Demyelination and remyelination have been major focal points in the study of peripheral nerve regeneration following peripheral nerve ***,the gene regulatory network of regenerated myelin differs from that of native *** of enhancer of zeste homolog 2(EZH2)hinders the differentiation,maturation,and myelination of Schwann cells in *** further determine the role of EZH2 in myelination and recovery post-peripheral nerve injury,conditional knockout mice lacking Ezh2 in Schwann cells(Ezh2^(fl/fl);Dhh-Cre and Ezh2^(fl/fl);Mpz-Cre)were *** results show that a significant proportion of axons in the sciatic nerve of Ezh2-depleted mice remain *** highlights the crucial role of Ezh2 in initiating Schwann cell ***,we observed that 21 days after inducing a sciatic nerve crush injury in these mice,most axons had remyelinated at the injury site in the control nerve,while Ezh2^(fl/fl);Mpz-Cre mice had significantly fewer remyelinated axons compared with their wild-type *** suggests that the absence of Ezh2 in Schwann cells impairs myelin formation and *** conclusion,EZH2 has emerged as a pivotal regulatory factor in the process of demyelination and myelin regeneration following peripheral nerve *** EZH2 activity during these processes may offer a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of peripheral nerve injuries.

Forest ecosystems play key roles in mitigating human-induced climate change through enhanced carbon uptake;however,frequently occurring climate extremes and human activities have considerably threatened the stability of *** the same time,detailed accounts of disturbances and forest responses are not yet well quantified in *** study employed the Breaks For Additive Seasonal and Trend method-an abrupt-change detection method-to analyze the Enhanced Vegetation Index time series in East Asia,South Asia,and Southeast *** approach allowed us to detect forest disturbance and quantify the resilience after *** showed that 20%of forests experienced disturbance with an increasing trend from 2000 to 2022,and Southeast Asian countries were more severely affected by ***,95%of forests had robust resilience and could recover from disturbance within a few *** resilience of forests suffering from greater magnitude of disturbance tended to be stronger than forests with lower disturbance *** summary,this study investigated the resilience of forests across the low and middle latitudes of Asia over the past two *** authors found that most forests exhibited good resilience after disturbance and about two-thirds had recovered to a better state in *** findings of this study underscore the complex relationship between disturbance and resilience,contributing to comprehension of forest resilience through satellite remote sensing.

Based on the constant modulus criterion, a new Widely Linear(WL) blind equalizer and a novel widely linear recursive least square constant modulus algorithm are proposed to improve the blind equalization performance for complex-valued noncircular signals. The new algorithm takes advantage of the WL filtering theory by taking full use of second-order statistical information of the complex-valued noncircular signals. Therefore, the weight vector contains the complete second-order information of the real and imaginary parts to decrease the residual inter-symbol interference effectively. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the proposed scheme can significantly improve the equalization performance for complex-valued noncircular signals compared with traditional blind equalization algorithms.

Hybrids and planting density are the main factors affecting maize lodging ***,we aimed to elucidate the mechanism of the regulation of maize lodging resistance by comparing two hybrids at various planting densities from the perspective of lignin *** results showed that compared to lodging-susceptible hybrid Xundan 20(XD20),lodging-resistant hybrid Denghai 605(DH605)showed a lower center of gravity and culm morphological characteristics that contributed to the higher lodging resistance of this *** content,activities of key lignin synthesis-related enzymes and G-,S-and H-type monomer contents were significantly higher in hybrid DH605 than in hybrid *** mechanical strength,lignin accumulation and enzyme activity decreased significantly with increasing planting density in the two *** G-type monomers first decreased with increasing planting density but then remained stable,S-type monomers showed a decreasing trend,and H-type monomers showed an increasing *** analysis showed that lodging rate was significantly correlated with plant traits and lignin ***,maize hybrids characterized by high lignin accumulation,high lignin synthesis-related activities,high S-type monomer content,low center of gravity,high stem puncture strength,high cortical thickness,and small vascular bundle area are more resistant to *** planting densities reduce stalk lignin accumulation,relevant enzyme activities and mechanical strength,thereby,ultimately increasing the lodging rate significantly.

Atherosclerosis(AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease associated with high morbidity and mortality. The incidence of AS is increasing in the last decades. So development of safe and effective therapeutics for treating AS has become prominently important. Although there are numerous chemical drugs available for treating AS, some drugs are not effective and some have serious side effects. Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has a long history for the prevention and treatment of AS due to its less side effects and superior efficacy. This paper describes the effectiveness and underlying mechanisms for prevention and treatment of AS by TCM or its active components. Some TCM, e.g. XuemaiNing, Tongxinluo and Salvia miltiorrhiza have been reported to have cardio-protective effect. Some active components of TCM, e.g. saikosaponin-A, kuwanon G, luteolin and β-elemene have been isolated from various TCM and demonstrated to have beneficial effects on prevention and treatment of AS.

Combining wave energy converters(WECs)with floating offshore wind turbines proves a potential strategy to achieve better use of marine renewable *** full coupling investigation on the dynamic and power generation features of the hybrid systems under operational sea states is necessary but limited by numerical simulation *** an aero-hydro-servo-elastic coupling numerical tool is developed and applied to investigate the motion,mooring tension,and energy conversion performance of a hybrid system consisting of a spar-type floating wind turbine and an annular wave energy *** show that the addition of the WEC has no significant negative effect on the dynamic performance of the platform and even enhances the rotational stability of the *** surge and pitch motion,the peak of the spectra is originated from the dominating wave component,whereas for the heave motion,the peak of the spectrum is the superposed effect of the dominating wave component and the resonance of the *** addition of the annular WEC can slightly improve the wind power by making the rotor to be in a better position to face the incoming wind and provide considerable wave energy production,which can compensate for the downtime of the offshore wind.

Influence of Chromium on Mechanical Properties and CO_2/H_2S Corrosion Behavior of P110 Grade Tube Steel

Four kinds of P110 grade tube steels containing different chromium contents were designed to probe the in- fluence of Cr on the properties of tube steel. The microstrueture, mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of the four kinds of P110 grade tube steels were studied deeply and thoroughly. The analysis of the mechanical properties indicated that tensile strength and yield strength of the steel plates were improved, while transverse and longitudinal impact energy and elongation first increased and then decreased when Cr content rose. The impact energy and elonga tion reached the peak when Cr content was 1 ~. Cr precipitates were found only in 3 ~ Cr steel, with （Nb, Ti）（C, N） or Nb（C,N） as the core of precipitation and then grew up. The corrosion experiments demonstrated that the scales on the four steels had a two layer structure under the corrosion of CO2 and H2 S. The outer layer was mainly com- posed of FeS or FeS1 x and the inner layer consisted of FeCOa and Cr compounds. Cr was rich in the inner layer and the Cr content of the inner layer increased with the Cr content in matrix. The enriched Cr enhanced the compactness of the scales, further hindering the diffusion of ions from liquid to the surface of steel, thus reducing corrosion rate.
