In recent years,the Yanchang shale-oil formations of the Ordos Basin are rich in reserves with complex lithology and structure characteristics,low porosity and low permeability,and weak anomalies for oil and water discriminations,have been the key targets of unconventional oil/gas resource exploration and development in the relevant *** joint acoustic-electrical(AE)properties can be used to interpret reservoir lithology,mineralogy,pore structure,and fluid *** conduct tests of thin section analysis,X-ray diff raction,and ultrasonic and electrical experiments at diff erent pressures and saturation degrees,cores from the shale-oil formations in the Q area of the basin are *** variations in AE properties with respect to clay content,porosity,pressure(microfracture),and saturation are *** experimental results indicate that the rock physics behaviors of sandstones with diff erent clay contents vary *** AE properties of clean sandstones are basically dependent on the microfractures(pressure),while for muddy sandstones,the clay content is an important factor affecting the *** target reservoir consists of interbedded sandstone and shale *** AE equivalent medium equations and the Gurevich theory are applied to establish the joint models for the diff erent lithologies and simulate the variations in AE properties with respect to fluid type,pore structure,and mineral *** three-dimensional joint templates of clean and muddy sandstones,as well as shale,are developed based on the elastic and electrical attributes and then calibrated using the experimental and well-log *** reservoir properties are estimated with the templates and validated by the log *** results indicate that the joint templates based on lithology characteristics can eff ectively characterize the properties of interbedded sandstone and shale ***,the combined application of AE data provides more beneficial informatio

A recent study demonstrated that in small-scale prepolarized surface nuclear magnetic resonance(SNMR-PP)measurements with a footprint of a few square meters,customized PP switch-off ramps can serve as an efficient excitation mechanism,eliminating the requirement for a conventional oscillating excitation *** approach enables the detection of short relaxation signals from the unsaturated soil zone and can,therefore,be used to directly provide soil moisture and pore geometry *** ultimately such small-scale SNMR-PP setups are intended for a mobile application,it is necessary to develop strategies that allow for speedy measurement progress and do not require noise cancellation protocols based on reference ***,we developed a new concentric figure-of-eight(cFOE)loop layout that combines the direction independence of a circular loop with the intrinsic noise cancellation properties of a classical *** approach significantly decreases the measurement time because suitable signal-to-noise ratios are reached much faster compared to a classical circular loop and will bring us one step further toward fast and non-invasive soil moisture mapping applications.

Reservoirs are installed as long-term assets to guarantee water and energy security for decades,if not ***,the effect of siltation undermines reservoirs’sustainability because it significantly reduces the reservoirs’original *** present paper attempts to evaluate the global reservoir siltation problem with the optimism bias theorem introduced by Kahneman and Tversky and applied to infrastructural mega-projects by Flyvbjerg and Ansar using artificial neural networks(ANNs)algorithms for large Japanese *** possesses suitable long-term data and a legal directive concerning the sediment capacity siltation duration,which serves as a valid guide to check whether,over the past 100 years,engineers,planners and managers were capable of judging the sediment input *** ANN models were established to emulate Japanese reservoir siltation *** networks demonstrate that reservoirs in Japan suffer from optimism *** contrast to the law,the dead storage volume of an average dam is supposed to reach capacity after 52 *** finding joins the overall observation that mega-projects generally and globally suffer from optimism *** emulations were subsequently screened for a presumed influence of governance actions,namely,indicating plus monitoring and the change in the market competition *** reservoir siltation appears to continue regardless of the level of competition in public procurement,monitoring directives appear to have a considerable impact on improved siltation management,which demonstrates that dedicated governance action can significantly strengthen the sustainable behavior of key infrastructure elements such as reservoirs.

Tinnitus is defined as a perception of sound without any external sound *** tinnitus is a frequent condition that can affect the quality of *** far,no causal cure for tinnitus has been documented,and most pharmacologic and psychosomatic treatment modalities aim to diminish tinnitus’impact on the quality of ***,a novel therapeutic modality,which aims at alternating nerve activity through a targeted delivery of a stimulus,has emerged as a potential option in tinnitus *** review provides a brief overview of the current neuromodulation techniques as tinnitus treatment *** main intention is to provide updated knowledge especially for medical professionals counselling tinnitus patients in this emerging field of ***-invasive methods such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation,transcranial electrical stimulation,neurofeedback,and transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation were included,as well as invasive methods such as implanted vagus nerve stimulation and invasive brain *** of these neuromodulation techniques revealed promising results;nevertheless,further research is needed,especially regarding the pathophysiological principle as to how these neuromodulation techniques work and what neuronal change they *** studies suggest that individually different brain states and networks are involved in the generation and perception of ***,in the future,individually tailored neuromodulation strategies could be a promising approach in tinnitus treatment for achieving a more substantial and longer lasting improvement of complaints.

Polycrystalline La1-xKxCoO3 （0≤ x ≤ 0.2） rare earth cobaltates have been synthesized by a solution combustion method using glycine as a fuel. The synthesized ceramic materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）, and magnetic measurements and studied for physical properties, such as photoeatalytic activity. FTIR measurements in conjunction with XRD showed that phases beyond 10% K doping are accompanied by small amounts of impurities. Chemical titrations show the presence of Co^4＋ and account for the Co^3＋-Co^4＋ mixed-valency of the system. The parent LaCoO3 shows spin-glass transition at low temperatures, whereas doped samples show transition from spin-glass behavior to paramagnetic ordering on progressive doping of K. ＂Mixed-conductor＂ nature of these ceramics positions them as viable candidates for solid oxide fuel cell （SOFC） applications.

Microscopic electric fields govern the majority of elementary excitations in condensed matter and drive electronics at frequencies approaching the Terahertz(THz)***,only few imaging schemes are able to resolve sub-wavelength fields in the THz range,such as scanning-probe techniques,electro-optic sampling,and ultrafast electron ***,intrinsic constraints on sample geometry,acquisition speed and field strength limit their ***,we harness the quantum-confined Stark-effect to encode ultrafast electric near-fields into colloidal quantum dot *** approach,termed Quantum-probe Field Microscopy(QFIM),combines far-field imaging of visible photons with phase-resolved sampling of electric *** capturing ultrafast movies,we spatio-temporally resolve a Terahertz resonance inside a bowtie antenna and unveil the propagation of a Terahertz waveguide excitation deeply in the sub-wavelength *** demonstrated QFIM approach is compatible with strong-field excitation and sub-micrometer resolution—introducing a direct route towards ultrafast field imaging of complex nanodevices inoperando.

The lanthanum（Ⅲ） complex [Li（thf）3（μ-CI）La{N（SiMe3）2}3]（3） was obtained by the reaction of LaCl3 with three equiv of Li[N（SiMe3）2]3 in a tetrahydrofuran solution. The molecular structure of 3 in the solid state was characterized by a tetracoordinated anionic lanthanide（Ⅲ） amide in form of an adduct with LiCl（thf）3 as evidenced by single crystal X-ray structure analysis. In order to study the suitability of 3 as a precursor for the deposition of La2O3/LiLaSiO4 by thin layer deposition techniques,its thermal behavior was investigated by thermogravimetry（TG） and TG-MS-coupled studies. TG studies show a two-step decomposition process, whereby volatile decomposition products can be detected during the second decomposition step. TG measurements under an atmosphere of oxygen produced La2O3, Calcination processes of 3 under ambient atmosphere for 10 h at 1000 ℃ gave La2O3 and LiLaSiO4,which was confirmed by PXRD studies. Metal-organic 3 was applied as spin-coating precursor for La2O3 thin film formation giving the as-deposited layers nearly crack-free.

Management of biliary tract cancer remains challenging. Tumors show high recurrence rates and therapeutic resistance, leading to dismal prognosis and short survival. The cancer stem cell model states that a tumor is a heterogeneous conglomerate of cells, in which a certain subpopulation of cells-the cancer stem cells-possesses stem cell properties. Cancer stem cells have high clinical relevance due to their potential contributions to development, progression and aggressiveness as well as recurrence and metastasis of malignant tumors. Consequently, reliable identification of as well as pharmacological intervention with cancer stem cells is an intensively investigated and promising research field. The involvement of cancer stem cells in biliary tract cancer is likely as a number of studies demonstrated their existence and the obvious clinical relevance of several established cancer stem cell markers in biliary tract cancer models and tissues. In the present article, we review and discuss the currently available literature addressing the role of putative cancer stem cells in biliary tract cancer as well as the connection between known contributors of biliary tract tumorigenesis such as oncogenic signaling pathways, micro-RNAs and the tumor microenvironment with cancer stem cells.
