Extracting body surface dimensions from top-view images of pigs

Continuous live weight and carcass traits estimation are important for the pig production and breeding *** is widely known that top-view images of a pig’s body(excluding its head and neck)reveal surface dimension parameters,which are correlated with live weight and carcass ***,because a pig is not constrained when an image is captured,the body does not always have a straight *** creates a big challenge when extracting the body surface dimension parameters,and consequently the live weight and carcass traits estimation has a high level of *** primary goal of this study is to propose an algorithm to automatically extract pig body surface dimension parameters,with a better accuracy,from top-view pig ***,the backbone line of a pig was ***,lengths of line segments perpendicular to the backbone line were calculated,and then feature points on the pig’s contour line were extracted based on the lengths variation of the perpendicular line ***,the head and neck of the pig were removed from the pig’s contour by an ***,four length and one area parameters were *** proposed algorithm was implemented in Matlab®(R2012b)and applied to 126 depth images of *** the results of the manual labeling tool as the gold standard,the length and area parameters could be obtained by the proposed algorithm with an accuracy of 97.71%(SE=1.64%)and 97.06%(SE=1.82%),*** parameters can be used to improve pig live weight and carcass traits estimation accuracy in the future work.

General Aspects of Financial Law

The aim of this article is to outline the general parts of the legal branch called financial law. It is intended as the first part of a series of articles outlineing the topic in detail. The aim of the submitted contribution is to demonstrate that the financial and legal aspects created the basis of economic development of the regions from the early beginnings of human society. Social relations constituting the subject-matter of the financial law had been developing, changing, and had become established before the financial law itself has been constituted. These relations seem to have been present from the very beginning of the existence of the human society. Regulatory acts associated with regulation of these relationships embodied solidarity and methodological specificities. The specificity of the subject-matter of regulation, solidarity and methodological specificities of the financial, and legal standards sufficiently define superstructure with a natural law character. The superstructure is based on constitutional system of national states after the EU integration has been completed on the EU law. As we can evaluate retrospectively, the transfer of fmanciallaw competencies in Brussels was a failiure. Since the political union was established through the Lisbon treaty in 2009 the European sovereign debt crisis emerged and ravaged the EU until today.

Acute appendicitis in a patient after a uterus transplant: A case report

BACKGROUND Acute appendicitis in a solid organ transplant recipient is a rare occurrence, and experience remains limited. Appendicitis in uterine transplant recipients has never been reported. Immunocompromised patients with acute abdomen often present late and with attenuated symptoms. The differential diagnosis in a transplanted patient is broad and challenging due to possible existing complications associated with the graft, effects of immunosuppression, and altered anatomical *** SUMMARY A 26-year-old woman suffering from absolute uterine factor infertility received a uterus transplant. In the post-transplant period, she suffered from leukopenia and recurrent acute cellular rejection. Her compliance was suboptimal. She travelled to an exotic destination despite the physician's recommendation not to do so. Following her vacation, she presented with abdominal discomfort, nausea and diarrhoea. There was no sign of acute abdomen;the abdominal ultrasound was negative on day 0. Clostridium difficile colitis was verified and treated with perorally administered vancomycin. On day 4, the discomfort changed to pain;the ultrasound scan revealed a finding suggestive of appendicitis. Surgical exploration revealed perforated appendicitis, and appendectomy was *** a surgical point of view, the patient's follow-up was uneventful. The patient underwent a successful embryo transfer 6 months after the appendectomy. Transport Risk Assessment for the Environment

Transport risk assessment for the environment has two important aspects--problem solving model and solution veracity. Problem solving model is larger understanding of tasks interconnection, which represents in itself partial solution of general risk assessment. Veracity of solution means how the results are consistent with the reality. By researching of both aspects, it rises many unanswered questions. It is concerned about verification and validation of risk assessment results. By risk assessment for the environment it is possible to meet wide variety of more or less good soluble problems. It exists simple problems based on risk assessment of common traffic accidents connected with service charge outflow. On the other site, it exists complex problems of risk assessment connected with dangerous goods transport by traffic or pipelines. By simple problems solving there are not many questions about risk assessment veracity. It is possible to determine traffic accidents frequencies and service charge outflows consequences on the basis of examined events in transportation with great veracity. By complex problems the situation is quite different. The frequencies of large accidents are very low but the consequences for the environment may be large. Both are encumbered by large level of uncertainty. That is why the question is rising. To what degree, it is in these cases correct to make decision based on risk assessment.

Viewpoints of the target population regarding barriers and facilitators of colorectal cancer screening in the Czech Republic

BACKGROUND Public awareness of colorectal cancer(CRC) and uptake of CRC screening remain challenges. The viewpoints of the target population(asymptomatic individuals older than 50) regarding CRC screening information sources and the reasons for and against participation in CRC screening are not well known in the Czech Republic. This study aimed to acquire independent opinions from the target population independently on the health *** To investigate the viewpoints of the target population regarding the source of information for and barriers and facilitators of CRC *** A survey among relatives(aged 50 and older) of university students was conducted. Participants answered a questionnaire about sources of awareness regarding CRC screening, reasons for and against participation, and suggestions for improvements in CRC screening. The effect of certain variables on participation in CRC screening was *** Of 498 participants, 478(96%) respondents had some information about CRC screening and 375(75.3%) had participated in a CRC screening test. General practitioners(GPs)(n = 319, 64.1%) and traditional media(n = 166, 33.3%) were the most common information sources regarding CRC screening. A lack of interest or time and a fear of colonoscopy or positive results were reported as reasons for non-participation. Individuals aged > 60 years [adjusted odds ratio(aOR) = 2.30, 95% confidence interval(CI)(1.42-3.71), P = 0.001], females(aOR =1.95, 95%CI(1.26-3.01) P = 0.003), and relatives of CRC patients(aOR = 4.17,95%CI(1.82-9.58) P = 0.001) were more likely to participate in *** regarding screening provided by physicians-GPs:(aOR = 8.11,95%CI(4.90-13.41), P < 0.001) and other specialists(aOR = 4.19, 95%CI(1.87-9.38),P = 0.001) increased participation in screening. A Ship of Fools Failing Harmonization and the Disregard of Principles of Finance

The development of the EU according to the strategy Europe 2020 has encountered significant difficulties. It was caused in great part by the underestimation and in some cases total ignorance towards the principles of financial science. The paper discusses the absence of financial-law based point of view regarding the future development scenarios until 2020. Then the five goals set out by the strategy are examined. The critical state of finance in the EU shows the fruitlessness of all the harmonization efforts lately. The authors of fake statistics and fake misleading prognoses have not been brought to justice. The causes of the crisis have been wrongly identified. We are losing our wealth, which generations had labored to accumulate. We are actively giving up our civil rights and the security of our citizens to create a more pleasant environment for Saudi Arabia. During this effort we have contributed to the destruction of millions of lives in the Middle East. We are the only ones in the world still lending our trust to rating agencies that deliberately derailed the global economy in the pursuit of extra profit.
