Al-Cu alloy was deformed through equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) by routes A,Ba,Bc and C up to 5 *** was done using a 90° die for three different conditions,namely 1) as received,2) solutionised at 768 K for 1 h and 3) solutionised at 768 K for 1 h + aged at 468 K for 5 *** microstructure,microhardness and tensile strength were studied for all the three conditions and four *** improvement in hardness(Hv 184 after five passes) and strength(602 MPa after three passes) was observed in solutionised and aged 2014 Al alloy deformed through route *** evolution was reasonably equiaxed in route Bc with aspect ratio of *** and aged 2014 Al alloy deformed through route Bc was identified to have better microstructure and mechanical property than the other processing routes and conditions.

Cloud Computing has become the popular paradigm for accessing the various scalable and on-demand computing services over the ***,individual Cloud Service Providers(CSPs)offering specialized services to the customers collaborate to form the Cloud Federation,in order to reap the real benefits of Cloud *** collaboration,the member CSPs of the federation achieve better resource utilization and Quality of Service(QoS),thereby increasing their business *** a CSP runs out of resources in the Cloud Federation,in order to offload the customer requests for resources to other CSP(s),identifying a suitable partner is a challenging task due to the lack of global coordination among *** this paper,we propose the design and implementation of an efficient partner selection mechanism in the Cloud Federation,using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)and the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS)methods,and also considering the trust values of various CSPs in the *** AHP method is used to calculate the weights of the QoS parameters used in the TOPSIS method which is used to rank the various CSPs in the Cloud Federation according to the user *** results show the effectiveness of this approach in order to efficiently select the trustworthy partners in large scale federations to ensure the required QoS to the cloud consumers.

AIM:To assess visual outcomes and satisfaction of a non-diffractive extended depth of focus(EDOF)intraocular lens(IOL)in individuals with ocular hypertension(OHT)and well-controlled mild glaucoma undergoing cataract ***:An investigator-initiated,single-center,prospective,interventional,noncomparative study conducted in Montreal,*** study enrolled 31 patients(55 eyes)with OHT or mild glaucoma who received a non-diffractive EDOF IOL(Acrysof IQ vivity).Participants underwent sequential cataract surgery with the vivity ***-up evaluations occurred at 1d,1,and 3mo postoperatively,assessing uncorrected distance,intermediate,and near visual ***(QUvID:Questionnaire for visual disturbances and IOLSAT:Intraocular lens satisfaction)were administered pre and post-operatively to measure visual disturbances and spectacle independence in various *** parameters included intraocular pressure(IOP),glaucoma medications,spherical equivalence,mean deviation and pattern standard deviation or square root of lost variance on Octopus visual ***:At 1 and 3mo postoperatively,significant improvements were observed in uncorrected distance and intermediate visual *** independence was enhanced for distance and intermediate vision,especially in bright light ***-free intermediate vision was improved even in dim *** disturbances,particularly glare symptoms,were reduced,and there was a notable decrease in IOP and glaucoma medication burden at *** was more hazy vision postoperatively with no impact on visual acuity and visual ***:The non-diffractive EDOF lens improves distance and intermediate spectacle-free visual function in patients with OHT and well-controlled *** findings highlight significant improvements in visual acuity,reduced glare,enhanced spectacle independence,and improved visual performance in different lighting conditions.

Lignin-rich recalcitrant biomass residues of coconut palms viz.(i)mature coconut husk,(ii)tender(immature or green)coconut husk(iii)coconut leaf petiole and(iv)coir-pith were successfully pyrolysed using a simple charring kiln into carbon-rich,black,light weight and porous *** alkalinity and good ash content made them fit for remediating acid *** potassium content in these biochars could help reduce the use of inorganic *** analysis showed the mass loss phases of husk and coconut leaf petiole biochars to be ***,all four biochars gave smooth curves indicating thermal stability of the *** seed germination and earthworm avoidance tests proved their potential as soil *** incubation studies with coconut biochars in graded doses,alone or in combination with coconut leaf vermicompost,increased the pH,organic carbon and potassium contents,and promoted plant-beneficial microbiota and enzyme *** studies with tender coconut husk biochar and coconut leaf vermicompost enhanced the dry weight of cowpea plants accompanied with increased arbuscular mycorrhizal sporulation and root colonization,and root nodule dry weight.A field trial resulted in higher chilli yields with tender coconut husk biochar+coconut leaf vermicompost *** results from our studies highlight the potential of pyrolysis as an innovative technology for quick recycling of highly recalcitrant coconut palm biomass residues to biochars as a local source of soil amendment to aid regenerative agriculture in humid tropics.

Co3O4possesses both direct and indirect oxidation effects and is considered as a promising catalyst for the oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural（HMF）.However,the enrichment and activation effects of Co3O4on OH-and HMF are weak,which limits its further *** defect engineering can regulate the electronic structure,optimize the adsorption of intermediates,and improve the catalytic activity by breaking the symmetry of the material,which is rarely involved in the upgrading of *** this work,we prepare Co3O4with metal defects and load the precious metal platinum at the defect sites（Ptvco）.The results of in-situ characterizatio ns,electrochemical measurements,and theoretical calculations indicate that the reduction of Co-Co coordination number and the formation of Pt-Co bond induce the decrease of electron filling in the antibonding orbitals of Co *** resulting upward shift of the d-band center of Co combined with the characteristic adsorption of Pt species synergically enhances the enrichment and activation of organic molecules and OH species,thus exhibiting excellent HMF oxidation activity(including a lower onset potential（1.14 v） and 19 times higher current density than pure Co3O4at 1.35 v).In summary,this work explores the adsorption enhancement mechanism of metal defect sites modified by precious metal in detail,provides a new option for improving the HMF oxidation activity of cobalt-based materials,broadens the application field of metal defect based materials,and gives an innovative guidance for the functional utilization of metal defect sites in biomass conversion.

In aquaculture, feed represents the main component of production costs, and the development of this sector depends on the development of an economical feed formulation that meets the qualitative and quantitative requirements of fish. The aim of this study was to determine the nutritive and microbiological quality of fish feed formulated from local flours enriched with Hermetia illucens larvae. The raw materials used for formulation were fishmeal, corn meal, low-grade rice, soybean meal and Hermetia illucens larvae meal. Different iso-protein feed compositions were prepared with 0%, 10%, 25%, 35%, 50%, 65%, 75% and 100% incorporation of Hermetia illucens larvae meal as a substitute for fish meal. Biochemical and microbiological analyses of these flours were determined using standard methods. The results showed that incorporation of larvae meal had an influence on the biochemical characteristics ash (8.15 to 20.27%), lipid (11.55 to 24.94%), fiber (13.93 to 20.41%) and dry matter (89.65 to 91.19%) of various formulated feed. Loads of fecal Streptococci, Staphylococci, Aeromonas, yeasts and molds ranged from 2.4 to 4.9 log 10 CFU/g;3.6 to 3.9 log 10 CFU/g;2.2 to 2.7 log 10 CFU/g;2.1 to 2.3 log 10 CFU/g, respectively. The level of contamination of these flours was below the microbiological criteria applicable to animal feed. Feed formulated with 0% and 10% Hermetia illucens larvae showed the best nutritive and microbiological characteristics. These results suggest that flours enriched with Hermetia illucens larvae could be used in fish feed.
