Evaluation under Semi-Controlled Conditions of the Pathogenicity of Three Isolates of Phaeoisariopsis personata (Berk. & M.A Curt.)

Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) late leaf spot is an important disease caused by Phaeoisariopsis personata (Berk. Et M. A Curt.). This fungus is responsible for the most damaging leaf spots in peanut production. The present experiment was undertaken to evaluate the pathogenic variability of Phaeoisariopsis personata in Burkina Faso. To this end, detached leaves and healthy plants of three peanut varieties were inoculated. Isolates I3TF, I2TG and I1TK of the pathogen (105 conidia/ml), collected respectively in the western, central and eastern agroecological zones of country, were used. The inoculated leaves were kept in Petri dishes on moist blotting paper and stored in the laboratory during the experimental period. The inoculated plants were grown under glass in pots containing a mixture of sterilized sand and clay. The development of disease was monitored and severity was scored every 15 days using rating scale. The results obtained in the laboratory and in the greenhouse revealed that there is pathogenic variability in the isolates tested. Indeed, for each variety, the highest severity score was recorded in plants inoculated with isolate I3TF and the lowest severity score with isolate I1TG. In the laboratory the severity scores ranged from 6.76 to 8.80 in TS32-1, 6.18 to 8.29 in SH70P and 5.98 to 7.92 in PC79-79. In the greenhouse, the average severity scores ranged from 5.61 to 8.33 in TS32-1, from 5.19 to 8.00 in SH70P, from 4.90 to 7.50 in PC79-79. Thus, the variety TS32-1 was the most susceptible to all three isolates of the pathogen.

Assessing the Pathogenic Ability of Six Species of Fusarium Genus on Onion Variety in Burkina Faso

Prema 178 onion variety is widely used in production in Burkina Faso. It is greatly appreciated but susceptible to basal rot. This study aimed to evaluate the pathogenic ability of six strains of Fusarium genus identified in Burkina Faso on onion. Seeds, seedlings and bulbs were used for the test. A conidial suspension of each strain was made in tubes and adjusted to 1 × 106 conidia/ml with distilled water for the different tests. Germination test in the laboratory and greenhouse showed that all treatments with the strains of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cepae, F. solani, F. falciforme, F. acutatum, F. proliferatum and F. sp. induced failure to emerge and showed a significant difference with the control. The different strains also induced stunting rates of coleoptile growth. Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cepae, F. acutatum, F. proliferatum, F. falciforme and F. solani were very aggressive, as they recorded above 50% damping-off rates. The test on the bulbs revealed that the strains were classified into two groups. The first consists of F. oxysporum f. sp. cepae, F. solani, F. falciforme, F. acutatum, which caused rots with respective lengths from 2.06;1.48;1.84;1.46 and 2.12 cm, thus very aggressive according to Ghanbarzadeh scale. The second is formed by F. proliferatum which recorded 0.90 cm of rot length, thus moderately aggressive. It would be appropriate to suggest a sustainable management method for these pathogens in order to improve the yield of onion production.

Late leaf spot caused by Cercosporidium personatum is one of the most widespread groundnut leaf diseases. Along with early leaf spot and rust, it is one of the main fungal diseases hampering groundnut production worldwide. Late leaf spot accounts for significant yield losses throughout the world where groundnuts are grown. This reduction in yield caused by the disease could result in yield losses of between 50% and 70%. In Burkina Faso, the disease is present throughout the country, with incidence varying according to region and season. Could the variability in the incidence of the disease be linked to the nature of the isolates or to the conditions from each agro-ecological zone? In this study, the aim was to assess the capacity of three isolates from three agroclimatic zones of the country to defoliate and reduce groundnut yield. To this end, three isolates of Cercosporidium personatum (Berk. Et M.A Curt.) were collected in these zones and evaluated on three contrasting groundnut varieties. A split-splot design was used for the experiment. Isolates were prepared from samples collected in farmers’ fields. After incubation in the laboratory, leaf spots showing good sporulation were scraped off with a scalpel after immersing the leaves in distilled water. Inoculations were carried out under controlled environment. After inoculation with the isolate, the percentage of defoliation and the reduction in yield of these varieties were then evaluated. Inoculation was carried out from the 30th day after sowing with Cercosporidium personatum spore suspensions at 105 spores/ml. The study showed that the percentage of defoliation (P = 0.0001) and the reduction in yield (P = 0.0001) were significant. The study revealed that, whatever the variety, isolate I3TF from the Upper Basins region in the South Sudanese zone caused the greatest defoliation and the greatest reduction in yield. General Mean-Field BDSDEs with Continuous and Stochastic Linear Growth Coefficients

In this paper, the authors study a class of general mean-field BDSDEs whose coefficients satisfy some stochastic conditions. Specifically, the authors prove the existence and uniqueness theorem of solution under stochastic Lipschitz condition and obtain the related comparison theorem. Besides,the authors further relax the conditions and deduce the existence theorem of solutions under stochastic linear growth and continuous conditions, and the authors also prove the associated comparison ***, an asset pricing problem is discussed, which demonstrates the application of the general mean-field BDSDEs in finance.

A Survey of Synthetic Data Augmentation Methods in Machine Vision

The standard approach to tackling computer vision problems is to train deep convolutional neural network(CNN)models using large-scale image datasets that are representative of the target ***,in many scenarios,it is often challenging to obtain sufficient image data for the target *** augmentation is a way to mitigate this challenge.A common practice is to explicitly transform existing images in desired ways to create the required volume and variability of training data necessary to achieve good generalization *** situations where data for the target domain are not accessible,a viable workaround is to synthesize training data from scratch,i.e.,synthetic data *** paper presents an extensive review of synthetic data augmentation *** covers data synthesis approaches based on realistic 3D graphics modelling,neural style transfer(NST),differential neural rendering,and generative modelling using generative adversarial networks(GANs)and variational autoencoders(VAEs).For each of these classes of methods,we focus on the important data generation and augmentation techniques,general scope of application and specific use-cases,as well as existing limitations and possible ***,we provide a summary of common synthetic datasets for training computer vision models,highlighting the main features,application domains and supported ***,we discuss the effectiveness of synthetic data augmentation *** this is the first paper to explore synthetic data augmentation methods in great detail,we are hoping to equip readers with the necessary background information and in-depth knowledge of existing methods and their attendant issues.

Design of an automated robotic microinjection system for batch injection of zebrafish embryos and larvae

This paper presents the design of a vision-based automated robotic microinjection system for batch injection of both zebrafish embryos and larvae.A novel visual recognition algorithm based on an automatic threshold and excessive dilatation is introduced to accurately identify the center of zebrafish embryos and larval yolks.A corresponding software system is developed using the producer-consumer model as the framework structure,and a friendly user interface is designed to allow operators to choose from a range of desired functions according to their different *** addition,a novel microstructural agarose device is designed and fabricated to simultaneously immobilize mixed batches of embryos and ***,a prototype microinjection system is fabricated by integrating hardware devices with visual *** experimental study is conducted to verify the performance of the robotic microinjection *** results show that the reported system can accurately identify zebrafish embryos and larvae and efficiently complete batch microinjection tasks of the mixtures with an injection success rate of 92.05%in 13.88 s per *** with manual and existing microinjection systems,the proposed system demonstrates the merits of versatility,excellent efficiency,high success rate,high survival rate,and sufficient stability.

Generalized Laws of Importation and Cross-Migrativity Based on(D, N)-Implications

In the present article we study the generalized laws of importation and crossmigrativity based on(D, N)-implications. On the one hand, we consider the generalized law of importation I(T(x, α), y) = I(x, J(α, y)), when T is concretized as a fuzzy conjunction C, I and J are concretized as(D, N)-implications generated by a fuzzy disjunction D and a fuzzy negation N. On the other hand, we discuss the cross-migrativity of fuzzy disjunctions over fuzzy implications, that is, I(x, D(y, z)) = D(y, I(x, z)), where I is a fuzzy implication, D is a fuzzy disjunction. In addition, we study the relationship between the(α-)cross-migrative of(I, D) and the(α-)cross-law of importation(I, ID,N, C).

Impact of Local Climate Zones on the Urban Heat and Dry Islands in Beijing:Spatial Heterogeneity and Relative Contributions

Based on the building height and density data on a 100-m resolution,hourly 2-m temperature and humidity data at83 automatic weather stations,and gridded local climate zone(LCZ)data on a 120-m resolution in urban Beijing in2020,this study first employs the semivariogram combined with building parameters to calculate spatial correlations and has identified an LCZ grid resolution of 500 m suitable for best usage of the available observation ***,how the spatially heterogeneous LCZs affect and contribute to the canopy urban heat island intensity(UHII)and urban dry island intensity(UDII)are quantitatively *** is found that UHII is high in winter and low in summer with a unimodal diurnal variation while UDI is low in winter but high in summer with a bimodal diurnal *** LCZ with compact mid-rise(open high-rise)buildings exhibits the highest UHII(UDII),followed by the compact high-rise(compact low-rise),while the LCZ of scattered trees presents both the lowest UHII and the lowest *** most significant difference in the UHII(UDII)among the nine LCZ types in the urban area of Beijing is2.62℃(1.1 g kg^(-1)).Area-weighted averaging analysis reveals that the open mid-rise LCZ is the most significant contributor to the UHII(UDII),immediately followed by compact mid-rise(open low-rise),with the least contribution from bare rock or paved(scattered trees).The results also indicate that beyond the intrinsic physical properties of the LCZs of a city,their area proportions cannot be overlooked in evaluating their impact on the UHI and *** quantitatively findings could help urban planners to create a livable urban climate and environment by adjusting the relevant land use.

Herein,we report a condition-controlled divergent synthesis of spiro indene-2,1'-isoindolinones and spiro isochroman-3,1'-isoindolinones through cobalt-catalyzed formal[4+1]and[4+1+1]spirocyclization of aromatic amides with 2-diazo-1H-indene-1,3(2H)-*** the reaction is carried out under air in ethyl acetate,spiro indene-2,1'-isoindolinones are formed through Co(II)-catalyzed C—H/N—H[4+1]*** the reaction is run under O2 in CH3CN,on the other hand,spiro isochroman-3,1'-isoindolinones are generated through Baeyer-Villiger oxidation of the in situ formed spiro indene-2,1'-isoindolinones with O2 as a cheaper and environmental-friendly oxygen *** general,these protocols have advantages such as using non-precious and earth-abundant metal catalyst,no extra additive,high efficiency and regioselectivity.A gram-scale synthesis and the removal of the directing group further highlight its utility.
