Anodic aluminum oxide （AAO） with highly ordered nanoscale pores which are monodisperse and mutually parallel can be produced through a self-organized electrochemical process. Subsequent deposition of materials into the nanopores produces AA0 embedded nanowire arrays. Whilst the templates can be further removed to obtain free individual nanowires, the em- bedded nanowires form an interesting nanocomposite structure. Recent research activities on the fabrication and characteriza- tion of AAO template based magnetic nanowires are reviewed in this article. Studies of specific systems are given as an exam- ple of the research in the area.

In the studies of fate and transport of air emissions from animal feeding operations,Gaussian based dispersion models have been commonly used to predict downwind pollutant concentrations through forward modeling approach,or to derive emission rates and emission factors through inverse dispersion modeling *** the Gaussian dispersion modeling process,downwind sampling location and sampling height could generate significant impact on accuracy of the model validation,or inverse modeling results based upon field *** study theoretically analyzed the impact of downwind locations and sampling height on Gaussian dispersion *** was discovered that the field sampling needs to be conducted at the locations beyond the plume touching-ground distance,at a downwind distance as short as 5 m for the case scenario with zero rise of emission plume under the atmospheric stability class C,or as long as 297 m for the case scenario with 15 m rise of emission plume under the atmospheric stability class *** order to measure the Pm concentrations of the dispersion plume,the minimum sampling height at the locations within the plume touching-ground distance varied from ground level to as high as almost 14 m,whereas for the locations beyond the plume touching-ground distance,a sampling height of ground level would be acceptable.

To control water impairment in urban storm- water, it is important to evaluate changing patterns of water quality parameters in stormwater runoff. Thus, the authors performed a series of experiments to investigate the dynamics of common water parameters during storm events in semi-arid areas, with multiple samples collected and analyzed in field stormwater applications. At this field monitoring site within mcAuliffe Park, mcAllen, Texas, in the United States, a storm event increased the concentra- tions of Escherichia coli （E. coli）, but this event represented a decreasing trend over the entire event period. Besides, peak intensity of different pollutants in the stormwater runoff occurred at different times other than at any peak flows, representing a complexity of the temporal and spatial measurements. multi-sample per- event approaches recommended based on the complexity of the hydrograph and different peak intensity times of pollutants. In addition, high bacteria and total suspended solids （TSS） concentrations in the initial stage of the storm event should be considered when designing Best manage- ment Practices （BmPs） and Low Impact Developments （LIDs）. New strategies and solutions for addressing ecohydrological challenges should be proposed to avoid collateral damages to their both common wealth in ecosystems and human well-beings.

Introduction: Since the Australian Government introduced the “Better Access to mental Health Services” program in 2006, psychiatrists, psychologists and general practitioners (GPs) have become increasingly involved in service provision for people seeking help with mental health problems. The aim of this research was to a) explore psychologists’ perceptions of difficult to treat depression (DTTD) and b) explore what they thought about the GPs’ role in managing these patient given that most patients are referred to psychologist by GPs. methods: A previously developed semi-structured interview schedule comprising six questions was used. Seven psychologists participated in a focus group held in melbourne. Data were analysed using the framework method. Findings, including Discussion: While psychologists understood the term DTTD it was suggested that using different terms may limit understanding between health professionals. Rather than diagnosing, psychologists were more likely to conduct further assessment contextually to confirm GPs’ diagnosis. Communication with GPs was important, particularly when managing “long-term” and suicidal patients. management included cognitive and behavioural interventions and referring to other mental health services, psychiatrists and/or other allied health professionals. Referral to psychiatrists could be difficult because of limited availability and for some patients, prohibitive costs. Although psychologists discussed non-pharmacological and/or complementary treatment options with patients, they were more likely to rely on GPs to discuss/prescribe these options. Conclusion: While generalisability may be limited, this study is the first to document some understanding of psychologists perceptions of DTTD and the importance of GPs and other health professionals’ role in managing this patient cohort.

Introduction: For patients, GPs are the most accessible medical resource in the community and are the gatekeepers to other community resources including psychiatrists. Qualifying as a psychiatrist in Australia involves completing a five-year training program that includes rotations in hospitals and community settings. The aims of this research were to 1) explore psychiatry registrars’ perceptions of difficult-to-treat-depression (DTTD) and 2) what they thought about the GPs’ role in this regard. methods: A semi-structured interview schedule comprising six questions was used;10 psychiatry registrars (6 females, 4 males) participated in a one-and-half-hour focus group. All were in their final year of training and undertaking a training post in a public hospital in melbourne, Australia. Data were analysed using the Framework method. Findings: Similar to GPs and GP trainees, psychiatry registrars’ perceptions and understanding of DTTD varied. While acknowledging limited experience in diagnosis and management, issues important to them included the utility of labels such as DTTD;patients distressed because of another diagnosis, substance abuse and/or life problems, the importance of accurate histories and notes, cost and limited availability of services particularly in the private sector, prescribing regimens, referring to allied health professionals, and suggesting/prescribing non pharmacological and/or complementary treatment. Also what was of concern was communication, both between health professionals and between health professionals and patients. Consensus was that treating depression in general practice is one of the hardest things for GPs to manage but there was value in using mental health plans. Discussion and Conclusion: While this cohort was small in number with limited experience, this study is the first to contribute to the literature that provides some insight into psychiatry registrars’ experiences and perceptions of DTTD. Background: Team based care is an essential ingredient of chronic disease management including chronic mental illness. Effective health care teams include members who have defined, yet intersecting roles, where mutual respect characterises professional interaction and the patient’s well-being is central. The aim was to explore the perception of psychologists, psychiatry registrars and psychiatrists with respect to GPs’ role in managing difficult-to-treat-depression (DTTD). methods: A previously developed semi-structured interview schedule comprising six questions was used. Thirty-two health professionals participated. Data were analysed using the Framework method. Findings: Four main themes emerged: 1) The team approach was important, particularly to ensure information accuracy and/or when responding to patient needs and pressures;2) Referrals, usually generated by GPs can be a vehicle for other health professionals to provide advice to the GP;3) Availability and accessibility often depended on health professionals work location and knowing how to navigate the system;4) Limited availability of government funding impacts on patients’ accessibility to health professionals. Discussion: Interprofessional relationships were described as paramount. Appropriate and timely referrals are integral to patient management, regardless of challenges. Ongoing challenges include program funding, workforce numbers and costs to patients. Improvement to mental health care access was noted, even for patients among relatively disadvantaged groups and those receiving medicare Benefits Schedule-subsidised services. Conclusion: Despite adequate GP/specialist communication, the delivery of optimal team based care to patients with difficult-to-treat depression is compromised by lack of access to specialised services and inadequate funding.

Purpose:The aim of this mixed-studies systematic review was to ascertain the effectiveness of school-based interventions in increasing physical activity(PA) and/or reducing sedentary time(ST) in children aged 5-11 years,as well as to explore their effectiveness in relation to categories of the theory of expanded,extended,and enhanced opportunity(TEO).methods:Adhering to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and meta-Analyses(PRISmA) guidelines,5 databases were searched using predefined search *** title and abstract screening of 1115 records,the removal of duplicates(n=584) and articles that did not meet the inclusion criteria agreed to a priori(n=419) resulted in 112 records that were full-text *** independent reviewers subsequently used the mixed-methods appraisal tool to assess the methodological quality of 57 full-text studies that met the inclusion criteria after full-text *** interventions were summarised using the TIDierR checklist and *** strength of evidence was determined using a 5-level rating system utilising a published decision ***:Overall evidence ratings for interventions implemented within school settings were:no evidence of effects on moderate-to-vigorous physical activity(mVPA) and inconclusive evidence of effects on sedentary *** relation to the TEO,expansion of PA appeared to be the most promising intervention type for mVPA,with moderate evidence of effect,whereas extension and enhancement of PA opportunity demonstrated no evidence of effect.A critical issue of possible compensatory behavior was identified by analysis of intervention effect in relation to PA measurement duration;when studies measured changes in PA during the actual intervention,there was moderate evidence of effect,whereas those that measured changes in PA during the school day presented inconclusive evidence of effect,and those that measured changes in PA over a whole day yielded no evidence of *** meta-analys

Structural,optical and magnetic properties are reported for new synthesized perovskite ***_(0.3)La_(0.7)Ti_(0.3)Fe_(0.7)O_(3) and Ba_(0.1)La_(0.9)Ti_(0.1)Fe_(0.9)O_(3) compositions were prepared via solid state reaction.X-ray analysis confirms that both compositions show feature of perovskite *** refinement method was used to confirm the phase formation and investigate the structure and space *** study demonstrates the formation of orthorhombic structure with Pnma space group for Ba_(0.3)La_(0.7)Ti_(0.3)Fe_(0.7)O_(3) while the composition Ba_(0.1)La_(0.9)Ti_(0.1)Fe_(0.9)O_(3) structure adopts Pbnm ***–vis spectroscopy measurements show very broad and intense UV–visible light absorption,the estimated band gap ranges between 2.07 and 2.15 *** measurements were carried out for the compositions Ba_(0.3)La_(0.7)Ti_(0.3)Fe_(0.7)O_(3) and Ba_(0.1)La_(0.9)Ti_(0.1)Fe_(0.9)O_(3).The hysteresis loops of both samples at 300 and 10 K show a strong ferromagnetic *** temperature dependent magnetization at 0.05 T under field-cooled(FC)and zero field cooled(ZFC)modes shows magnetic frustration or spin glass-like behavior.

BACKGROUND:Ectopic pancreas is defined as pancreatic tissue found outside its usual anatomical position,with no ductal or vascular communication with the native pancreas. We describe a case of ectopic pancreas of the small bowel and mesentery causing recurrent episodes of pancreatitis, initially suspected on computed tomography(CT)and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography(mRCP),and confirmed on histological review of the resection. mETHODS:A 67-year-old woman presented with clinical symptoms and biochemical evidence of *** had similar episodes over the past 30 years with unrevealing investigations,and was concluded to have idiopathic pancreatitis. She underwent CT and mRCP,with findings suggestive of ectopic pancreas,a diagnosis confirmed on histology of the resection. RESULTS:mRCP identified a mass in the proximal small bowel mesentery isointense to the native pancreas,with a small duct draining into a proximal jejunal *** resected specimen consisted of normal parenchyma with lobulated acinar tissue with scattered islets of Langerhans,an occasional ductular structure,and admixed areas of adipose *** patient remained asymptomatic with normal biochemistry six months post-operatively. CONCLUSION:In an individual with abdominal pain,elevated serum amylase/lipase,but imaging findings of a normal native pancreas,ectopic pancreatitis should be considered,and can be evaluated by CT and mRCP.
