DNA polymorphisms and genetic relationship among populations of Acacia leucophloea using RAPD markers

RAPD （randomly amplified polymorphic DNA） markers were employed to characterize polymorphisms among 5 provenances of Acacia leucophloea and to detect genetic relatedness of the species with 6 other acacias （A. holosericea, A. auriculiformis, A. mangium, A. dealbata, A. ferruginea, and A. nilotica） widely grown in India. Of 194 markers scored for the provenances, 29.38% exhibited polymorphism. Also, 326 markers were generated among 7 species of Acacia, accounting for 55.82% of the polymorphisms. The fifteen 10-mer primers employed were capable of producing 1-8 polymorphic bands for the provenances, and 6-17 for all seven species of Acacia. The genetic similarity coefficient based on Jaccard＇ s coefficient revealed that provenances Thirumangalam and Dharmapuri were closely related. The dendrogram based on a sequential agglomerative hierarchical non-overlapping （SAHN） clustering analysis grouped 4 provenances of A. leucophloea （Dharapuram, Thirumangalam, Pudukottai and Dharmapuri） into one cluster and the other provenance, Sendurai, into a separate cluster. The genetic similarity matrix for 7 Acacia species showed that A. nilotica and A. dealbata were distantly related, while A. holosericea and A. ferruginea were very closely related. Cluster analysis grouped the species of Acacias into 3 major groups of which A. dealbata alone formed a separate group. The RAPD markers generated 36 provenance-specific markers and 162 species-specific markers that could have strong applications for species identification and tree breeding programs for A. leucophloea and for other Acacia species included in this study.

Cooperative Intelligent Transport System(C-ITS)plays a vital role in the future road traffic management system.A vital element of C-ITS comprises vehicles,road side units,and traffic command centers,which produce a massive quantity of data comprising both mobility and service-related *** the extraction of meaningful and related details out of the generated data,data science acts as an essential part of the upcoming C-ITS *** the same time,prediction of short-term traffic flow is highly essential to manage the traffic *** to the rapid increase in the amount of traffic data,deep learning(DL)models are widely employed,which uses a non-parametric approach for dealing with traffic flow *** paper focuses on the design of intelligent deep learning based short-termtraffic flow prediction(IDL-STFLP)model for C-ITS that assists the people in various ways,namely optimization of signal timing by traffic signal controllers,travelers being able to adapt and alter their routes,and so *** presented IDLSTFLP model operates on two main stages namely vehicle counting and traffic flow *** IDL-STFLP model employs the Fully Convolutional Redundant Counting(FCRC)based vehicle count *** addition,deep belief network(DBN)model is applied for the prediction of short-term traffic *** further improve the performance of the DBN in traffic flow prediction,it will be optimized by Quantum-behaved bat algorithm(QBA)which optimizes the tunable parameters of *** results based on benchmark dataset show that the presented method can count vehicles and predict traffic flowin real-time with amaximumperformance under dissimilar environmental situations.

Genetic relationship between purebred and crossbred sow longevity

Background： The overall breeding objective for a nucleus swine selection program is to improve crossbred commercial performance. Most genetic improvement programs are based on an assumed high degree of positive relationship between purebred performance in a nucleus herd and their relatives＇ crossbred performance in a commercial herd. The objective of this study was to examine the relationship between purebred and crossbred sow longevity performance. Sow longevity was defined as a binary trait with a success occurring if a sow remained in the herd for a certain number of parities and including the cumulative number born alive as a measure of reproductive success. Heritabilities, genetic correlations, and phenotypic correlations were estimated using ***： Results indicated little to no genetic correlations between crossbred and purebred reproductive *** indicates that selection for longevity or lifetime performance at the nucleus level may not result in improved longevity and lifetime performance at the crossbred level. Early parity performance was highly correlated with lifetime performance indicating that an indicator trait at an early parity could be used to predict lifetime performance. This would allow a sow to have her own record for the selection trait before she has been removed from the ***： Results from this study aid in quantifying the relationship between purebred and crossbred performance and provide information for genetic companies to consider when developing a selection program where the objective is to improve crossbred sow performance. Utilizing crossbred records in a selection program would be the best way to improve crossbred sow productivity.

The Neoarchean Bundelkhand greenstone sequences at Mauranipur and Babina areas within the Bundelkhand Gneissic Complex preserve a variety of magmatic rocks such as komatiitic basalts, basalts,felsic volcanic rocks and high-Mg andesites belonging to the Baragaon, Raspahari and Koti *** intrusive and extrusive komatiitic basalts are characterized by low SiO_2(39-53 wt.%), high MgO(18-25 wt.%).moderately high Fe_2O_3(7.1-11.6 wt.%), Al_2O_3(4.5-12.0 wt.%), and TiO_2(0.4-1.23 wt.%)with super to subchondritic(Gd/Yb)N ratios indicating garnet control on the melts. The intrusive komatiitic suite of Ti-enriched and Al-depleted type possesses predominant negative Eu and positive Nb, Ti and Y anomalies. The chemical composition of basalts classifies them into three types with varying SiO_2, TiO_2, MgO, Fe_2O_3, Al_2O_3 and CaO. At similar SiO_2 content of type Ⅰ and Ⅲ basalts, the type II basalts show slightly high Al_2O_3 and Fe_2O_3 contents. Significant negative anomalies of Nb, Zr, Hf and Ti, slightly enriched LREE with relatively flat HREE and low ∑REE contents are observed in type Ⅰ and Ⅱ basalts. TypeⅢ basalts show high Zr/Nb ratios(9.8-10.4), TiO_2(1.97-2.04 wt.%), but possess strikingly flat Zr, Hf, Y and Yb and are uncontaminated. Andesites from Agar and Koti have high SiO_2(55-64 wt.%), moderate TiO_2(0.4-0.7 wt.%), slightly low Al_2O_3(7-11.9 wt.%), medium to high MgO(3-8 wt.%) and CaO contents(10-17 wt.%). Anomalously high Cr, Co and Ni contents are observed in the Koti rhyolites. Tholeiitic to calc alkaline affinity of mafic-felsic volcanic rocks and basalt-andesite dacite-rhyolite differentiation indicate a mature arc and thickened crust during the advanced stage of the evolution of Neoarchean Bundelkhand greenstone belt in a convergent tectonic setting where the melts were derived from partial melting of thick basaltic crust metamorphosed to amphibolite-eclogite facies. Effect of sustained virological response on long-term clinical outcome in 113 patients with compensated hepatitis C-related cirrhosis treated by interferon alpha and ribavirin

AIM： To assess the long-term clinical benefit of sustained virological response （SvR） in patients with hepatitis C virus （HCv） cirrhosis treated by antiviral therapy using mostly ribavirin plus interferon either standard or ***： One hundred and thirteen patients with uncomplicated HCv biopsy-proven cirrhosis, treated by at least one course of antiviral treatment ≥ 3 mo and followed ≥ 30 mo were included. The occurrence of clinical events [hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC）, decompensation and death] was compared in SvR and non SvR ***： Seventy eight patients received bitherapy and 63 had repeat treatments. SvR was achieved in 37 patients （33%）. During a mean follow-up of 7.7 years, clinical events occurred more frequently in non SvR than in SvR patients, with a significant difference for HCC （24/76 vs 1/37, P = 0.01）. No SvR patient died while 20/76 non-SvR did （P = 0.002）, mainly in relation to HCC （45%）.CONCLUSION： In patients with HCv-related cirrhosis, $vR is associated with a significant decrease in the incidence of HCC and mortality during a follow-up period of 7.7 years. This result is a strong argument to perform and repeat antiviral treatments in patients with compensated cirrhosis.

Decoupling the role of chemistry and microstructure in hMSCs response to an osteoinductive calcium phosphate ceramic

Calcium phosphates(CaP)are widely used synthetic bone graft substitutes,having bioactivity that is regulated by a set of intertwined physico-chemical and structural *** some CaPs have shown to be as effective in regenerating large bone defects as autologous bone,there is still the need to understand the role of individual material properties in CaP ***,we aimed to decouple the effects of chemical composition and surface-microstructure of a beta-tricalcium phosphate(TCP)ceramic,with proven osteoinductive potential,on human mesenchymal stromal cells(hMSCs)*** this end,we replicated the surface structure of the TCP ceramic into polylactic acid without inorganic additives,or containing the chemical constituents of the ceramic,i.e.,a calcium salt,a phosphate salt,or TCP *** microstructure of the different materials was characterized by confocal laser *** were cultured on the materials,and the expression of a set of osteogenic genes was *** cell culture medium was collected and the levels of calcium and phosphate ions were quantified by inductively-coupled plasma mass *** results revealed that none of the tested combinations of properties in polymer/composite replicas was as potent in supporting the osteogenic differentiation of hMSCs as the original ***,we observed some effects of the surface structure in the absence of inorganics,as well as combined effects of surface structure and the added salts,in particular calcium,on osteogenic *** approach presented here can be used to study the role of independent properties in other CaP-based biomaterials.
