Impacts of dietary supplementation of bamboo vinegar and charcoal powder on growth performance,intestinal morphology,and gut microflora of large-scale loach Paramisgurnus dabryanus

Although accumulating data demonstrate that dietary supplementation of bamboo vinegar and charcoal powder(BVC)can significantly strengthen the immunity and boost the growth of domestic animals,its application potency still awaits verification in commercial fish species such as the large-scale loach Paramisgurnus *** impacts of 90-day dietary supplementation of 1%and 2%BVC on survival and growth performance of the loach,and on the intestinal morphological characteristics and gut microflora were *** data show that the large-scale loach supplied with BVC at the experimental doses had significant higher survival rates and better growth performance(indicated by greater weight gain(1.13–1.14 times),higher specific growth rate(1.04 times),and lower feed conversion ratio(0.88–0.89 times))compared to that of the control(P<0.05).Histological examination revealed significant longer villus(3.22–5.54 times),deeper crypt(1.77–1.87 times),and thicker muscle(1.59–3.17 times)in the intestines of large-scale loach fed with BVC(P<0.05).Furthermore,we found that the gut microflora consisted of significantly fewer proportions of potential pathogenic bacterial species(Aeromonas veronii and Escherichia coli),but significantly greater proportions of beneficial microbes(Lactococus raffinolactis and Faecalibacterium prausnitzii).Therefore,dietary intake of BVC can promote intestinal tract development and optimize gut microflora,by which the survival and growth of large-scale loach may be improved.

Combined pars plana vitrectomy and Baerveldt glaucoma implant placement for refractory glaucoma

AIMTo evaluate outcomes of combined pars plana vitrectomy and Baerveldt glaucoma implant (PPV-BGI) placement for refractory *** medical records of 92 eyes (89 patients) that underwent PPV-BGI were retrospectively reviewed, including 43 eyes with neovascular glaucoma (NVG) and 49 eyes with other types of glaucoma (non-NVG).RESULTSOutcome measures were visual acuity (VA), intraocular pressure (IOP), glaucoma medical therapy, complications, and success [VA>hand motions (HM), IOP≥6 mm Hg and ≤21 mm Hg, no subsequent glaucoma surgery]. Cumulative success rates for the non-NVG group and NVG group were 79% and 40% at 1y, respectively (P=0.038). No difference in the rates of surgical success were found between pars plana and anterior chamber tube placement. Preoperative IOP (mean±SD) was 30.3±11.7 mm Hg in the Non-NVG group and 40.0±10.6 mm Hg in the NVG group, and IOP was reduced to 15±9.5 mm Hg in the non-NVG group and 15±10.5 mm Hg in the NVG at 1y. Number of glaucoma medications (mean±SD) decreased from 2.7±1.3 in the non-NVG group and 2.8±1.3 in the NVG group preoperatively to 0.76±1.18 in the non-NVG group and 0.51±1.00 in the NVG group at 1y. Improvement in VA of ≥2 Snellen lines was observed in 25 (27%) eyes, although only 33% of non-NVG eyes and 2.3% of NVG eyes maintained VA better than 20/200 at 1y. Nonclearing vitreous hemorrhage was the most common postoperative complication occurring in 16 (17%) eyes, and postoperative suprachoroidal hemorrhages developed in 5 (5.4%) ***-BGI is a viable surgical option for eyes with refractory glaucoma, but visual outcomes are frequently poor because of ocular comorbidities, especially in eyes with NVG. The location of tube placement does not influence surgical outcome and should be left to the discretion of the surgeon.

Tea is the world＇s oldest and most popular caffeine-containing beverage with immense economic, medicinal, and cultural importance. Here, we present the first high-quality nucleotide sequence of the repeat-rich （80.9%）, 3.02-Gb genome of the cultivated tea tree Camellia sinensis. We show that an extraordinarily large genome size of tea tree is resulted from the slow, steady, and long-term amplification of a few LTR retrotransposon families. In addition to a recent whole-genome duplication event, lineage-specific expansions of genes associated with flavonoid metabolic biosynthesis were discovered, which enhance catechin production, terpene enzyme activation, and stress tolerance, important features for tea flavor and adaptation. We demonstrate an independent and rapid evolution of the tea caffeine synthesis pathway relative to cacao and coffee. A comparative study among 25 Camellia species revealed that higher expression levels of most flavonoid- and caffeinebut not theanine-related genes contribute to the increased production of catechins and caffeine and thus enhance tea-processing suitability and tea quality. These novel findings pave the way for further metabolomic and functional genomic refinement of characteristic biosynthesis pathways and will help develop a more diversified set of tea flavors that would eventually satisfy and attract more tea drinkers worldwide.

The electronic structure of GaAs/Al xGa 1-x As superlattices has been investigated by an ab initio calculation method—the conjugate gradient (CG) *** order to determine that,a conventional CG scheme is modified for our superlattices:First,apart from the former scheme,for the fixed electron density n(z),the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are calculated,and then by using those,reconstruct the new n(z).Also,for every k z,we apply the CG schemes *** calculated energy difference between two minibands,and Fermi energy are in good agreement with the experimental data.

Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are members of the TGF-β superfamily and have diverse functions during development and organogenesis. BMPs play a major role in skeletal development and bone formation, and disruptions in BMP signaling cause a variety of skeletal and extraskeletal anomalies. Several knockout models have provided insight into the mechanisms responsible for these phenotypes. Proper bone formation requires the differentiation of osteoblasts from mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) precursors, a process mediated in part by BMP signaling. Multiple BMPs, including BMP2, BMP6, BMP7 and BMP9, promote osteoblastic differentiation of MSCs both in vitro and in vivo. BMP9 is one of the most osteogenic BMPs, yet it is a poorly characterized member of the BMP family. Several studies demonstrate that the mechanisms controlling BMP9-mediated osteogenesis differ from other osteogenic BMPs, but little is known about these specific mechanisms. Several pathways critical to BMP9-mediated osteogenesis are also important in the differentiation of other cell lineages, including adipocytes and chondrocytes. BMP9 has also demonstrated translational promise in spinal fusion and bone fracture repair. This review will summarize our current knowledge of BMP-mediated osteogenesis, with a focus on BMP9, by presenting recently completed work which may help us to further elucidate these pathways.

To achieve a better understanding of the effects of the colossal magnetoresistivity in the mixed valence manganites,the model of a negative magnetoresistivity scaling proposed by Wagner et al is explored in both mathematical and physical *** inconsistency in Wagners model is discussed and corrected. The behaviors of the large spin polarons in Nd 0.52 Sr 0.48 MnO 3 film at T c are studied and *** results show that only through necessary corrections can Wagners model become self consistent. A further exploration of the nature of the magnetically aligned clusters will make the model more convincing.

采用二氧化碳自动分析仪和气象资料一套监测了淮安市区大气中的CO2,通过分析采集的数据探索CO2浓度和各种气象条件、季节之间的变化规律。结果表明,淮安市大气CO2浓度一年四季都存在明显的日变化,每天CO2浓度最低值均出现在北京时间15:00时前后;大气CO2浓度随季节变化明显,夏季出现最低值,浓度范围为369.0～395.0μmol/mol,最高值多出现在冬季,浓度范围为420～455μmol/mol。其原因与光合作用的强弱、人为因素、风向等有关。

难复性股骨转子间骨折的新分型与复位策略研究

目的探讨难复性股骨转子间骨折的新分型,以及在新分型指导下的复位策略及临床疗效。方法回顾性分析2019年1月至2021年12月期间郑州市骨科医院收治的124例难复性股骨转子间骨折患者资料。男56例,女68例;年龄(76.8±13.2)岁。根据骨折近端头颈骨块的移位方式,将难复性股骨转子间骨折分为3型:1型(旋转型)65例,根据小转子位置再分为3个亚型:1.1型(小转子连在骨折远端型)24例,1.2型(小转子连在骨折近端型)8例,1.3型(小转子游离型)33例;2型(绞锁型)18例,也分为3个亚型:2.1型(小转子游离型)13例,2.2型(小转子连在骨折近端型)0例,2.3型(小转子连在骨折远端型)5例;3型(反转子型)41例。在新的分型指导下,对患者采用相应技巧(应用撬拨、钳夹、提拉及克氏针临时固定等技术)复位后行髓内钉固定。记录患者的手术时间、术中出血量、骨折复位质量及末次随访时髋关节Harris评分等。结果本组患者的手术时间为(53.0±20.7)min,术中出血量为(132.1±81.3)mL。根据Chang等、kim等标准评定术后骨折复位质量:优101例,良17例,可4例,差2例,优良率为95.2%(118/124)。124例患者术后获(12.4±3.7)个月随访。120例患者骨折一期愈合,2例3型患者主钉断裂后更换髓内钉后愈合,此122例患者的骨折愈合时间为(5.1±1.4)个月;另有2例1.3型患者头钉切割股骨头行半髋关节置换术。5例患者术后出现泌尿系统感染,经对症治疗后痊愈。末次随访时髋关节Harris评分为(94.2±5.4)分;优103例,良17例,差4例,优良率为96.8%(120/124)。结论基于骨折近端头颈骨块移位方式划分的难复性股骨转子间骨折新分型,能直接、有效地指导术中复位,并可获得满意的复位与固定效果,且易于理解和掌握。
