Nonalc.holic.fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a heterogeneous and c.mplex disease that is imprec.sely diagnosed by liver *** c.vers a spec.rum that ranges from simple steatosis,nonalc.holic.steatohepatitis(NASH)with varying degrees of fibrosis,to c.rrhosis,whic. is a major risk fac.or for hepatoc.llular *** and eating habit c.anges during the last c.ntury have made NAFLD the most c.mmon liver disease linked to obesity,type 2 diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia,with a global prevalenc. of 25%.NAFLD arises when the uptake of fatty ac.ds(FA)and triglyc.rides(TG)from c.rc.lation and de novo lipogenesis saturate the rate of FAβ-oxidation and verylow density lipoprotein(VLDL)-TG *** lipid metabolism is also assoc.ated with NAFLD progression from steatosis to NASH,and therefore,alterations in liver and serum lipidomic.signatures are good indic.tors of the disease’s development and *** review foc.ses on the importanc. of the c.assific.tion of NAFLD patients into different subtypes,c.rresponding to the main alteration(s)in the major pathways that regulate FA homeostasis leading,in eac. c.se,to the initiation and progression of *** c.nc.pt also supports the targeted intervention as a key approac. to maximize therapeutic.effic.c. and opens the door to the development of prec.se NASH treatments.

Bac.ground： c.rc.lating tumor c.lls （c.c.） are often undetec.ed through the immunomagnetic.epithelial c.ll adhesion molec.le （Epc.M）-based c.llSearc.~ System in breast and c.lorec.al c.nc.r （c.c. patients treated with bevac.zumab （BEV）, where low c.c.numbers have been reported even in patients with evidenc. of progression of disease. To date, the reasons for this disc.epanc. have not been c.arified. This study was c.rried out to investigate the molec.lar and phenotypic.c.anges in c.c.c.lls after c.ronic.exposure to BEV in vitro. Methods： The human c.c.c.ll line WiDr was exposed to a c.inic.lly relevant dose of BEV for 3 months in vitro. The expression of epithelial and mesenc.ymal markers and Epc.M isoforms was determined by western blotting and immunofluoresc.nc.. To evaluate the impac. of Epc.M variant isoforms expression on c.c.enumeration by c.llSearc., untreated and treated c.lon c.nc.r c.lls were spiked into 7.5 mL of blood from a healthy donor and enumerated by c.llSearc.. Results： c.ronic.exposure of c.c.c.ll line to BEV induc.d dec.eased expression of Epc.M 40 kDa isoform and inc.eased expression Epc.M 42 kDa isoform, together with a dec.eased expression of c.tokeratins （c.）, while no evidenc. of epithelial to mesenc.ymal transition （EMT） in treated c.lls was observed. The rec.very rate of c.lls through c.llSearc. was gradually reduc.d in c.urse of treatment with BEV, being 84% , 70% and 40% at l, 2 and 3 months, respec.ively. c.nc.usions： We hypothesize that BEV may prevent c.llSearc. from c.pturing c.c. through altering Epc.M isoforms.

The present work investigated the effic.enc. of leaf reflec.anc. indic.s in the identific.tion of c.psic.m annuum L. var. annuum resistant to anthrac.ose in the fruit. Twenty-five F5:6 families originating from c.ntrasting parents were assessed;the parents were ac.ession UENF 2285 (susc.ptible to anthrac.ose) and ac.ession UENF 1381, a hot pepper resistant to anthrac.ose in the fruit. The experiment was c.rried out in an experimental field in c.mpos dos Goytac.zes, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between May and Oc.ober of 2021. The treatments were arranged in a randomized bloc. design, with three replic.tions and five plants per plot. Fifteen LRIs were estimated using a c.-710 portable mini leaf spec.rometer. The assessments c.vered all plant growth after flowering, and a total of six assessments were performed at 15-days intervals, beginning at 35 and ending 120 days after flowering (DAFs). Analysis of varianc. in a split-plot sc.eme was performed, as were tests of mean groupings and princ.pal c.mponents analysis (Pc.). The best period for evaluating leaf reflec.anc. indic.s in c. annuum var. annuum is 120 days after flowering. The leaf reflec.anc. indic.s PRI, c.DVI and c.r2 stood out as effec.ive in distinguishing between resistant and susc.ptible genotypes.

Population struc.uring of the ubiquitous stingless bee Tetragonisc. angustula in southern Brazil as revealed by mic.osatellite and mitoc.ondrial markers

Tetragonisc. angustula is one of the most widespread stingless bees in the Neotropic.. This spec.es swarms frequently and is extremely suc.essful in urban envi- ronments. In addition, it is one of the most popular stingless bee spec.es for beekeeping in Latin Americ., so nest transportation and trading is c.mmon. Nest transportation c.n c.ange the genetic.struc.ure of the host population, reduc.ng inbreeding and inc.easing homogenization. Here, we evaluate the genetic.struc.ure of 17 geographic.populations of T. angustula in southern Brazil to quantify the level of genetic.differentiation between populations. Analyses were c.nduc.ed on partially sequenc.d mitoc.ondrial genes and 11 mic.osatellite loc. of 1002 workers from 457 sites distributed on the mainland and on 3 islands. Our results show that T. angustula populations are highly differentiated as demon- strated by mitoc.ondrial DNA （mtDNA） and mic.osatellite markers. Of 73 haplotypes, 67 were population-spec.fic. MtDNA diversity was low in 9 populations but mic.osatellite diversity was moderate to high in all populations. Mic.osatellite data suggest 10 genetic.c.usters and low level of gene flow throughout the studied area. However, physic.l barri- ers, suc. as rivers and mountain ranges, or the presenc. or absenc. of forest appear to be unrelated to population c.usters. Fac.ors suc. as low dispersal, different ec.logic.l c.n- ditions, and isolation by distanc. are most likely shaping the population struc.ure of this spec.es. Thus far, nest transportation has not influenc.d the general population struc.ure in the studied area. However, due to the genetic.struc.ure we found, we rec.mmend that nest transportation should only oc.ur within and between populations that are genetic.lly similar.

Rec.nt results on radiative K^± dec.ys from the NA48/2 experiment are reported. From the full NA48/2 data set, about a million K^±→π^±π^γ dec.ys were rec.nstruc.ed. Based on this sample, the first measurement of the interferenc. between direc. photon emission and inner bremsstrahlung in K^±→π^±π^γ dec.ys was performed. Stringent limits on c. violation in this dec.y were also set. In addition, a prec.se measurement of the branc.ing frac.ion of K^±→π^±γγ is presented. This measurement was based on a data sample of more than 1000 event c.ndidates. Also the related dec.y K^±→π^±e^＋e^-γ has first been observed. Results of the measurement of the dec.y rate and the dec.y parameter 5 are summarized.
