AIm: To describe the dietary recommendations of experienced endoscopists for patients who have undergone endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCp) and the factors that influence these recommendations. mEThOdS: Selected U.S. endoscopists with ERCp experience were surveyed by e-mail. A questionnaire with three hypothetical ERCp cases of patients at low, m.d.um and high risk for development of post-ERCp pancreatitis (pEp) was shown. For each scenario, respondents were asked to recommend a post-procedure diet and time to first oral intake. Respondents were also asked about the effect of various clinical factors on their recommendations, including risk of ***: 97/187 selected ASGE members (51.9%) responded. When risk of pEp was either low, m.d.um or high, 53%, 88% and 96% recommended a diet of clear liquids/NpO respectively, and 2%, 5% and 18% recommended delaying first oral intake until the following day. About 88% of respondents gave the same type of diet to patients at high as those with m.d.rate-risk of pEp (p = 0.04). however, 37% and 43% of respondents gave different types of diet to patients at low vs m.d.rate-risk and low-risk vs high-risk of pEp respectively (p d regarding the effect of other clinical factors or respondent ***: most experienced endoscopists limit diet to NpO/clear liquids after ERCp for patients at high or m.d.rate risk of post-ERCp pancreatitis. About half allow a low-fat or regular diet in patients at low risk.

potato is the thirdmost important food crop in *** pathogens threaten sustainable crop production but can be controlled,in many cases,through the deployment of disease resistance genes belonging to the family of nucleotide-binding,leucine-rich-repeat(NLR)*** identify effective disease resistance genes in established varieties,we have successfully established SmRT-AgRenSeq in tetraploid potatoes and have further enhanced the methodology by including dRenSeq in an approach that we term *** inclusion of dRenSeq enables the filtering of candidates after the association analysis by establishing a presence/absence matrix across resistant and susceptible varieties that is translated into an F1 *** a SmRT-RenSeq-based sequence representation of the NLRome from the cultivar Innovator,SmRT-AgRenSeq-d analyses reliably identified the late blight resistance benchmark genes Rpi-R1,Rpi-R2-like,Rpi-R3a,and Rpi-R3b in a panel of 117 varieties with variable phenotype *** benchmark genes were identified with an F1 score of 1,which indicates absolute linkage in the *** method also identified nine strong candidates for Gpa5 that controls the potato cyst nematode(pCN)species Globodera pallida(pathotypes pa2/3).Assuming that NLRs are involved in controlling many types of resistances,SmRT-AgRenSeq-d can readily be applied to diverse crops and pathogen systems.

Background: Currently, there is no set standard treatment for long-segment tracheomalacia and stenosis. In this study we set out to explore the potential to create a tissue engineered, biodegradable and three-dimensionally (3d) printed tracheal ring as a first step towards bioengineering a long segment tracheal replacement. method of Approach: A 3d-Computer aided design (CAd) m.d.l was produced with multiple channels to allow for cellular growth while mimicking the native anatomy. The design was optimized to allow for printability, cellular expansion, and integration and 3d printed using a m.d.fied commercial 3d printer. Results: The cells grown in the scaffold demonstrated a similar proliferation trend compared to control. Chondrocytes within the 3d printed ring retained their phenotypic properties and did not infer any significant change in flexibility, contour and strength to the scaffold. Conclusion: The combination of living cells and a 3d m.d.led patient specific graft may address some of the unmet clinical needs in the field of tracheal reconstruction. This proof of concept study represents a first step towards producing a 3d printed and tissue engineered long segment tracheal replacement graft for airway surgery.

hemorrhagic cystitis (hC) affects a significant number of patients undergoing cyclophospham.d. (Cp) chemotherapy despite treatment with 2-mercaptoethane sulfonate (mesna) to inactivate the metabolite acrolein. While the mechanism is unknown, there is clearly acrolein-independent damage to the urothelium. In this study we have explored the induction of apoptosis in the urothelium as a marker of damage and the mechanism underlying the acrolein-independent apoptosis. Two waves of apoptosis (measured as caspase-3/7 activity and poly (Adp-ribosyl) polymerase (pARp) cleavage) were detected following Cp administration, one peaking at 2 h and a second at 48 h. The first wave was not blocked by mesna, indicating it was independent of acrolein. Caspase-1 was also active at 2 h and activation of caspase-3/7 was blocked by a caspase-1 inhibitor, but not an IL-1 receptor antagonist, suggesting the direct activation of caspase-3/7 by caspase-1 without the need for IL-1 as an interm.d.ate. Our results indicate that Cp initiates an early, acrolein-independent wave of apoptosis that results from.d.rect cleavage of caspase-3/7 by caspase-1.

Cerro Uturuncu, southwest Bolivia, is a high-K, calc-alkaline, composite volcano constructed upon extremely thick continental crust approximately 125 km behind the arc-front of the Andean Central Volcanic Zone (CVZ). Eruptive activity occurred between 890 - 271 ka in a single phase of volcanism lasting ~620,000 years. The edifice consists of a central cone and several flank vents where dacitic and andesitic lava flows and domes erupted. Volumes of individual eruptive units range from 0.1 to ~10 km3;the composite volume of Uturuncu is ~89 km3. In this paper, we present new field, petrographic, and geochemical data in an effort to understand the volcanic and magmatic evolution of Uturuncu. Lava flows and domes have a restricted range in whole rock compositions ranging from 61 wt% - 67 wt% SiO2;magmatic inclusions contained within these units have a larger range from 53 wt% - 64 wt% SiO2. Typical phenocryst assemblages are plagioclase > orthopyroxene > biotite >> quartz and Fe-Ti oxides. pb isotope ratios are characteristic of the southern CVZ by containing high 207pb/204pb and 206pb/204pb and m.d.rate to high 208pb/204pb. Sr and Nd isotope ratios indicate that Uturuncu magmas were m.d.fied by high 87Sr/86Sr and low 143Nd/144Nd felsic basement lithology during magma migration and differentiation. In all eruptive units, there is petrographic and geochemical evidence for magma mixing and mingling. In this regard, magma mixing and mingling is considered to be responsible for the small range in lava flow and dome compositions throughout the eruptive history of the center.
