Growth of carbon nanotube arrays on various CtxMey alloy films by chemical vapour deposition method

Carbon nanotube （CNT） arrays were fabricated on Ct-Me-N-（O） alloys with content of Ct in the range of 6-40 at.% by chemical vapour deposition. The Ct was a catalytic metal from the group of the following elements： Ni, Co, Fe, pd, while Me was a transition metal from the group of IV-VII of the periodic table （where Me=Ti, V, Cr, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ta, W, Re）. Carbon nanotubes were found to grow efficiently on the alloy surface with its composition containing Ti, V, Cr, Zr, Hf, Nb or Ta. The growth of CNTs was not observed when the alloy contained W or Re. Additions of oxygen and nitrogen in the alloy facilitated the formation of oxynitrides and catalyst extrusion on the alloy surface. Replacement of the metals in alloy composition affected the diameter of the resulting CNTs. The obtained results showed that the alloy films of varying thickness （10-500 nm） may be used for the CNTs growth. The resulting CNT material was highly homogenous and its synthesis reproducible.

The retina plays a fundamental role in the process of vision,serving as the primary interface between external visual stimuli and the central nervous *** the retina is exposed to a variety of environmental stresses and deleterious insults,it is susceptible to a spectrum of pathological conditions that can detrimentally affect *** often leads to irreversible vision loss due to the injury of specific cell *** instance,inherited retinal degeneration and age-related macular degeneration can lead to the death of photoreceptors,while conditions like glaucoma and optic nerve injury can result in the loss of ganglion *** precise pathological mechanisms driving retinal degeneration remain largely elusive,although research utilizing mouse models suggests that disruptions in intracellular signal transduction pathways may play a pivotal *** pathways within the retina orchestrate various aspects of retinal physiology,including phototransduction,synaptic transmission,and neuronal survival.

Numerical Analysis of Microholes Film/Effusion Cooling Effectiveness

Numerical simulations were performed to predict the film cooling effectiveness on the fiat plate with a three-dimensional discrete hole film cooling RSM-AKN turbulent heat transfer models based on variable turbulent prandtl number approaches were considered. Obtained numerical results were directly compared with the data that came from an experiment based on Transient Liquid Crystal methodology. All implemented models for turbulent heat transfer performed sufficiently well for the considered case. It was confirmed, however, that the two-equation closure can give a detailed look into film cooling problems without using any time-consuming and inherently unsteady models. The RSM-AKN turbulent model was used in micoholes case too. The main target of simulations was maintain the same level of cooling efficiency ratio in both cases and confirm that is possible significantly reduce mass flows of the coolant in microholes case.

Numerical prediction of Film Cooling Effectiveness over Flat plate using Variable Turbulent prandtl Number Closures

Numerical simulations were performed to predict the film cooling effectiveness on the fiat plate with a three- dimensienal discrete-hole film cooling arrangement. The effects of basic geometrical characteristics of the holes, i.e diameter D, length L and pitch S/D were studied. Different turbulent heat transfer models based on constant and variable turbulent prandtl number approaches were considered. The variability of the turbulent prandtl number prt in the energy equation was assumed using an algebraic relation proposed by Kays and Crawford, or employing the Abe, Kondoh and Nagano eddy heat diffusivity closure with two differential transport equations for the temperature variance ko and its destruction rate εθ The obtained numerical results were directly compared with the data that came from an experiment based on Transient Liquid Crystal methodology. All implemented models for turbulent heat transfer performed sufficiently well for the considered case. It was confirmed, however, that the two- equation closure can give a detailed look into film cooling problems without using any time-consuming and inherently unsteady models.

Recreational potential as an indicator of accessibility control in protected mountain forest areas

The article presents research findings related to recreational use of forests located in protected mountainous areas with forestage of over 80%. The study was designed to identify recreational potential of the Carpathian national parks （Bieszczady National park, Bahia G6ra National park, Goree National park and Magura National park; southern poland） and to compare these findings with the actual number of visitors. The information received on the recreational potential of parks is important from the point of view of protection of natural resources and the financial situation of the parks. The calculated ratio may be an effective tool of management for park administration, that allows to reconcile statutory social and protective functions of national parks. The study determined the recreational potential of the forests with the use of recreational valorisation method designed for areas with varied terrain, and the evaluated factors included the stands of trees with their habitat and land relief. The permissible number of national park visitors, expressed as man- hour/ha/year ranges from 19.31 in Bieszczady National park （BG： 19~ 35＇ E, 49~ 35＇ N） to 32.06 in in Bieszczady National park （B： 22~ 40＇ E, 49~ lo＇ N）. In 3 out of 4 investigated parks, Magura National park （M： 21025＇ E, 49~ 30＇ N）, Gorce National park （G： 20~ lo＇ E, 49~ 35＇ N）, B） recreation carrying capacity was not exceeded, whether or not the strictly protected area is taken into account. Only in BG was the recreation carrying capacity exceeded by nearly 24%, or by 85% if the strictly protected area isexcluded from tourism-related exploitation. The presented procedure for monitoring access to mountain forests in national parks, from the viewpoint of natural resources conservation, can be applied in other mountainous areas covered with forests and exposed to tourist and recreational traffic, and in forests facing particular risk of recreational damage, e.g. in urban and suburban forests growing in areas wi

n-transitivity of Bisection Groups of a Lie Groupoid

The notion of n-transitivity can be carried over from groups of diffeomorphisms on a manifold M to groups of bisections of a Lie groupoid over M. The main theorem states that the n-transitivity is fulfilled for all n ∈N by an arbitrary group of Cr-bisections of a Lie groupoid F of class Cr, where 1 ≤ r ≤ ω, under mild conditions. For instance, the group of all bisections of any Lie groupoid and the group of all Lagrangian bisections of any symplectic groupoid are n-transitive in the sense of this theorem. In particular, if F is source connected for any arrow γ∈ Г, there is a bisection passing through γ.

Analysis of erosion rill development under rainfall events using structure-from-motion photogrammetry——a case study from Kielce(Holy Cross Mts.,poland)

The development of erosive landforms such as rills,ditches,slits,and gullies depends on many environmental factors;thus,the rate of the development of each individual form *** this paper,the author presents a case study of two erosion rills located on a hiking trails(Holy Cross Mts.)resulting after 2 years of monitoring in which the process of their evolution was precisely *** established,such landforms develop over time with variable rates and can represent multiple different ***,the final result of the rill development hardly reminds their original form and does not allow for interpretation of the events that affected it in the recent ***,the main objective was to determine the volumetric changes of erosion rills created by the surface runoff on both sections,during two years of *** objectives included a description of the physical and meteorological parameters,important in the development process and a comparison of them to the volumetric changes of each *** the Structure-from-motion(Sf M)photogrammetry technique,monitoring procedures have been performed quickly offering sufficient *** direct comparison,the digital elevation model of difference(Do D)method was used,enabling the calculation of *** results showed that the erosion to deposition ratio was more disproportionate during storm events or periods with higher depth of *** erosion to deposition balance for the entire monitoring period was negative and equal to 1448.84 kg or 410 Mg/ha for the first erosion rill and 1059.5 kg or 300 Mg/ha for the second *** erosion rills developed *** first erosion rill developed by linear cut into deeper and wider form,while the other,steeper rill,evolved from plunge pools merging together into deeper and wider form.

Graph representation of n-dimensional space

This paper investigates how graph representation can be created for the mesh which is a discrete approximation of n-dimensional continuous space. The paper discusses the relationship between mesh dimensionality and the type and quantity of edges connecting each vertex with its neighbors. Basing on the analysis, a simple algorithm is also proposed to create such graph representation. The purpose of the graph is to search optimal paths and trajectories in the represented space.

De-industrialisation triggered economic,spatial and environmental changes in ***,this study identifies whether there has been a reorientation of spatial development in post-industrial cities towards the creation of green *** aim of the study is to analyse and evaluate the transformation of green spaces in 32 major cities in poland,including 12 post-industrial *** sources were vector land cover data models from the Urban Atlas for 2006 and 2018,administrative boundaries from the National Boundary Register and building layers from the Topographic Objects *** research procedure was carried out using the GIS environment,through spatial analysis,geoprocessing algorithms,and spatial *** results have shown that post-industrial cities do not develop their urban resi-lience based on the expansion of green spaces and,consequently,do not build green urban *** addition,the research has proven that the greatest loss of green spaces is noticeable in parts of post-industrial cities with medium and high development intensity,where there is an intensification of con-struction *** dominant direction of the transformation of green spaces has been the conversion of agricultural areas into green spaces(87.79%).In contrast,the main direction of loss in green space has been the creation of new industrial units(24.80%)and the expansion of the urban fabric(23.53%).The article is original due to the fact that there is a gap in the literature regarding the study of green spaces in post-industrial cities with regard to the concept of green urban resilience.
