Background:The prevalence rates of freezing of gait(FOG)in Parkinson’s disease(PD)vary widely,ranging from 14.0 to 55.1%.Our aim is to calculate the overall prevalence of FOG in all PD patients with different disease durations and ***:Using Medline/PubMed/Embase,we carried out a systematic literature search for studies reporting the PD and clinically relevant ***:After primary screening,a total of 35 studies were identified and further analyzed for inclusion into the analysis,and 29 studies fulfilled the quality criteria and included in this *** overall prevalence of FOG in PD was 39.9%(95%CI 35.3-44.5%).The FOG identified by the freezing of gait questionnaire item 3 may be more prevalent(43.8%,95%CI 38.5-49.1%)than the FOG identified by the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale item 14(36.0%,95%CI 29.0-43.1%).Disease duration and severity are both the clinical features associated with the *** highest FOG prevalence rate in PD patients was seen in patients with disease durations≥10 years,at 70.8%,followed that of PD patients with disease durations≥5 years(53.3%),and PD patients with disease durations<5 years(22.4%).FOG presented in 28.4%of PD patients with Hoehn and Yahr staging(H&Y)score≤2.5,and in 68.4%of PD patients with H&Y score≥***:This meta-analysis confirms that the prevalence of FOG in PD is considerable,and highlights the need for accurate identification of FOG in PD.

Background: The prevalence rates of freezing of gait（FOG） in Parkinson’s disease（PD） vary widely, ranging from 14.0% to 55.1%. Our aim is to calculate the overall prevalence of FOG in all PD patients with different disease durations and severities. Materials and Methods: Using Medline/PubMed/Embase, we carried out a systematic literature search for studies reporting the PD and clinically relevant FOG. Results: After primary screening, a total of 36 studies were identified and further analyzed for inclusion into the analysis, and 30 studies fulfilled the quality criteria and included in this meta-analysis. The overall prevalence of FOG in PD was 35.8%（95%CI 34.6%-36.9%）. The FOG identified by the Freezing of Gait Questionnaire item 3 may be more prevalent（46.4%, 95%CI 44.5%-48.3%） than the FOG identified by the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale item 14（38.1%, 95%CI 35.9%-40.4%）. Disease duration and severity are both the clinical features associated with the FOG. The highest FOG prevalence rate in PD patients was seen in patients with disease durations ≥10 years, at 75.6%, followed that of PD patients with disease durations ≥ 5 years（57.6%）, and PD patients with disease durations ＜ 5 years（21.3%）. FOG presented in 16.1% of PD patients with Hoehn and Yahr staging（H＆Y） score ≤ 2.5, and in 73.3% of PD patients with H＆Y score ≥ 2.5. Conclusion: This meta-analysis confirms that the prevalence of FOG in PD is considerable, and highlights the need for accurate identification of FOG in PD.

Direct Activation of CFTR Chloride Channel by Natural Compound Theophylline

Theophylline has been widely used in the＇treatment of airway disease but molecular mechanism has not been clearly elucidated. Previous studies have manifested that theophylline increases intracellular cAMP concentra- tion. Because cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator（CFTR） is a cAMP-dependent Cl- channel that plays key roles in fluid secretion in vivo, we postulated that theophylline activates CFTR channel gating. We found （1） theophylline stimulated CFTR-mediated anion transport in a concentration-dependent manner, and CFTR specific blocker completely reversed the effect; （2） theophylline had no effect on △F508 or G551D mutant CFTR chloride channel activity; （3） theophylline had additive effect with forskolin（FSK） and 3-isobutyl-xanthin（IBMX）, thus a direct binding activation mechanism was suggested. In conclusion, the results may provide a clue to elucidating the molecular mechanism of theophylline activities and theophylline may present a novel lead drug in treating CFTR-related disease.

Activation of CFTR-mediated Cl^- Transport by Capsaicinoids in Cell Culture Model

Previous studies reported that capsaicin potentiates AF508 mutant cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator（CFTR） channel gating defect by transfected cell-based assays. It has been postulated that orally ingested capsaicin may conceptually be used to develop a therapeutic strategy to treat gastrointestinal disorders in CF patients. We tried to reproduce and extend those pre-clinical data of previous studies. Cell-based fluorescence func- tional measurements in Fischer thyroid epithelial cells（FRT） expressing CFTR showed no effect of capsaicin on potentiating AF508-CFTR, while genistein showed a strongly positive activity. Studies show that capsaicin and dihy- drocapsaicin activated cAMP-prestimulated wild-type CFTR in a dose-dependent manner with a maximal response of 70% of that activated by genistein, thus gave an apparent EC50 of （40.4±6.8）μmol/L and （150.2±7.4） μtmol/L respectively. Preliminary study shows that the binding sites for capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin may be probably partially overlapped with that for genistein because the maximal activation of wild-type CFTR with genistein is partially blocked by caosaicin and dihydrocapsaicin.

Microstructures and properties of CuZrAl and CuZrAlTi medium entropy alloys prepared by mechanical alloying and spark plasma sintering

Equiatomic CuZrAl and CuZrAlTi medium entropy alloys were designed and synthesized by mechanical alloying and spark plasma sintering *** alloying behavior,phase evolutions,microstructures and properties of samples were investigated by X-ray diffraction,differential scanning calorimetry,field emission scanning electron microscopy,microscopy/Vickers hardness testing and electrochemical polarization *** results indicate that the final products of as-milled alloys consist of amorphous *** addition improves the glass forming ability of as-milled *** as-sintered CuZrAl alloy contains face-centered cubic（fcc）solid solution,Al_（1.05）Cu_（0.95） Zr and AlZr_2 phases at different sintering *** Ti addition,the as-sintered sample is only composed of intermetallics at 690°C,while fcc1,fcc2 and CuTi3phases are formed at 1100°***-1100°C alloy exhibits the highest hardness value of 1173HV0.2owing to the high sintering density,solid solution strengthening and homogeneous precipitation of nano-size crystalline ***-690°C alloy presents a similar corrosion resistance with304 Lstainless steel in seawater solution and further possesses the lower corrosion rate.

Platypnea-orthodeoxia syndrome in a patient with a pre-existing patent foramen ovale successfully treated with an atrial septal occluder

Platypnea orthodeoxia syndrome is associated with dyspnea and arterial oxygen desamration accentuated by an upright posture. It can be secondary to an intracardiac shunt. We report a case of platypnea-orthodeoxia syndrome （POS） in a 58-year old male patient who had a pre-existing patent foramen ovale （PFO） and substantial pulmonary pathologies. He was successfully treated by percutaneous transcatheter closure of the PFO. Our case highlights the importance of recognition of this rare syndrome in patients who present with unexplained hy- poxia for whom transcatheter closure of the interatrial shunt can be safely carded out.

The lepidocrocite-type H_(1.07)Ti_(1.73)O_(4) microsized structures with a tap density of 0.88 g·cm^(-3) were prepared through the ion exchange method with K_(0.8)Li_(0.27)Ti_(1.73)O_(4) powder as the precursor,and they exhibited good rate performance and outstanding cycle stability as an anode material for lithium ion batteries(LIB).The ion exchange method provides favorable conditions for H_(1.07)Ti_(1.73)O_(4) as an anode electrode material for LIBs.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)result demonstrates the existence of defects in the nonstoichiometric H1.07Ti1.73O4,which have a beneficial effect on the LIB *** electrochemical performance test proves that the half-cell with microsized H_(1.07)Ti_(1.73)O_(4)as the anode electrode can maintain a specific capacity of 129.5 mAh·g^(-1) after 1100 cycles and 101 mAh·g^(-1)after 3000 long cycles at high current densities of 2.0 and 5.0 A·g^(-1),*** addition,the small volume change rate of 3.6%in H_(1.07)Ti_(1.73)O_(4)during Li ion insertion was confirmed by real-time in situ transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The LiFePO_(4)||H_(1.07)Ti_(1.73)O_(4)full battery exhibits a longterm cycling stability with a specific capacity of73.8 mAh·g^(-1) at a current density of 500 mA·g^(-1) after 200 cycles.

Mechanism analysis of reaction S+(2D)+H2(X1Σg^+) → SH+(X3Σ-) + H(2S) based on the quantum state-to-state dynamics

We present a state-to-state dynamical calculation on the reaction S++ H2→ SH+ +H based on an accurate X2 A″ potential surface. Some reaction properties, such as reaction probability, integral cross sections, product distribution, etc.,are found to be those with characteristics of an indirect reaction. The oscillating structures appearing in reaction probability versus collision energy are considered to be the consequence of the deep potential well in the reaction. The comparison of the present total integral cross sections with the previous quasi-classical trajectory results shows that the quantum effect is more important at low collision energies. In addition, the quantum number inversion in the rotational distribution of the product is regarded as the result of the heavy–light–light mass combination, which is not effective for the vibrational excitation. For the collision energies considered, the product differential cross sections of the title reaction are mainly concentrated in the forward and backward regions, which suggests that there is a long-life intermediate complex in the reaction process.

Chemical Investigation of Potassium Methyl Siliconate as Deacidification and Strengthening Agent for Preservation of Aged Papers

Potassium methyl siliconate （PMS） was investigated as a simple physicochemical modification in aged paper using silane coupling technique. The PMS-based solution was shown to favor penetration in the cellulose fibers on the paper with suitable uptakes being achieved at low concentrations. The studies of the physicochemical properties of the treated paper （mechanical strength and alkalinity） demonstrated that, besides the required deacidification feature and high level of alkali reserves, the immersion treatment by PMS allowed the enhancement of the mechanical intensities of paper arising from the interaction between Si--OH generated in hydrolysis of PMS and C--OH of cellulose on the paper. Adding ethanol into PMS solution could significantly improve mechanical properties of the aged paper treated by the formula apart from modifying the flatness of the paper. Optimized treatment process was achieved by altering the ratio of ethanol to water in PMS-based solutions. Contact angle measurements indicated the occurrence of hydrophobic character of the papers in immersion treatment with PMS-based solutions. The easy availability of the materials and simplicity of the method rendered it convenient for treatment for aged paper documents.

Quantum Chemistry Study of Hydrolysis Mechanism of 1,2-Thiazetidine 1,1-Dioxide

The hydrolysis of 1,2-thiazetidine 1,1-dioxide has been studied by using ab initio and density functional theory at HF/6-31G*, MP2/6-31G* and B3LYP/6-31G* levels, showing there exist two potential theoretical products. One is N-ethyl amino-methyl sulfonate (P1) in which breaking of bond S–C is concerted, the other is 2-taurine methyl ester (P2) which involves two reaction processes with two different mechanisms: concerted and stepwise. There are two pathways of a and b in stepwise, and the former is the lowest in energy barrier in the hydrolysis of 1,2-thiazetidine 1,1-dioxide. The energy barriers of water-assisted hydrolysis of 1,2-thiazetidine 1,1-dioxide are obviously lower than those of no-water-assisted hydrolysis. Solvent effects have been considered by means of a polarizable continuum model (PCM).
