The complexation of high-spin lanthanides to porphyrinoids is a powerful strategy for the development of advanced molecular *** this context,the use of expanded porphyrinoids remains elusive since their coordination chemistry is challenging to ***,taking inspiration from on-surface chemistry,we explored the coordination of Dy^(3+)to a six-membered porphyrinoid,namely,the hemihexaphyrazine ***,we observed the selective formation of a mono-nuclear off-centered,out-of-plane H_(2)Hhp-Dy^(3+)complex when performing the complexation under reductive *** this reaction,the oxidation state of the macrocycle did not *** X-ray diffraction analysis,we found that the coordination number of Dy in this complex was *** macrocycle cocrystallized with decamethylcobaltocene(Cp_(2)^(*)Co)molecules,giving rise to a wellordered solid-state packing,governed byπ-π*** a result of this organization,a small magnetic coupling between the neighboring molecules was *** in all,this work provides key insights into the coordination of magnetically active metals with expanded porphyrinoids,thus motivating the development of advanced spintronic devices.

Primary Sjogren's syndrome(psS)is one of the most widespread autoimmune diseases with unknown origin,characterized by a lymphocytic infiltrate of the exocrine glands and the production of anti-SSA/Ro and anti-SSB/La antibodies that cause dysfunction and destruction mainly of salivary and lachrymal glands,leading to dry eyes and dry *** the absence of a standardized evidence-based screening tool to decide which patients with dry eye must be referred for study of this pathology.

Technical Proposal for the Recovery of Iron Tailings in Dams in the Context of a Circular Economy

The objective of this study is to present a tailings recovery project in a dam located in northern Brazil;the tailings in this dam have high concentrations of iron. The sustainable recovery of mineral resources can be achieved using the dredging method. The methodology used was based on two drilling projects conducted in 2001 and 2010;these projects contained samples with information on the chemical composition and particle size fractions. The dredging system was designed to operate with four cutter suction dredgers. For operation, factors such as productivity, pumping distance and material flow were considered. The material contained in the dam was estimated using the natural neighborhood interpolation method;this resulted in approximately 192 million tons of tailings, with an average iron content of 63.37%. Based on these data, a 13-year mining plan was prepared, with the potential to maximize the use of the tailings and reduce the environmental impacts, thus contributing to a circular economy.

One of the main objectives of artificial intelligence lies in the simulation of the behavior of living organisms;emotions are a fundamental part of life, and they cannot be left aside when simulating behavior. In this research, software is developed that simulates the behavior of birds with different characteristics. The latter interacts by considering different stimuli from the environment (external), and the internal state of the subject (objectives). To achieve this, a model of birds in the role of prey and predators is developed that focuses on the study of the interaction between these organisms that exhibit specific behaviors in their environment. This project is a seminal work that aims to represent the emotions of birds, and the latter caused by stimuli from a dynamic environment.

Effect of magnesium on the aluminothermic reduction rate of zinc oxide obtained from spent alkaline battery anodes for the preparation of Al–Zn–Mg alloys

The aluminothermic reduction of zinc oxide（ZnO） from alkaline battery anodes using molten Al may be a good option for the elaboration of secondary 7000-series alloys. This process is affected by the initial content of Mg within molten Al, which decreases the surface tension of the molten metal and conversely increases the wettability of ZnO particles. The effect of initial Mg concentration on the aluminothermic reduction rate of ZnO was analyzed at the following values： 0.90wt%, 1.20wt%, 4.00t%, 4.25wt%, and 4.40wt%. The ZnO particles were incorporated by mechanical agitation using a graphite paddle inside a bath of molten Al maintained at a constant temperature of 1123 K and at a constant agitation speed of 250 r/min, the treatment time was 240 min and the ZnO particle size was 450？500 mesh. The results show an increase in Zn concentration in the prepared alloys up to 5.43wt% for the highest initial concentration of Mg. The reaction products obtained were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, and the efficiency of the reaction was measured on the basis of the different concentrations of Mg studied.

Challenges in managing hepatitis C virus infection in cancer patients

Structural performance assessment of GFRP elastic gridshells by machine learning interpretability methods

The prediction of structural performance plays a significant role in damage assessment of glass fiber reinforcement polymer(GFRP)elastic gridshell *** learning(ML)approaches are implemented in this study,to predict maximum stress and displacement of GFRP elastic gridshell *** ML algorithms,including linear regression(LR),ridge regression(RR),support vector regression(SVR),K-nearest neighbors(KNN),decision tree(DT),random forest(RF),adaptive boosting(AdaBoost),extreme gradient boosting(XGBoost),category boosting(CatBoost),and light gradient boosting machine(LightGBM),are implemented in this *** features of structural performance considered in this study are the maximum stress as f1(x)and the maximum displacement to self-weight ratio as f2(x).A comparative study is conducted and the Catboost model presents the highest prediction ***,interpretable ML approaches,including shapely additive explanations(SHAP),partial dependence plot(PDP),and accumulated local effects(ALE),are applied to explain the *** is employed to describe the importance of each variable to structural performance both locally and *** results of sensitivity analysis(SA),feature importance of the CatBoost model and SHAP approach indicate the same parameters as the most significant variables for f1(x)and f2(x).

In this note, we study a discrete time approximation for the solution of a class of delayed stochastic differential equations driven by a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H ∈(1/2,1). In order to prove convergence, we use rough paths techniques. Theoretical bounds are established and numerical simulations are displayed.

Use of two-surfactants mixtures to attain specific HLB values for assisted TPH-diesel biodegradation

In a surfactant assisted biodegradation process, the choice of surfactant(s) is of crucial importance. The question is: does the type of surfactant(i.e. chemical family) affect the biodegradation process at fixed hidrophillic-lypofillic balance(HLB) values? Microcosm assessments were developed using contaminated soil, with around of 5000 mg/kg of hydrocarbons as TPH-diesel. Mixtures of three nonionic surfactants were employed to get a wide range of specific HLB values. Tween20 and Span20 were mixed in the appropriate proportions to get HLB values between 8.6 and 16.7. Tween/Span60 mixtures reached HLB values between 4.7 and 14.9. Finally, Tween/Span80 combinations yielded HLB values between 4.3 and 15. TPH-diesel biodegradation was measured at the beginning, and after 8 weeks, as well as the FCU/gr soil, as a measure of microorganisms′ development during the biodegradation period. A second aim of this work was to assess the use of guar gum as a biodegradation enhancer instead of synthetic products. The conclusions of this work are that surfactant chemical family, and not only the HLB value clearly affects the assisted biodegradation rate. Surfactant's synergism was clearly observed. Regarding the use of guar gum, no biodegradation enhancement was observed for the three assessed concentrations, i.e., 2, 20, and 200 mg/kg, respectively. On the contrary, TPH-diesel removal was lower as the gum concentration increased. It is quite possible that guar gum was used as a microbial substrate.
