The world is experiencing aging of its population. Age-specific incidence rates of cancer are higher and cancer is now recognized as a part of aging. Treating older patients can be challenging. The clinical behavior of some tumors changes with age and the aging process itself brings physiological changes leading to decline in the function of organs. It is essential to identify those patients with longer life expectancy, potentially more likely to benefit from aggressive treatment vs. those that are more vulnerable to adverse outcomes. A primary determination when considering therapy for an older cancer patient is a patient's physiologic, rather than chronologic age. In order to differentiate amongst patients of the same age, it is useful to determine if a patient is fit or frail. Frail older adults have multiple chronic conditions and difficulties maintaining independence. They may be more vulnerable to therapy toxicities, and may not have substantial lasting benefits from therapy. Geriatric assessment(GA) may be used as a tool to determine reversible deficits and devise treatment strategies to mitigate such deficits. GA is also used in treatment decision making by clinicians, helping to risk stratify patients prior to potentially high-risk therapy. An important practical aspect of GA is the feasibility of incorporating it into a busy oncology practice. Key considerations in performing the GA include: available resources, patient population, GA tools to use, and who will be responsible for using the GA results and develop care plans. Challenges in implementing GA in clinical practice will be discussed.

Numerical simulations were performed to predict the film cooling effectiveness on the fiat plate with a three- dimensienal discrete-hole film cooling arrangement. The effects of basic geometrical characteristics of the holes, i.e diameter D, length L and pitch S/D were studied. Different turbulent heat transfer models based on constant and variable turbulent Prandtl number approaches were considered. The variability of the turbulent Prandtl number Prt in the energy equation was assumed using an algebraic relation proposed by Kays and Crawford, or employing the Abe, Kondoh and Nagano eddy heat diffusivity closure with two differential transport equations for the temperature variance ko and its destruction rate εθ The obtained numerical results were directly compared with the data that came from an experiment based on Transient Liquid Crystal methodology. All implemented models for turbulent heat transfer performed sufficiently well for the considered case. It was confirmed, however, that the two- equation closure can give a detailed look into film cooling problems without using any time-consuming and inherently unsteady models.

Obtained numerical results were directly compared with the data that came from an experiment based on Transient Liquid Crystal methodology. All implemented models for turbulent heat transfer performed sufficiently well for the considered case. It was confirmed, however, that the two-equation closure can give a detailed look into film cooling problems without using any time-consuming and inherently unsteady models. The RSM-AKN turbulent model was used in micoholes case too. The main target of simulations was maintain the same level of cooling efficiency ratio in both cases and confirm that is possible significantly reduce mass flows of the coolant in microholes case.

Recreational potential as an indicator of accessibility control in protected mountain forest areas

The article presents research findings related to recreational use of forests located in protected mountainous areas with forestage of over 80%. The study was designed to identify recreational potential of the Carpathian national parks （Bieszczady National Park, Bahia G6ra National Park, Goree National Park and Magura National Park; southern Poland） and to compare these findings with the actual number of visitors. The information received on the recreational potential of parks is important from the point of view of protection of natural resources and the financial situation of the parks. The calculated ratio may be an effective tool of management for park administration, that allows to reconcile statutory social and protective functions of national parks. The study determined the recreational potential of the forests with the use of recreational valorisation method designed for areas with varied terrain, and the evaluated factors included the stands of trees with their habitat and land relief. The permissible number of national park visitors, expressed as man- hour/ha/year ranges from 19.31 in Bieszczady National Park （BG： 19~ 35＇ E, 49~ 35＇ N） to 32.06 in in Bieszczady National Park （B： 22~ 40＇ E, 49~ lo＇ N）. In 3 out of 4 investigated parks, Magura National Park （M： 21025＇ E, 49~ 30＇ N）, Gorce National Park （G： 20~ lo＇ E, 49~ 35＇ N）, B） recreation carrying capacity was not exceeded, whether or not the strictly protected area is taken into account. Only in BG was the recreation carrying capacity exceeded by nearly 24%, or by 85% if the strictly protected area isexcluded from tourism-related exploitation. The presented procedure for monitoring access to mountain forests in national parks, from the viewpoint of natural resources conservation, can be applied in other mountainous areas covered with forests and exposed to tourist and recreational traffic, and in forests facing particular risk of recreational damage, e.g. in urban and suburban forests growing in areas wi

The notion of n-transitivity can be carried over from groups of diffeomorphisms on a manifold M to groups of bisections of a Lie groupoid over M. The main theorem states that the n-transitivity is fulfilled for all n ∈N by an arbitrary group of Cr-bisections of a Lie groupoid F of class Cr, where 1 ≤ r ≤ ω, under mild conditions. For instance, the group of all bisections of any Lie groupoid and the group of all Lagrangian bisections of any symplectic groupoid are n-transitive in the sense of this theorem. In particular, if F is source connected for any arrow γ∈ Г, there is a bisection passing through γ.

The development of erosive landforms such as rills,ditches,slits,and gullies depends on many environmental factors;thus,the rate of the development of each individual form *** this paper,the author presents a case study of two erosion rills located on a hiking trails(Holy Cross Mts.)resulting after 2 years of monitoring in which the process of their evolution was precisely *** established,such landforms develop over time with variable rates and can represent multiple different ***,the final result of the rill development hardly reminds their original form and does not allow for interpretation of the events that affected it in the recent ***,the main objective was to determine the volumetric changes of erosion rills created by the surface runoff on both sections,during two years of *** objectives included a description of the physical and meteorological parameters,important in the development process and a comparison of them to the volumetric changes of each *** the Structure-from-motion(Sf M)photogrammetry technique,monitoring procedures have been performed quickly offering sufficient *** direct comparison,the digital elevation model of difference(Do D)method was used,enabling the calculation of *** results showed that the erosion to deposition ratio was more disproportionate during storm events or periods with higher depth of *** erosion to deposition balance for the entire monitoring period was negative and equal to 1448.84 kg or 410 Mg/ha for the first erosion rill and 1059.5 kg or 300 Mg/ha for the second *** erosion rills developed *** first erosion rill developed by linear cut into deeper and wider form,while the other,steeper rill,evolved from plunge pools merging together into deeper and wider form.

This paper investigates how graph representation can be created for the mesh which is a discrete approximation of n-dimensional continuous space. The paper discusses the relationship between mesh dimensionality and the type and quantity of edges connecting each vertex with its neighbors. Basing on the analysis, a simple algorithm is also proposed to create such graph representation. The purpose of the graph is to search optimal paths and trajectories in the represented space.

De-industrialisation triggered economic,spatial and environmental changes in ***,this study identifies whether there has been a reorientation of spatial development in post-industrial cities towards the creation of green *** aim of the study is to analyse and evaluate the transformation of green spaces in 32 major cities in Poland,including 12 post-industrial *** sources were vector land cover data models from the Urban Atlas for 2006 and 2018,administrative boundaries from the National Boundary Register and building layers from the Topographic Objects *** research procedure was carried out using the GIS environment,through spatial analysis,geoprocessing algorithms,and spatial *** results have shown that post-industrial cities do not develop their urban resi-lience based on the expansion of green spaces and,consequently,do not build green urban *** addition,the research has proven that the greatest loss of green spaces is noticeable in parts of post-industrial cities with medium and high development intensity,where there is an intensification of con-struction *** dominant direction of the transformation of green spaces has been the conversion of agricultural areas into green spaces(87.79%).In contrast,the main direction of loss in green space has been the creation of new industrial units(24.80%)and the expansion of the urban fabric(23.53%).The article is original due to the fact that there is a gap in the literature regarding the study of green spaces in post-industrial cities with regard to the concept of green urban resilience.
