Aims The aim of the study was to discover what set of variables best explains the transition from warm to mesic forest *** on various variables grouped into sets(geomorphological,ecological,structural,soil characteristics and chorological),six models were built and tested by generalized additive mixed models(GAMMs).We assumed that each set of variables has different explanatory *** aim was to compare the six different models(sets of variables),to test which model best explains the species turnover in forest communities along the transition between warm and mesic temperate forests and to try to find reasons for the different explanatory power of the *** The research took place in the southern part of the Balkan *** sampling was done according to standard *** gradient from warm to mesic forests was defined as the turnover of species and evaluated by projection of samples on the first unconstrained DCA ***,ecological,structural and soil characteristics,together with chorological sets of variables,were regressed on the turnover of species *** on the five sets of variables,six models were constructed and tested by generalized additive mixed *** Findings Ecological conditions best explain the change of forest communities along the gradient;evolution and the development of vegetation reflected in chorotypes are also of high importance;geomorphology and structure seem not to change so dramatically and soil shows the least significant differences of *** variables are the most important set of variables in the transition between warm and mesic temperate forests but eco-evolutionary dynamics after the Pleistocene should also be taken into consideration.

从杂乱无序的历史街区到社区共享、历史叠合的城市里弄体验空间“买点小菜,喝杯咖啡再回家!”这是居住在武夷路街区附近的一位奶奶的日常生活。更新后的武夷路320街区给周围人的生活带来了很大的改变,成为年轻人、老年人共享的社区邻里中心。项目位于上海市长宁区“中山公园—愚园路—定西路”重点区域内,愚园路风貌保护区的边界处。历史在地块内留下了丰厚的建筑遗迹,同时也造成了无序堆砌的空间现状、较差的可达性与极低的可识别性,低能级的功能业态已无法跟上武夷路所处高密度中心城区的发展势头。

Viral and cellular determinants involved in hepadnaviral entry

Hepadnaviridae is a family of hepatotropic DNA viruses that is divided into the genera orthohepadnavirus of mammals and avihepadnavirus of birds. All members of this family can cause acute and chronic hepatic infection, which in the case of human hepatitis B virus （HBV） constitutes a major global health problem. Although our knowledge about the molecular biology of these highly liver-specific viruses has profoundly increased in the last two decades, the mechanisms of attachment and productive entrance into the differentiated host hepatocytes are still enigmatic. The difficulties in studying hepadnaviral entry were primarily caused by the lack of easily accessible in vitro infection systems. Thus, for more than twenty years, differentiated primary hepatocytes from the respective species were the only in vitro models for both orthohepadnaviruses （e.g. HBV） and avihepadnaviruses （e.g. duck hepatitis B virus [DHBV]）. Two important discoveries have been made recently regarding HBV：（1） primary hepatoo/tes from tree-shrews; i.e., Tupaia belangeri, can be substituted for primary human hepatocytes, and （2） a human hepatoma cell line （HepaRG） was established that gains susceptibility for HBV infection upon induction of differentiation in vitro. A number of potential HBV receptor candidates have been described in the past, but none of them have been confirmed to function as a receptor. For DHBV and probably all other avian hepadnaviruses, carboxypeptidase D （CPD） has been shown to be indispensable for infection, although the exact role of this molecule is still under debate. While still restricted to the use of primary duck hepatocytes （PDH）, investigations performed with DHBV provided important general concepts on the first steps of hepadnaviral infection. However, with emerging data obtained from the new HBV infection systems, the hope that DHBV utilizes the same mechanism as HBV only partially held true. Development of spinal deformities in the tight-skin mouse

Tight-skin （TSK） mice are commonly used as an animal model to study the pathogenesis of Marfan syndrome （MFS）, but little is known of their skeletal phenotype and in particular of the development of the spinal deformities, common in MFS. Here we examined growth of the axial skeletons of TSK and wild-type（B6） mice during their period of rapid growth. The whole bodies of mice, 4-12 weeks of age, were scanned after sacrifice, by micro-computed tomography （microCT）. We reconstructed three-dimensional models of the spine and ribs, and measured vertebral body heights and rib lengths using the Mac-based image-processing software ＂OsiriX＂. Although the TSK mice were smaller than the B6 mice at 4 weeks, they experienced an early growth spurt and by 8 weeks the height, but not the width, of the vertebral body was significantly greater in the TSK mice than the B6 mice. Measurement of the angles of scoliotic and kyphotic curves postmortem in the mice was problematic, hence we measured changes that develop in skeletal elements in these disorders. As a marker of kyphosis, we measured anterior wedging of the vertebral bodies; as a marker for scoliosis we measured asymmetries in rib length. We found, unlike in the B6 mice where the pattern was diffuse, wedging in TSK mice was directly related to spinal level and peaked steeply at the thoracolumbar junction. There was also significant asymmetry in length of the ribs in the TSK mice, but not in the B6 mice. The TSK mice thus appear to exhibit spinal deformities seen in MFS and could be a useful model for gaining understanding of the mechanisms of development of scoliosis and kyphosis in this disorder.
