.37%. The proposed method was successfully applied to the assay of metoclopramide in tablet preparation. The preparation was also analyzed with an official method and statistical comparison by t- and F-tests revealed that there was no significant difference between the results of the two methods with respect to mean values and standard deviations at the 95% confidence level.

A sensitive, simple and selective high-performance liquid chromatographic （HPLC） method was developed for the determination of ciprofloxacin in biological fluids. The method is based on the reaction between the drug and 4-chloro-7-nitrobenzofurazan （NBD-C1） in borate buffer of pH 9.0 to yield a highly fluorescent derivative that is measured at 535 nm after excitation at 464 nm. The calibration curves were linear over the concentration ranges of 25--3000 and 50--3000 ng·mL -1 for plasma and urine, respectively. The mean recovery of ciprofloxacin from plasma and urine was 98.37% and 98.40%, respectively. The method was found to be sensitive, precise, accurate, and reproducible. All of the validation parameters were within the acceptance range.

Hardaliye is a non-alcoholic beverage produced from red/black grapes by adding mustard seeds and lactic acid *** this study,it was aimed to determine the total phenolic content(TPC)and total antioxidant capacity(TAC)of hardaliye samples produced with three different grape varieties(Shiraz,Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon)before and after in vitro digestion,to determine their bioaccessibility,and to investigate their effects on reducing malondialdehyde(MDA)formation in meat *** decreased after in vitro digestion in all three hardaliye samples and their bioaccessibility values were 57.64%,41.54%,and 52.78%(for Shiraz,Merlot,and Cabernet Sauvignon hardaliye,respectively).After in vitro digestion TAC value according to the DPPH method increased in all samples and according to the CUPRAC method decreased in Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon hardaliye samples,while it increased in the Shiraz *** in vitro digestion,MDA value increased in control meat samples and decreased in the samples treated with hardaliye *** treatment with other beverages was effective in reducing the post-digestion MDA value of some meat samples,the hardaliye samples were more effective in reducing this value and the lowest MDA bioaccessibility(%)values were determined in those treated with hardaliye *** samples with the lowest values were meat doner 1 treated with Shiraz hardaliye(10.27%);burger patties 2 treated with Shiraz hardaliye(22.40%);and meatball 2 treated with Cabernet Sauvignon hardaliye(7.12%).These findings indicate that hardaliye has potential beneficial health effects and can be used for the design of healthy eating patterns due to its lipid oxidation reducing potential in the gastrointestinal tract.

Image quality in positron emission tomography(PET)is affected by random and scattered coincidences and reconstruction *** this study,we investigated the effects of scattered and random coincidences from outside the field of view(FOV)on PET image quality for different reconstruction *** was performed on the Discovery 690 PET/CT scanner,using experimental configurations including the NEMA phantom(a body phantom,with six spheres of different sizes)with a signal background ratio of 4:*** NEMA phantom(phantom I)was scanned separately in a one-bed *** simulate the effect of random and scatter coincidences from outside the FOV,six cylindrical phantoms with various diameters were added to the NEMA phantom(phantom II).The 18 emission datasets with mean intervals of 15 min were acquired(3 min/scan).The emission data were reconstructed using different *** image quality parameters were evaluated by both *** in the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)in a 28-mm(10-mm)sphere of phantom II were 37.9%(86.5%)for ordered-subset expectation maximization(OSEM-only),36.8%(81.5%)for point spread function(PSF),32.7%(80.7%)for time of flight(TOF),and 31.5%(77.8%)for OSEM+PSF+TOF,respectively,indicating that OSEM+PSF+TOF reconstruction had the lowest noise levels and lowest coefficient of variation(COV)*** and scatter coincidences from outside the FOV induced lower SNR,lower contrast,and higher COV values,indicating image deterioration and significantly impacting smaller sphere *** reconstruction protocols,OSEM+PSF+TOF and OSEM+PSF showed higher contrast values for sphere sizes of 22,28,and 37 mm and higher contrast recovery coefficient values for smaller sphere sizes of 10 and 13 mm.

Highly sensitive spectrofluorimetric method was developed and validated for the determination of gabapentin in pure and pharmaceutical preparations. The method was based on nucleophilic substitution reaction of gabapentin with 4-fluoro-7-nitrobenzofurazan （NBD-F） in an alkaline medium （pH 9.5） to form a highly fluorescent derivative that was measured at 521 nm after excitation at 458 rim. The factors affecting the reaction was carefully studied and optimized. The method was successfully validated for linearity, limit of detection, limit of quantification, accuracy, precision, robustness and specificity. Under the optimized conditions, linear relationship with good correlation coefficient （0.9998） was found between the relative fluorescence intensity and gabapentin concentration in the range of 10--100 ng·mL^-1. The limit of detection and limit of quantification were 0.43 and 1.30 ng·mL ^-1, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of gabapentin in its pharmaceutical capsules. The results obtained by the proposed method were comparable with those obtained by the official method. Statistical comparison by t- and F- tests revealed that there was no significant difference between the results of the two methods with respect to mean values and standard deviations at the 95% confidence level.

Background:Risk perception and COVID‑19 anxiety in pregnant women restrict access to health services,cause pregnant women to resort to alternative channels such as the Internet,and affect prenatal care quality(PCQ)***:The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of risk perception and COVID‑19 anxiety in pregnancy on decision‑making via the Internet(DMI)and PCQ with multivariate *** and Methods:This cross‑sectional study was conducted with 406 pregnant women selected using the convenience sampling method in a training and research hospital,in *** data were collected using the information form,the perception of pregnancy risk questionnaire,the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale,the DMI Scale,and the PCQ *** data obtained were subject to descriptive analysis and the multivariate analysis of ***:Approximately 24.9%of the pregnant women were found to have a high perception of risk and 18%had symptoms of COVID‑19 *** women with high COVID‑19 anxiety and a higher perception of risk perceived the Internet as less influential for decision‑making(P<0.05).Pregnant women with a high‑risk perception had lower PCQ(P<0.05).Conclusion:The findings can be used to enhance mental health and resilience in pregnant women and to formulate appropriate intervention strategies.

Recently, fluorescent sensors have attracted considerable attention in their sensitive and selective determination of heavy metal ions in the aqueous acidic medium due to their advantages such as low cost and easy handling. In this study, the bathocuproine (BCP) compound was used as a fluorescent chemosensor. The selectivity and sensitivity of BCP have been investigated against some metal ions of biological and environmental importance. The results obtained from the ultraviolet-visible region (UV-vis.) and the fluorescence spectroscopy experiments revealed that the BCP sensor showed selectivity and sensitivity only to Manganese (II) ions in the experimental conditions studied. In addition, the binding stoichiometry of BCP and Mn2+ was determined to be 1:1 by the Benesi-Hildebrand method.

Dravet syndrome is a rare epileptic encephalopathy characterized by frequent seizures beginning in the first year of life and behavioral disorders. Mutations in the sodium channel α1 subunit gene are the main cause of this disease. We report two patients with refractory seizures and psychomotor retardation in whom the final diagnosis was Dravet syndrome with confirmed mutations in the sodium channel α1 subunit gene. The mutation identified in the second patient was a novel frame shift mutation, which resulted from the deletion of five nucleotides in exon 24.
