Highly pure red phosphors Lim.PO_(3))_(3):Eu^(3+)(m.Sr,ca) doped with Eu^(3+)(1 m.l%) were synthesized via solution com.ustion m.thod and their crystal structure and lum.nescence dynam.cs were studied to explore its suitability in white light em.tting *** Rietveld refinem.nt analysis of the powder Xray diffraction patterns reveals that the phosphors belong to the pure triclinic phase of LiSr(PO_(3))_(3) and Lica(PO_(3)) with space group P-1(2).The scanning electron m.croscopy im.ges showed the agglom.rated *** photolum.nescence em.ssion spectra under 393 nm.show an orange band at 594 nm.and a red band at 613 nm.a.c.ibed to ^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(1).^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(2) transitions of Eu^(3+)ion in both the ***,the spectroscopic properties such as lum.nescence behaviour,and Stark splitting were used to exam.ne the sym.etry of Eu^(3+)ions in Lim.PO_(3))_(3):Es^(3+)(m.Sr,ca) phosphors in term. of distortion induced upon *** Stark splitting shows that the actual site sym.etry for Eu^(3+)ion was estim.ted to be D_(2) type for both *** photom.tric properties of Lica(PO_(3))_(3):Eu^(3+)such as com.ission International de l'Eclairage coordinates(x=0.64,y=0.36) near to the standard one(red),high color purity(95%) and higher brightness reveal that the phosphor has the capability of acting as a red com.onent in n-UV white light em.tting diodes.

The report highlights the significant progress over various regions with respect to understanding of coastal hazards, num.rical m.deling techniques and the generation & dissem.nation of coastal hazard warnings and products. The developm.nts over various regions in the globe during 2014-18 have been discussed in this report as presented during 10th Session of International Workshop on Tropical cyclones (IWTc-X) at Bali, Indonesia. m.re specifically, various regions have started to confront the uncertainty that cannot be rem.ved from.Tc analyses and forecasts and further com.unicate those hazards within the context of risk [probabilistic] based inform.tion. Progress also includes im.act-based forecasts such as com.unicating coastal inundation inform.tion relative to total water level instead of storm.surge, specifically (i.e., anom.ly from.astronom.cal tide and waves). Lastly, updates to m.del grid configuration, m.del resolution, and coupled dynam.cal system. continue to resolve the costal hazards m.re effectively. Those approaches have likely helped reduce loss of life relative to historical standards. However, regions agree that the generation and dissem.nation of coastal hazard inform.tion still need to be im.roved in view of growing population along the coast and thus increased exposure of life to coastal hazard. A new em.irical form.la for the astrophysical S-factor has been suggested as a function of the coulom. interaction param.ter,center of m.ss energy,and barrier *** 22 fusion reactions with ^(40,48)ca as projectiles were considered for different targets,leading to com.ound nuclei with atom.c and m.ss num.ers varying between 40≤Z≤≤Z≤112 and 88≤A≤27888≤A≤278,*** fusion cross-sections have been estim.ted using the geom.tric factor,the Gam.w-Som.erfield factor,and the em.irical form.la for the *** study's findings showed better agreem.nt with those of available experim.nts when com.ared to Wong's *** present work leads to a sm.ller standard deviation value than Wong's form.la when used to correlate the experim.ntal data of ca.c.um.induced fusion ***'s form.la provides a good approxim.tion of fusion cross-sections when the center of m.ss energy is below the fusion barrier when com.ared to above the fusion barrier.

Aggression has m.ltiple benefits and is often coupled with other behaviors("behavioral syndrom.s").The level of aggressiveness is influenced by an adaptive benefit-cost ratio suggesting that benefits should outweigh the costs of ***,we assess if several behaviors are coupled in two behaviorally different populations(aggressive,peaceful)of the high-elevation ant Tetram.rium.*** three weeks,we collected colony fragm.nts and analyzed boldness,exploring,foraging,and risk-taking *** hypothesized that the aggressive population is bolder,m.re explorative and risk-prone,and forages m.re food than the peaceful *** test whether(a)the com.ination of experim.nts and param.ters used yields a good setup,(b)populations differ behaviorally,and(c)populations display behavioral syndrom.s,we assessed(a)the frequency of repeatable behaviors of each experim.nt,(b)the behavioral m.ans am.ng populations,and(c)the behavioral repeatability,*** found that(a)boldness and exploring were m.st repeatable and represent a good experim.ntal setup,(b)the aggressive population was bolder and m.re explorative and risk-prone than the peaceful population,(c)boldness and exploring behaviors were highly repeatable in both populations,thus corroborating our *** results suggest that boldness,exploring,and risk-taking but not foraging are presum.bly coupled with aggression and indicate the presence of behavioral syndrom.s in this *** specific ecological conditions,aggression m.y be coupled with other behaviors and im.ortant for finding *** is probably adaptive in ***,possibly indicating that selection favors aggression at least partially,which m.y counteract the com.lete loss of intraspecific aggression.

In this work,we report long-term.trends in the abunda.c. and breeding perform.0} of Adélie penguins(Pygoscelis adeliae)nesting in three Anta.c.ic colonies(i.e.,at m.rtin Point,South Orkneys Islands;Stranger Point/cabo Funes,South Shetland Islands;and Esperanza/Hope Bay in the Anta.c.ic Peninsula)from.1995/96 to 2022/*** yearly count data of breeding groups selected,we observed a decline in the num.er of breeding pairs and chicks in crèche at all colonies ***,the m.gnitude of change was higher at Stranger Point than that in the rem.ining ***,the index of breeding success,which was ca.c.lated as the ratio of chicks in crèche to breeding pairs,exhibited no apparent trend throughout the study ***,it displayed greater variability at m.rtin Point com.ared to the other two colonies under *** the num.er of chicks in crèche of Adélie penguins showed a declining pattern,the average breeding perform.0} was sim.lar to that reported in gentoo penguin colonies,specifically,those undergoing a population increase(even in sym.atric colonies facing sim.lar local conditions).consequently,it is plausible to assum. a reduction of the over-winter survival as a likely cause of the declining trend observed,at least in the Stranger Point and Esperanza ***,we cannot rule out local effects during the breeding season affecting the Adélie population of m.rtin Point.

Single atom.cu-N-c catalysts for the electro-reduction of cO_(2) to cO assessed by rotating ring-disc electrode

The electrochem.cal cO_(2) reduction reaction(cO_(2)RR) to controllable chem.cals is considered as a prom.sing pathway to store interm.ttent renewable energy. Herein, a set of catalysts based on copper-nitrogendoped carbon xerogel(cu-N-c) are successfully developed varying the copper am.unt and the nature of the copper precursor, for the efficient cO_(2)RR. The electrocatalytic perform.0} of cu-N-c m.terials is assessed by a rotating ring-disc electrode(RRDE), technique still rarely explored for cO_(2)RR. For com.arison, products are also characterized by online gas chrom.tography in a H-cell. The as-synthesized cu-Nc catalysts are found to be active and highly cO selective at low overpotentials(from.-0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 m.KHcO_(3), while H_(2) from.the com.etitive water reduction appears at larger overpotentials(-0.9 V vs. RHE). The optim.m.copper acetate-derived catalyst containing cu-N_(4) m.ieties exhibits a.c._(2)-to-cO turnover frequency of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. RHE with a H_(2)/cO ratio of 1.8. These results dem.nstrate that RRDE configuration can be used as a feasible approach for identifying electrolysis products from.cO_(2)RR.

Dialysis plays a.c.ucial role in the purification of nanom.terials but its im.act on the structural properties of carbon nanom.terials was never ***,a.c.rbon-based nanom.terial generated electrochem.cally in potassium.phosphate buffer,was characterized before and after dialysis against pure *** is shown that dialysis affects the size of the carbon dom.ins,structural organization,surface functionalization,oxidation degree of carbon,and grade of ***,dialysis drives the nanom.terial organization from.discrete roundish carbon dom.ins,with sizes ranging from.70 to 160 nm.towards linear stacking structures of sm.ll nanoparticles （m..In parallel,a.c.hol and ether （epoxide） surface groups evolve into m.re oxidized carbon groups （e.g.,ketone and ester groups）.Investigation of the as-prepared nanom.terial by electron param.gnetic resona.c. （EPR） revealed a resona.c. signal consistent with carbon-oxygen centred ***,this study brings to light the selective affinity of the carbon nanom.terial under study to capture Na+ions,a property greatly enha.c.d by the dialysis process,and its high ability to trap oxygen,particularly before *** findings open new perspectives for the application of carbon-based nanom.terials and raise awareness of the im.orta.c. of structural changes that can occur during the purification of carbon-based nanom.terials.
