Impact of chosen force fields and applied load on thin film lubrication

The rapid development of molecular dynamics(MD)simulations,as well as classical and reactive atomic potentials,has enabled tribologists to gain new insights into lubrication performance at the fundamental ***,the impact of adopted potentials on the rheological properties and tribological performance of hydrocarbons has not been researched *** extensive study analyzed the effects of surface structure,applied load,and force field(FF)on the thin film lubrication of *** lubricant film became more solid‐like as the applied load *** particular,with increasing applied load,there was an increase in the velocity slip,shear viscosity,and *** degree of ordering structure also changed with the applied load but rather *** was also significantly dependent on the surface *** chosen FFs significantly influenced the lubrication performance,rheological properties,and molecular *** adaptive intermolecular reactive empirical bond order(AIREBO)potential resulted in more significant liquid‐like behaviors,and the smallest velocity slip,degree of ordering structure,and shear stress were compared using the optimized potential for liquid simulations of united atoms(OPLS‐UAs),condensed‐phase optimized molecular potential for atomic simulation studies(COMPASS),and ***,classical potentials,such as OPLS‐UA and COMPASS,exhibit more solid‐like behavior than reactive potentials ***,owing to the solid‐like behavior,the lubricant temperatures obtained from OPLS‐UA and COMPASS were much lower than those obtained from AIREBO and *** increase in shear stress,as well as the decrease in velocity slip with an increase in the surface potential parameterζ,remained conserved for all chosen FFs,thus indicating that the proposed surface potential parameterζfor the COMPASS FF can be verified for a wide range of atomic models.

Assessment of Livelihood Vulnerability to Drought: A Case Study in Dak Nong Province, Vietnam

In recent years,droughts have strongly affected the Central Highlands of Vietnam and have resulted in crop damage,yield decline,and serious water *** study investigated the livelihood vulnerability of five communities of farmers who are exposed to droughts in one of the more vulnerable regions of Vietnam—Dak Nong Province.A survey of 250 households was conducted in the five communities to collect data on the region’s sociodemographic profile,livelihood systems,social networks,health status,food and water security,drought conditions,and climate *** were aggregated using a livelihood vulnerability index and the IPCC vulnerability *** survey results indicate that Quang Phu community is the most vulnerable of the study’s communities,followed by Nam N’dir,Dak Nang,Duc Xuyen,and Dak D’ro in descending order of *** availability and livelihood strategies are the most important variables in determining the vulnerability of the five surveyed *** order to reduce vulnerability to droughts,water management practices and livelihood diversification in farming and nonfarming activities are recommended for the study area.

Nonlinear dynamic analysis of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite plates using MISQ20 element

The main objective of this study is to further extend the mixed integration smoothed quadrilateral element with 20 unknowns of displacement(MISQ20)to investigate the nonlinear dynamic responses of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite(FG-CNTRC)plates with four types of carbon nanotube *** smooth finite element method is used to enhance the accuracy of the Q4 element and avoid shear locking without using any shear correction *** method yields accurate results even if the element exhibits a concave quadrilateral shape and reduces the error when the element meshing is ***,the element stiffness matrix is established by integrating the boundary of the smoothing *** motion equation of the FG-CNTRC plates is solved by adapting the Newmark method combined with the Newton–Raphson ***,the calculation program is coded in the MATLAB software and verified by comparing it with other published ***,the effects of the input parameters on the nonlinear vibration of the plates are investigated.

COVID-19 vaccination intention among healthcare workers in Vietnam

Objective:To assess the acceptance of coronavirus disease(COVID-19)vaccine among healthcare workers at two general hospitals in Vietnam when it is ***:A cross-sectional study was conducted using a convenience sampling from January to February 2021 among 410 healthcare workers at two general hospitals in Vietnam via a selfadministered questionnaire.A multivariable regression analysis was performed to determine predictors of vaccine acceptance including the demographic factors,COVID-19 knowledge,and vaccine beliefs based on the domains of Health Belief ***:Among 410 healthcare workers,76.10%showed vaccination *** of acceptance were determined that the group reporting as“vaccine acceptance”was more likely to be positive towards the perceived susceptibility and severity of COVID-19(OR 2.45;95%CI 1.48-4.06,P<0.05),perceived benefits of vaccination,and cues to action(OR 4.36;95%CI 2.35-8.09,and OR 5.49;95%CI 2.84-10.61,respectively,all P<0.001),but less likely to have the perceived barriers to vaccination(OR 0.19;95%CI 0.09-0.38;P<0.001)compared with the no acceptance ***,people who had a good knowledge regarding the severity of illness were 3.37 times more likely to have identified as vaccine acceptance(OR 3.37;95%CI 1.04-10.86,P<0.05).The demographic factors were also associated with willingness to receive the vaccine,with participants who were staff and received COVID-19 information from relatives were less likely to accept the vaccine over those who were doctors and not receiving information from relatives(OR 0.36;95%CI 0.13-0.96,and OR 0.37;95%CI 0.17-0.78,respectively,all P<0.05).Conclusions:A rate of willingness to get vaccinated against COVID-19 was relatively high with discrepancies between occupation,receiving information from relatives,knowledge toward the severity of illness,and the elements of Health Belief *** findings will provide information for the management authorities to develop relevant interv

Non-secretory multiple myeloma expressed as multiple extramedullary plasmacytoma with an endobronchial lesion mimicking metastatic cancer:A case report

BACKGROUND Non-secretory multiple myeloma(MM)is a rare condition that accounts for only 3%of MM cases and is defined by normal serum and urine immunofixation and a normal serum free light chain ***-secretory MM with multiple extramedullary plasmacytomas derived from endobronchial lesions is extremely rare and can be misdiagnosed as metastasis of solid *** SUMMARY A 36-year-old man presented with progressive facial swelling and nasal congestion with *** imaging studies revealed an endobronchial mass in the left bronchus and a large left maxillary mass with multiple destructive bone metastatic *** initially presented with lung cancer and multiple ***,pathologic reports showed multiple extramedullary plasmacytomas in the left maxilla and the left *** was no change in the serum and urine monoclonal protein levels,and no abnormalities were observed in laboratory examinations,including hemoglobin,calcium,and creatinine *** bone marrow was hypercellular,with 13.49%plasma *** patient was diagnosed with non-secretory MM expressed as multiple extramedullary plasmacytomas with endobronchial lesions in a rare *** therapy for symptomatic lesions with high-dose dexamethasone was started,and the size of the left maxillary sinus lesion dramatically *** the future,chemotherapy will be administered to control lesions in other *** We present a rare case of non-secretory MM with multiple extramedullary plasmacytoma with an endobronchial lesion.

Fabrication and Characterization of Multi-layer Heat Mirror with Photocatalytic Properties

A novel TiO2（5）/TiO2（buffer）/Ti（4）/Ag（3）/Ti（2）/TiO2（1） multi-layer film coating with corning glass is designed and fabricated by a dc magnetron sputtering method as a renovation of the well-known TiO2/Ti/Ag/Ti/TiO2 system in order to obtain a heat mirror system with photocatalytic properties due to sufficient thickness of the Ti02 layer. The outer TiO2 layer is fabricated in two steps, possibly claimed as two layers TiO2（5） and TiO2（buuer）, among which TiO2（buffer） the 70-nm-thick layer deposited in poor oxygen effectively minimizes the oxidation toward its neighbor Ti（4） layer. The optimal total thickness of the TiO2（5） and TiO（buffer） di-layer is found to be 300nm to yield a highly photo-catalytic property of the film without affecting the optical properties considerably. this multi-layer film can transmit light of above 75-85% in the visible spectrum （380 ≤ λ≤ 760 nm） and reflect radiation of above 90% in the infrared spectrum （ λ≥760 nm）. Such multi-layer coatings are strongly recommended not only as promising transparent heat mirrors but also as photo-catalytic films for architectural window coatings.

Hydrodynamic optimization of a triswach

A new methodology for hydrodynamic optimization of a Tri SWACH is developed, which considers not only the positions of the side hulls but also the shape of the side hulls. In order to account for the strong near-field interference effects between closely-spaced multihulls, an integrated hydrodynamic computational tool that consists of a potential-flow based simple CFD tool and an Euler/RANS/Navier-Stokes based advanced CFD tool has been further developed and integrated into a practical multiobjective hydrodynamic optimization tool. The other components of this hydrodynamic optimization tool consist of a hull shape representation and modification module and an optimization module. this enhanced multi-objective hydrodynamic optimization tool has been applied to the hydrodynamic design optimization of the Tri SWACH for reduced drag by optimizing the side hulls only. A new methodology is developed to optimize side hull forms so that the Tri SWACH has a minimal drag for a wide speed range and for various side hull positions. Two sets of the side hulls are developed and used for the design of two optimal Tri SWACH models. Model tests are carried out for two optimal Tri SWACH models at Webb Institute for validations. Substantial drag reductions have been obtained for a wide range of speed.
