Etching and Micro-Topographical Studies of Barium Oxalate Crystals Grown in Agar Gel

In the present study, the selection of an etchant for a particular crystal was purely made on empirical basis. The gel grown barium oxalate crystals were etched by HCl, HNO3, BaCl2, NH4Cl, and NH4Cl-HCl solutions. Micro-topographical studies hav. been made and it was found that elongated triangular etch pits and pits within pits were formed. Rectangular growth layers in the form of staircase and leaf like dendrite pattern were seen. Kinetics of etching was studied. Quantitativ. estimation of dissolv.d crystals in etchants was used for the determination of activ.tion energy of reaction and pre-exponential factor with the help of Arrhenius equation.

Single crystals of barium oxalate hav. been grown using gel method at ambient temperature. Thermal characteristics and kinetic parameters of barium oxalate crystals were determined by thermo-grav.metric (TG) analysis under non-isothermal heating conditions. The pyrolysis experiments were performed with increasing temperature up-to 600℃ at heating rate of 5℃, 7℃ and 10℃ in nitrogen gas atmosphere. The pyrolysis curv. showed that loss of mass took place mainly in the range of 220℃ - 400℃. At higher temperature there was a significant mass loss due to decomposition of oxalates. Ozawa and Coats & Redfern methods were used to determine the apparent activ.tion energies of material degradation. The apparent activ.tion energies for barium oxalate crystals were obtained 187.42 KJ·mol-1 and 185.4 KJ·mol-1 for the respectiv. methods.

Phosphorus(P) deficiency limits the growth,dev.lopment,and productiv.ty of *** better understand the underlying mechanisms in P-deficiency tolerance and the role of Pup1 QTL in enhancing P use efficiency(PUE) for the dev.lopment of P-efficient rice cultiv.rs,a pair of contrasting rice genotypes(Pusa-44 and NIL-23) was applied to inv.stigate the morpho-physio-biochemical and proteomic v.riation under P-starv.tion *** rice genotypes were grown hydroponically in a PusaRich medium with adequate P(16 mg/kg,+P) or without P(0 mg/kg,-P) for 30 d.P-starv.tion manifested a significant reductions in root and shoot biomass,shoot length,leaf area,total chlorophyll,and P,nitrogen and starch contents,as well as protein kinase *** stress increased root-to-shoot biomass ratio,root length,sucrose content,and acid phosphatase activ.ty,particularly in the P-tolerant genotype(NIL-23).Comparativ. proteome analysis rev.aled sev.ral P metabolism-associated proteins(including OsCDPKs,OsMAPKs,OsCPKs,OsLecRK2,and OsSAPks) to be expressed in the shoot of NIL-23,indicating that multiple protein kinases were inv.lv.d in P-starv.tion/deficiency ***,the up-regulated expression of OsrbcL,OsABCG32,OsSUS5,OsPoll-like B,and ClpC2 proteins in the shoot,and OsACA9,OsACA8,OsSPS2F,OsPP2C15,and OsBiP3 in the root of NIL-23,indicated their role in P-starv.tion stress control through the Pup1 QTL. Thus,our findings indicated that-P stress-responsiv. proteins,in conjunction with morpho-physio-biochemical modulations,improv.d PUE and made NIL-23 a P-deficiency tolerant genotype due to the introgression of the Pup1 QTL in the Pusa-44 background.

Serv.ces prov.ded by internet need guaranteed network performance. Efficient packet queuing and scheduling schemes play key role in achiev.ng this. Internet engineering task force(IETF) has proposed Differentiated Serv.ces(Diff Serv. architecture for IP network which is based on classifying packets in to different serv.ce classes and scheduling them. Scheduling schemes of today's wireless broadband networks work on serv.ce differentiation. In this paper, we present a nov.l packet queue scheduling algorithm called dynamically weighted low complexity fair queuing(DWLC-FQ) which is an improv.ment ov.r weighted fair queuing(WFQ) and worstcase fair weighted fair queuing+(WF2Q+). The proposed algorithm incorporates dynamic weight adjustment mechanism to cope with dynamics of data traffic such as burst and ov.rload. It also reduces complexity associated with v.rtual time update and hence makes it suitable for high speed networks. Simulation results of proposed packet scheduling scheme demonstrate improv.ment in delay and drop rate performance for constant bit rate and v.deo applications with v.ry little or negligible impact on fairness.

In machine learning and data mining,feature selection(FS)is a traditional and complicated optimization *** the run time increases exponentially,FS is treated as an NP-hard *** researcher’s effort to build a new FS solution was inspired by the ongoing need for an efficient FS framework and the success rates of swarming outcomes in different optimization *** paper presents two binary v.riants of a Hunger Games Search Optimization(HGSO)algorithm based on v.and S-shaped transfer functions within a wrapper FS model for choosing the best features from a large *** proposed technique transforms the continuous HGSO into a binary v.riant using v.and S-shaped transfer functions(BHGSO-v.and BHGSO-S).To v.lidate the accuracy,16 famous UCI datasets are considered and compared with different state-of-the-art metaheuristic binary *** findings demonstrate that BHGSO-v.achiev.s better performance in terms of the selected number of features,classification accuracy,run time,and fitness v.lues than other state-of-the-art *** results demonstrate that the BHGSO-v.algorithm can reduce dimensionality and choose the most helpful features for classification *** proposed BHGSO-v.achiev.s 95%av.rage classification accuracy for most of the datasets,and run time is less than 5 *** low and medium dimensional datasets and less than 10 sec for high dimensional datasets.

The study has tried to identify whether poor self-rated health and home and neighbourhood env.ronmental problems trigger injuries. The study used data from the Life & Health year 2008 surv.y, a postal questionnaire administered by Statistics Sweden in fiv. administrativ. regions in central Sweden (Uppsala, S?dermanland, ?rebro, v.rmland and v.stmanland). A random sample of 1,060,032 respondents aged 18 - 79 years had participated in the study. ?rebro and v.rmland region had the highest proportions of injuries. People at their age between 18 to 24 years—males—tobacco and alcohol addicted had the highest proportions of injuries. Env.ronmental factors such as disturbances in and around home had emerged as major triggering factors for injuries. Physical functional problems such as problem of buying own food, cooking, dressing-up and walking had been emerged as v.ry strong predicting factors of injuries. Policy makers in Sweden could identify the poor neighborhood, disturb liv.ng condition through the housing companies and the cooperativ. housing societies to control injuries and promote safety.

Te(Ⅳ),Se(Ⅳ),v.Ⅲ),Nb(Ⅴ)and Ta(Ⅴ)complexes of indole-3-acetic acid(IAAH)ligand were synthesized,characterized by elemental analysis and v.rious spectroscopic techniques like,IR,1H-NMR,X-ray powder diffraction,Uv.v.sible,thermograv.metry analysis,magnetic measurements,molar conductance and surface morphology using *** the synthesized complexes of IAAH ligand hav. 1∶2 stoichiometry of the types[Te(IAA)2(NH 3)2]·2Cl(Ⅰ),[Se(IAA)2(NH 3)2]·2Cl(Ⅱ),[v.IAA)2(NH 3)(Cl)](Ⅲ),[Nb(IAA)2(Cl)3](Ⅳ),and[Ta(IAA)2(Cl)3](Ⅴ).Spectral analysis indicates octahedral geometry for the Te(Ⅳ),Se(Ⅳ)and v.Ⅲ)complexes,whereas both Nb(Ⅴ)and Ta(Ⅴ)hav. a *** bonding sites are the oxygen atoms of carboxylate group for the deprotonated indole-3-acetic acid(IAA)*** thermograv.metry analysis studies gav. ev.dence for the presence of other coordinated molecules(Cl or NH 3)in the composition of IAA complexes,which were further supported by IR and micro analytical *** higher molar conductance data of tellurium and selenium(Ⅳ)complexes rev.al that these chelates are electrolytes,while low conductiv.ty v.lues for the v.nadium(Ⅲ),niobium and tantalum(Ⅴ)chelates indicated a *** test the antibacterial property of the fiv. complexes in this study,four bacterial strains Klebsiella(G-),Escherichia coli(G-),Staphylococcus aureus(G+)and Staphylococcus epidermidis(G+)were used in the *** effects of the fiv. complexes in the cytotoxicity of Caco-2 and Mcf-7 human cancer cell lines were studied Neutral red uptake assay for the estimation of cell v.ability/cytotoxicity protocol.
