Neutrophils are crucial for immunity and play important roles in inflammatory diseases;however,mouse models selectively deficient in neutrophils are limited,and neutrophil-specific diphtheria toxin(DT)-based depletion system has not yet been *** this study,we generated a novel knock-in mouse model expressing diphtheria toxin receptor(DTR)under control of the endogenous Ly6G *** showed that DTR expression was restricted to Ly6G+neutrophils and complete depletion of neutrophils could be achieved by DT treatment at 24-48 h *** characterized the effects of specific neutrophil depletion in mice at steady-state,with acute inflammation and during tumor *** study presents a valuable new tool to study the roles of neutrophils in the immune system and during tumor progression.

We show that when A is a separable C^(*)-algebra,every countably generated Hilbert A-module is projective(with bounded module maps as morphisms).We also study the approximate extensions of bounded module *** the case where A is aσ-unital simple C^(*)-algebra with strict comparison,and every strictly positive lower semicontinuous affine function on quasitraces can be realized as the rank of an element in the Cuntz semigroup,we show that the Cuntz semigroup is equivalent to unitarily equivalent classes of countably generated Hilbert A-modules if and only if A has stable rank one.

任务复杂度对二语写作产出的影响一直是二语习得研究的热点议题。过去十年间，国内外学者已就相关实证研究开展过一系列元分析，但研究样本多集中在特定语境，且未纳入近年新增文献，无法概括任务复杂度对二语写作产出效应的全貌。本文采用元分析方法，从国内外51篇文献的88个独立样本中提取269个效应量，涉及被试总人数4632人，整合分析任务复杂度对二语写作产出的总体效应，并考察调节变量对总效应的影响。结果显示：1）任务复杂度对句法复杂度和词汇复杂度有积极影响，对准确度和流利度有消极影响,但均属于小效应；2）沿资源指引维度增加任务复杂度对二语写作复杂度和流利度有积极影响，但对准确度有消极影响，而沿资源消耗维度降低任务复杂度能够提升语言产出的复杂度、准确度和流利度,部分支持“竞争假说”和“认知假说”的观点；3)学习者的二语语种及其水平是影响任务复杂度对二语写作产出效应的显著调节变量。

学习者能否将其身份定义并执行为主动意义建构者对于其学术英语写作能力的获得至关重要。产出导向法(Production-oriented Approach,POA)将语言学习导向置换的同时凸显脚手架在学习者意义建构中的关键作用,为国内英语写作教学的实践创新提供了本土适应性极强的理论指导。本文基于中西部某地方院校的非英语类研究生学术英语写作课堂,尝试在POA框架下搭建交互式脚手架并付诸实践。两轮试用之后的半开放式问卷调查显示,这一脚手架可增权赋能,强化学习投入,有效助力高阶学习者意义协商,在提升学术英语写作水平的同时,促进学习者成功实现主动意义建构者身份的形成。该脚手架有望为POA理论中脚手架的完善以及该理论框架下写作教学实践提供些许思路。

Characterization of transport pathways and depositional changes in Mercury(Hg)and their connection to climatic and environmental changes on various time scales are crucial for better understanding the anthropogenic impacts on the global Hg cycle in the Anthropocene *** this study,we examined Hg variations recorded in a stalagmite from central China,covering the period from 25.5 to 10.9 thousand years *** data show a marked increase in Hg concentrations during the late Last Glacial Maximum,which coincided with the period of highest dust deposition on the Chinese Loess *** concentrations were lower during Heinrich events 1 and 2 and the Younger Dryas but higher during the BùllingAllerùd and the early *** suggest that regional dust load,which enhances atmospheric dry deposition of Hg,is the primary factor influencing Hg deposition in central China on glacialinterglacial *** millennial-to-centennial timescales,climate also plays a significant *** and wetter conditions increase vegetation,litterfall,and soil/rock weathering,which in turn boost mineral dissolution and soil erosion in the vadose *** processes collectively result in higher Hg concentrations in the stalagmite.

The mechanism by which the plant hormone auxin regulates gene expression has been shown to involve regulated degradation, through the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, of transcriptional repressor proteins. However, the key first component in this pathway, the receptor that binds auxin and initiates auxin signaling, has remained a mystery. Two recent papers identify the F-box protein TIR1, part of the complex that attaches ubiquitin to its targets, as an auxin receptor. This breakthrough reveals a new mode of signal transduction and lays the groundwork for a more complete understanding of auxin physiology.

Additive manufacturing of porous, open-cellular metal or alloy implants, fabricated by laser or electron beam melting of a powder bed, is briefly reviewed in relation to optimizing biomechanical compatibility by assuring elastic(Young's) modulus matching of proximate bone, along with corresponding pore sizes assuring osseointegration and vasculature development and migration. In addition, associated, requisite compressive and fatigue strengths for such implants are described. Strategies for optimizing osteoblast(bone cell) development and osteoinduction as well as vascularization of tissue in 3 D scaffolds and tissue engineering constructs for bone repair are reviewed in relation to the biology of osteogenesis and neovascularization in bone, and the role of associated growth factors, bone morphogenic proteins, signaling molecules and the like. Prospects for infusing hydrogel/collagen matrices containing these cellular and protein components or surgically extracted intramedullary(bone marrow) concentrate/aspirate containing these biological and cell components into porous implants are discussed, as strategies for creating living implants, which over the long term would act as metal or alloy scaffolds.

It has been more than three decades since stereolithography began to emerge in various forms of additive manufacturing and 3D printing. Today these technologies are proliferating worldwide in various forms of advanced manufacturing. The largest segment of the 3D printing market today involves various polymer component fabrications, particularly complex structures not attainable by other manufacturing *** printer head systems have also been adapted to selectively print various speciated human cells and special molecules in attempts to construct human organs, beginning with skin and various tissue patches. These efforts are discussed along with metal and alloy fabrication of a variety of implant and bone replacement components by creating powder layers, which are selectively melted into complex forms（such as foams and other open-cellular structures） using laser and electron beams directed by CAD software. Efforts to create a ＂living implant＂ by bone ingrowth and eventual vascularization within these implants will be discussed briefly. Novel printer heads for direct metal droplet deposition as in other 3D printing systems are briefly described since these concepts will allow for the eventual fabrication of very large and complex products, including automotive and aerospace structures and components.

For the two-parameter inverse Gaussian distribution denoted by IG（μ,A）, the authors employ a linear Bayes procedure to estimate the parameters μ and A. The superiority of the proposed linear Bayes estimator （LBE） over both the classical UMVUE and the maximum likelihood estimator （MLE） is established in terms of the mean squared error matrix （MSEM） criterion. Compared with the usual Bayes estimator, which is obtained by an MCMC method, the proposed LBE is simple and easy to use. Some numerical results are presented to verify that the LBE performs well.
