IN2CLOUD: A novel concept for collaborative management of big railway data

In the EU Horizon 2020 Shift2Rail MultiAnnual Action Plan, the challenge of railway maintenance is generating knowledge from data and/or information. Therefore, we promote a novel concept called"IN2CLOUD," which comprises three sub-concepts, to address this challenge: 1) A hybrid cloud, 2) an intelligent cloud with hybrid cloud learning, and 3) collaborative management using asset-related data acquired from the intelligent hybrid cloud. The concept is developed under the assumption that organizations want/need to learn from each other(including domain knowledge and experience)but do not want to share their raw data or ***2CLOUD will help the movement of railway industry systems from "local" to "global" optimization in a collaborative way. The development of cutting-edge intelligent hybrid cloud-based solutions, including information technology(IT) solutions and related methodologies, will enhance business security, economic sustainability, and decision support in the field of intelligent asset management of railway assets.

Objective:Despite conflicting evidence,it is common practice to use continuous antibiotic prophylaxis(CAP)in patients with indwelling double-J(DJ)*** extracts and d-mannose have been shown to prevent colonization of the urinary *** evaluated their role in this ***:We conducted a prospective randomized study to evaluate patients with indwelling DJ stents following urological *** were randomized into three *** A(n=46)received CAP(nitrofurantoin 100 mg once daily[OD]).Group B(n=48)received cranberry extract 300 mg and d-mannose 600 mg twice daily(BD).Group C(n=40)received no *** stents were removed between 15 days and 45 days after *** groups were compared in terms of colonization of stent and urine,stent related symptoms and febrile urinary tract infections(UTIs)during the period of indwelling stent and until 1 week after ***:In Group A,9(19.5%)patients had significant bacterial growth on the *** was 8(16.7%)in the Group B and 5(12.5%)in Group C(p-value:0.743).However,the culture positivity rate of urine specimens showed a significant difference(p-value:0.023)with Group B showing least colonization of urine compared to groups A and *** was no statistically significant difference in the frequency of stent related symptoms(p-value:0.242)or febrile UTIs(p-value:0.399)among the ***:Prophylactic agents have no role in altering bacterial growth on temporary indwelling DJ stent,stent related symptoms or febrile *** extract may reduce the colonization of urinary tract,but its clinical significance needs further evaluation.

Soil erosion is a growing problem especially in areas of agricultural activity where soil erosion not only leads to decreased agricultural productivity but also reduces water availability. Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) is the most popular empirically based model used globally for erosion prediction and control. Remote sensing and GIS techniques have become valuable tools specially when assessing erosion at larger scales due to the amount of data needed and the greater area coverage. The present study area is a part of Chotanagpur plateau with undulating topography, with a very high risk of soil erosion. In the present study an attempt has been made to assess the annual soil loss in Upper South Koel basin using Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) in GIS framework. Such information can be of immense help in identifying priority areas for implementation of erosion control measures. The soil erosion rate was determined as a function of land topography, soil texture, land use/land cover, rainfall erosivity, and crop management and practice in the watershed using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (for Indian conditions), remote sensing imagery, and GIS techniques. The rainfall erosivity R-factor of USLE was found as 546 MJ mm/ha/hr/yr and the soil erodibility K-factor varied from 0.23 - 0.37. Slopes in the catchment varied between 0% and 42% having LS factor values ranging from 0 - 21. The C factor was computed from NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetative Index) values derived from Landsat-TM data. The P value was computed from existing cropping patterns in the catchment. The annual soil loss estimated in the watershed using USLE is 12.2 ton/ha/yr.

The assessment and analysis of railway infra structure capacity is an essential task in railway infra structure management carried out to meet the required quality and capacity demand of railway transport. For sustainable and dependable infrastructure management, it is important to assess railway capacity limitation from the point of view of infrastructure performance. However, the existence of numerous performance indicators often leads to diffused information that is not in a format suitable to support decision making. In this paper, we demonstrated the use of fuzzy inference system for aggregating selected railway infrastructure performance indicators to relate maintenance function to capacity situation. The selected indicators consider the safety, comfort, punctuality and reliability aspects of railway infrastructure performance. The resulting composite indicator gives a reliable quanti fication of the health condition or integrity of railway lines. A case study of the assessment of overall infrastructure performance which is an indication of capacity limitation is presented using indicator data between 2010 and 2012 for five lines on the network of Trafikverket （Swedish Trans port Administration）. The results are presented using cus tomised performance dashboard for enhanced visualisation,quick understanding and relevant comparison structure conditions for strategic management. This gives additional information on capacity status and limitation from maintenance management perspective.

The quantitative analysis of drainage system is an important aspect of characterization of watersheds. Morphometry is measurement and mathematical analysis of landforms. The present study is an attempt to evaluate the drainage morphometrics of Upper South Koel Basin using Remote Sensing and GIS approach. A morphometric analysis was carried out to describe the topography and drainage characteristics of Upper South Koel watershed. The stream numbers, orders, lengths and other morphometric parameters like bifurcation ratio, drainage density, stream frequency, shape parameters etc. were measured. The drainage area of Upper South Koel watershed is 942.4 sq km and the drainage pattern is dentritic. The watershed was classified as 6th order drainage basin. The low values of bifurcation ratio and drainage density suggest that the area has not been much affected by structural disturbances. The study reveals that the different geomorphic units in the study area i.e. Structural hills, Pediments, Valley fills, Pediplains formed under the influence of permeable geology, are moderate to nearly level plains, with medium to low drainage density (<2.0) & low cumulative length of higher order streams . Such studies can be of immense help in planning and management of river basins.

Fast and Accurate Identification of <i>M. tuberculosis</i>Complex Using an Immunochromatographic MPT64 Antigen Detection Test

Background: A new rapid Immunochromatographic test (ICT) kit (MPT64 TB Ag Kit) for detection of MPT64 Antigen in M. tuberculosis (MTB) isolates used for rapid identification of MTB isolates developed by SD (Standard Diagnostics) Bio line, South Korea was evaluated. The ICT is a rapid, reliable and cheaper method that can be used instead of conventional biochemical tests for confirming MTB in culture isolates in resource limited laboratories. The study also evaluated the ability of ICT to detect MPT64-Antigen before the micro MGIT could signal positive. Material/Methods: A total of 450 sputum samples of individual patients were used for the study. 152 isolates of Mycobacteria were recovered from solid and liquid media. These strains were tested for the detection of MPT64-antigen. H37Rv strain was served as the positive reference control and also used for early detection of Antigen experiment. Findings: The development of bands on both test and sample region when H37Rv strain was tested were seen (MPT64 antigen positive). When 138 MTB isolates were tested, it showed a similar banding pattern indicating 100% sensitivity. MPT64 band formation was not detected in any of the 14 isolates indicating 100% specificity. Both PPV & NPV were 100%. All the isolates negative for MPT64 Ag were confirmed as MOTT by conventional bio-chemical PNBA. The H37Rv strain showed a faint band from the 2nd day onwards from inoculation till 3rd day in the earlier Antigen detection experiment. Conclusion: Rapid identification of MTB culture isolate is a pressing need for diagnosis and proceeding to perform drug susceptibility testing. MPT64 TB Ag detection ICT kit is a rapid, reliable method, good substitute for molecular identification methods, and conventional biochemical test which is time-consuming and technically demanding. The early detection of Antigen can be used as an effective tool in diagnosis.

The concept of Multidisciplinary approach is not new to Medical Science. It is an evolving concept that is widely appreciated and adopted in most of the disciplines of medicine. It’s rational and applicable in the management of Child and Adolescent Depression,which needs to be revisited focusing on the interplay of various contextual factors that are entwined and tend to affect the course of the illness. The limitations of any one mental health professional in envisioning all possible dimensions of Child and Adolescent Depression make this approach all the more important wherein Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatric Social Workers collaborate with each other and other allied professionals in the treatment and management of the disorder. India, being a heavily populated country, where multidisciplinary management approach is in a phase of expansion and is practiced in many leading institutes to meet the quality needs of patients. This article focuses on the Indian scene of multidisciplinary management approach in child and adolescent depression.

A Review of Epilepsy Diagnosis Using PET Parameters

Epilepsy is caused by abnormal excessive electric discharges from the neurons in the brain. Epileptic seizures are non- specific responses of the brain to many types of insults. The structural abnormalities causing epilepsy can be identified using various state of art imaging methods. Through a combination of brain activity monitoring, imaging and mapping techniques, physicians can locate the specific area in the brain causing epileptic discharges and identify its location in relation to those areas in the brain controlling vital functions. Positron Emission Tomography (PET) has emerged as a useful tool to identify abnormal metabolic activity of the epileptogenic foci. Parameters like asymmetric index, stan- dard uptake value (SUV) etc obtained by PET are processed and analyzed for identifying the origin of epileptic sei- zures. This paper discuss the techniques used to diagnose in general and to localize the epileptogenic regions using post-processing other features on PET imaging.
