The morphological diversity of pollen in the genus Gossypium

Background Plant pollen has diverse morphological characteristics that can be consistently passed down from generation to *** on pollen morphology is thus immensely important for plant classification and *** the genus Gossypium,however,in-depth research on pollen morphology is lacking,with only few reports on limited cotton *** evaluate the diversity of pollen in Gossypium,we therefore conducted a comprehensive analysis of the pollen morphology of 33 cotton species and varieties using scanning electron *** The 33 analyzed cotton samples exhibited common pollen morphological features,including spherical shapes,radial symmetry,echination,panporation,and operculation,while the pollen size,spine shape,spine density and length showed distinctive *** size varied significantly among species,with diameters ranging from62.43 μm in *** to 103.41 μm in *** exine had an echinate sculptural texture,and spines were mostly conical or sharply conical but occasionally *** density varied from 173 in *** to 54 in ***,while spine length ranged from 3.53 μm in *** to 9.47 μm in *** addition,the 33cotton species and varieties were grouped at a genetic distance of 3.83 into three *** Ⅰ comprised five allotetraploid AD-genome cotton species,four D-genome species,and one K-genome *** Ⅱ included 13diploid species from A,B,D,E,and G genomes,whereas Cluster Ⅲ only consisted one E-genome species *** Although pollen characteristics alone are not enough to resolve taxonomic and systematic relationships within the genus Gossypium,our results add to knowledge on palynomorphology and contribute to phenological information on these *** findings should aid future systematic and phylogenetic studies of the Gossypium genus.

Background: Cotton is an important commercial crop for being a valuable source of natural *** production has undergone a sharp decline because of abiotic stresses,*** is one of the major abiotic stress causing significant yield losses in ***,plants have evolved self-defense mechanisms to cope abiotic factors like drought,salt,cold,*** evolution of stress responsive transcription factors such as the trihelix,a nodule-inception-like protein(NLP),and the late embryogenesis abundant proteins have shown positive response in the resistance improvement to several abiotic ***: Genome wide identification and characterization of the effects of Light-Harvesting Chloro a/b binding(LHC)genes were carried out in cotton under drought stress conditions.A hundred and nine proteins encoded by the LHC genes were found in the cotton genome,with 55,27,and 27 genes found to be distributed in Gossypium hirsutum,***,and ***,*** proteins encoded by the genes were unevenly distributed on various *** Ka/Ks(Non-synonymous substitution rate/Synonymous substitution rate)values were less than one,an indication of negative selection of the gene *** expressions of genes showed that majority of the genes are being highly upregulated in the roots as compared with leaves and stem *** genes were found to be highly expressed in MR-85,a relative drought tolerant ***: The results provide proofs of the possible role of the LHC genes in improving drought stress tolerance,and can be explored by cotton breeders in releasing a more drought tolerant cotton varieties.

Watermelon is a highly cultivated fruit crop renowned for its quality properties of fruit *** various quality factors,fruit flesh firmness is a crucial quality parameter influencing the fruit texture,shelf life and its commercial *** auxin/indole-3-acetic acid(Aux/IAA)plays a significant role in fruit development and ripening of non-climacteric ***,the regulatory mechanism of Aux/IAA in controlling fruit flesh firmness and ripening in watermelon remains *** this study,we employed an integrative approach combining genome-wide association study(GWAS)and bulked segregant RNA-Seq analysis(BSR-Seq)to identify an overlapping candidate region between 12776310 and 12968331 bp on chromosome 6,underlying an auxin-responsive gene(Aux/IAA)associated with flesh firmness in *** analysis,followed by real-time quantitative reverse transcription PCR(qRT-PCR),confirmed that the expression of Aux/IAA was consistently higher in fruits with high flesh *** sequence alignment revealed a single base mutation in the coding region of Aux/***,the concomitant Kompetitive/Competitive allele-specific PCR(KASP)genotyping data sets for F2 population and germplasm accessions identified Aux/IAA as a strong candidate gene associated with flesh ***/IAA was enriched in the plant hormone signal transduction pathway,involving cell enlargement and leading to low flesh *** determined the higher accumulation of abscisic acid(ABA)in fruits with low flesh firmness than hard ***,overexpression of Aux/IAA induced higher flesh firmness with an increased number of fruit flesh cells while reducing ABA content and flesh cell ***,the allelic variation in Aux/IAA for soft flesh firmness was found to exist in Citrullus mucosospermus and gradually fixed into Citrullus lanatus during domestication,indicating that soft flesh firmness was a domesticated *** findings significantly enhanced our unders

Evaluation of microstructure and mechanical properties of squeeze overcast Al7075-Cu composite joints

Al7075-Cu composite joints were prepared by the squeeze overcast *** effects of melt temperature,die temperature,and squeeze pressure on hardness and ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of squeeze overcast Al7075-Cu composite joints were *** experimental results depict that squeeze pressure is the most significant process parameter affecting the hardness and *** optimal values of UTS(48 MPa)and hardness(76 HRB)are achieved at a melt temperature of 800℃,a die temperature of 250℃,and a squeeze pressure of 90 *** electron microscopy(SEM)shows that fractured surfaces show flatfaced morphology at the optimal experimental ***-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS)analysis depicts that the atomic weight percentage of Zn decreases with an increase in melt temperature and squeeze *** optimal mechanical properties of the Al7075-Cu overcast joint were achieved at the Al2Cu eutectic phase due to the large number of copper atoms that dispersed into the aluminum melt during the solidification process and the formation of strong intermetallic *** relational analysis integrated with the Taguchi method was used to develop an optimal set of control variables for multi-response parametric *** tests were performed to validate the effectiveness of the employed *** manufacturing of squeeze overcast Al7075-Cu composite joints at optimal process parameters delivers a great indication to acknowledge a new method for foundry practitioners to manufacture materials with superior mechanical properties.

RUSAS: Roman Urdu Sentiment Analysis System

Sentiment analysis, the meta field of Natural Language Processing (NLP), attempts to analyze and identify thesentiments in the opinionated text data. People share their judgments, reactions, and feedback on the internetusing various languages. Urdu is one of them, and it is frequently used worldwide. Urdu-speaking people prefer tocommunicate on social media in Roman Urdu (RU), an English scripting style with the Urdu language *** have developed versatile lexical resources for features-rich comprehensive languages, but limitedlinguistic resources are available to facilitate the sentiment classification of Roman Urdu. This effort encompassesextracting subjective expressions in Roman Urdu and determining the implied opinionated text polarity. Theprimary sources of the dataset are Daraz (an e-commerce platform), Google Maps, and the manual effort. Thecontributions of this study include a Bilingual Roman Urdu Language Detector (BRULD) and a Roman UrduSpelling Checker (RUSC). These integrated modules accept the user input, detect the text language, correct thespellings, categorize the sentiments, and return the input sentence’s orientation with a sentiment intensity *** developed system gains strength with each input experience gradually. The results show that the languagedetector gives an accuracy of 97.1% on a close domain dataset, with an overall sentiment classification accuracy of94.3%.

Intensive agriculture activities,industrialization and growing numbers of wastewater treatment plants along river banks collectively contribute to the elevated levels of neurotoxic pollutants in natural water reservoirs across *** established an in vitro bioassay based upon neural stem cells isolated from the subventricular zone of the postnatal mouse to evaluate the neurotoxic potential of raw wastewater,treated sewage effluent,groundwater and drinking *** toxic potential of water samples was evaluated employing viability,proliferation,differentiation and migration *** found that raw wastewater could reduce the viability and proliferation of neural stem cells,and decreased the neuronal and astrocyte differentiation,neuronal neurite growth,astrocyte growth and cell *** sewage water also showed inhibitory effects on cell proliferation and *** results indicated that relatively high concentrations of nitrogenous substances,pesticides,mercuric compounds,bisphenol-A,and phthalates,along with some other pollutants in raw wastewater and treated sewage water,might be the reason for the neuroinhibitory effects of these water *** model successfully predicted the neurotoxicity of water samples collected from different sources and also revealed that the incomplete removal of contaminants from wastewater can be problematic for the developing nervous *** presented data also provides strong evidence that more effective treatments should be used to minimize the contamination of water before release into major water bodies which may be considered as water reservoirs for human usage in the future.

Provision of primary care by specialist physicians:a systematic review

Patients with stable chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension can be safely managed at the primary care *** many such patients continue to follow-up with specialists at a higher expense with no added *** introduce a new term to describe this phenomenon:scope inversion,defined as the provision of primary care by specialist *** aimed to quantify the extent of scope inversion by conducting a systematic *** and five other databases were searched using the keywords‘specialist AND(routine OR primary)AND provi*’as well as other *** search was limited to human research without restrictions on language or date of *** inclusion criterion was studies on rates of the provision of routine primary care by specialist *** observational studies met the inclusion criteria.A wide range of primary care involvement was observed among specialists,from 2.6%to 65%of clinic *** children,41.3%of visits with specialists were routine follow-ups for conditions such as allergic rhinitis and seborrhoeic dermatitis which could be managed in primary *** quality was moderate to low across the studies due to limitations of source data and varying definitions of primary *** physicians provide primary care to patients in a substantial proportion of clinic *** inversion is wasteful as it diverts patients to more expensive care without improving outcomes.A systems approach is needed to mitigate scope inversion and its harmful effects on healthcare service delivery.
