Thread-based multiplexed sensor patch for real-time sweat monitoring

Eu(Ⅲ) Indirect Probe to Investigate Interaction of DOPA (3,4,Di-Hydroxyphenylalanine) and Dopamine (3,4-Dihydroxy Phenyl Ethyl Amine) Using Electrochemical Methods

Eu（ Ⅲ ） can be utilized as an indirect electrochemical probe to investigate the interaction of bio-molecules such as DOPA and Dopamine with Ca（ Ⅱ ） in vitro. The interaction of DOPA and Dopamine with Eu（ Ⅲ ）-Eu（ Ⅱ ） redox pair was investigated by electrochemical techniques. Both the neurotransmitters are structurally related and undergo interaction with Eu （Ⅲ ）. Eu （ Ⅲ ） coordinates with DOPA and Dopamine through five-member chelate tings via carboxylic oxygen and amino nitrogen. The electrode kinetic parameters viz, transfer coefficient （αna）, diffusion coefficient （D）, forward heterogeneous rate constant （ k^0 fh） were evaluated for Eu（ Ⅲ ）-DOPA/Eu（ Ⅲ ）-Dopamine. The results obtained were used to investigate the nature of interaction of Eu （Ⅲ） with muhi-donor biomolecules. The possible mechanism was also proposed.

This study was designed to evaluate the bioactivities such asβ-glucosidase activity,α-galactosidase activity,and the growth behavior of the Lactobacillus cultures in soy milk *** Lactobacillus cultures were considered in this ***(M2)and ***(NK9)were selected due to their betterα-galactosidase,β-glucosidase activity and growth behavior in soy milk medium during ***,soy milk fermented with M2 showed higher proteolytic activity(0.67 OD)and ACE-inhibitory(48.44%)than NK9(proteolytic activity:0.48 OD and ACE-inhibitory activity:41.33%).Bioactive peptides produced during the fermentation of soy milk using the selected Lactobacillus cultures were also identified with potent ACE-inhibitory activity by MALDI-TOF spectrometry,and the identified ACE inhibitory peptide sequences from fermented soy milk were characterized using Biopep database.

Adenocarcinoma of the lung infrequently metastasizes to the gastrointestinal tract. We report a rare case of a 65-year-old male with no respiratory symptoms diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the lung by histopathological examination of metastatic sites which included an ulcer in the gastric body and a mass in the rectum. Metastatic disease also involved the liver as well. Patient was treated with systemic chemotherapy but unfortunately expired five months after the diagnosis was made.

Catharanthus roseus:a natural source for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles

Objective:To develop a simple rapid procedure for bioreduction of silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)using aqueous leaves extracts of Catharanthus roseus(***).Methods:Characterization were determined by using UV-Vis spectrophotometry,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray and X-ray ***:SEM showed the formation of silver nanoparticles with an average size of 67 nm to 48 nm.X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the particles were crystalline in nature with face centered cubic ***:*** demonstrates strong potential for synthesis of silver nanoparticles by rapid reduction of silver ions(Ag^+ to Ag^0).This study provides evidence for developing large scale commercial production of value-added products for biomedical/nanotechnology-based industries.

A rapid-assessment model on the potential of district energy:The case of Temuco in Chile

District energy systems(DES)offer an optimal solution for decarbonising the heating and cooling sector while attaining multiple additional *** first step to analyse the potential of DES in both new and existing markets is through rapid assessments(RA).Currently,publicly available models lack rapid assessments of the technical-economic and environmental potential of *** RA model was developed within the framework of UNEP’s District Energy in Cities Initiative to identify DES’s potential spending low time and monetary *** this light,the study presents a model for conducting a rapid assessment applied to the case of Temuco,*** show that a total of 55 MW DH(district heating)capacity is required to cover the heating demand.A wood-chip boiler of 25 MW capacity and a gas boiler of 30 MW capacity are considered in the *** total CAPEX of the project is around 25 billion CLP,with a NPV of 10.5 billion CLP and an IRR of 14%.The project is also estimated to achieve an annual reduction of 24,382 tons of PM10 and 23,692 tons of *** model was validated against an independent study conducted by an international consulting company,and the results were found to be in close proximity with the ***,the model can be an effective tool for performing rapid assessments of DES projects in the region and subjecting attractive projects to more detailed pre-feasibility analysis.

Evaluation of Daylight Parameters on the Basis Simulation Model for the Tropical Climate

Use of natural daylight in the building is energy saving with respect to illumination levels and health *** in,the hot and dry climatic zone increase in daylight availability may result into thermal *** might lead to excess energy *** aim of this paper is to evolve the methodology which could be used as a pre design tool for assessing the lighting provisions and thermal performance of spaces within buildings adopted by designers during the design *** field measurements were conducted on the liveable spaces of a dwelling unit of the Nagpur *** studies using Ecotect Analysis 2011 was conducted for both illumination and thermal *** field measurements were compared with the simulated *** has been found that the percentage difference(PD)between the Ecotect measurements(EM)and field measurements(FM)for both thermal loads and an illuminance level was less than 15%,the simulated model was considered precise for further *** result imply that the simulated model would be ample for designers to evaluate the parameters associated to wall to window ratio,shading devices with respect to orientation of the building which helps to achieve the optimum useful daylight index.
