How does the host-specialized aphid deal with food deficiency？

Aphis gossypii Glover shows obvious host specialization, with cucurbit- and cotton-specialized biotypes or host races in many regions. Because its annual natal hostcrops senesce earlier the cucurbit-specialized biotype may suffer food deficiency. The method this biotype uses to overcome this challenge is still poorly understood. In orderto understand the potential of the cucurbit-specialized biotype aphids in host shift and usage, the performance of this biotype on cotton （Gossypium hirsutum）, a common butpoor quality host plant, was explored in this study. The cucurbit-specialized aphids could establish populations on cotton only when these plants had at least nine leaves, and subsequent populations developed rather slowly. The presence of whitefly populations on cotton improved the success rate of cucurbit-specialized aphids. The cucurbit-specialized aphidswere mainly distributed on the older leaves of cotton, with only a few settling on the upper leaves. The cucurbit-specialized aphids reared on cotton for 40, 54 and 61 days stillmaintained strong preference for their natal host plant, cucumber （Cucumis sativus）, rather than cotton, and their net reproductive rates and intrinsic rates of natural increase weredramatically lower when they were transferred onto new six-leaf cotton plants or detached leaves. Therefore, we concluded that the cucurbit-specialized aphids have the potentialto utilize mature or whitefly-stressed cotton plants, but that this feeding experience on cotton did not alter their specialization for cucurbits. Some cotton plants could act as atemporary host for the cucurbit-specialized aphids to overcome food deficiency arising from senescing cucurbits.

Reshaping force for deformed casing repairing with hydraulic rolling reshaper and its influencing factors

Hydraulic rolling reshaper is an advanced reshaping tool to solve the problem of casing deformation,which has been widely used in recent *** it is used for well repair operation,the reshaping force provided by ground devices is generally determined by ***,too large reshaping force may destroy the deformed casing,and too small reshaping force may also prolong the construction period and affect the repairing *** this paper,based on Hertz contact theory and elastic-plastic theory,combined with the process parameters of shaping,and considering the structural characteristics of the deformed casing and reshaper,we propose a mathematical model for calculating the reshaping force required for repairing deformed casing by hydraulic rolling ***,the finite element model and numerical method of hydraulic rolling reshaper repairing deformed casing are established by using the finite element method,and the reliability of the mathematical model is verified by several *** this basis,the control variable method is used to investigate the influence of each parameter on the reshaping force,and the influence degree of each parameter is explored by orthogonal simulation test and Pearson correlation *** research results not only provide an important theoretical basis for the prediction of reshaping force in on-site construction,but also provide a reference for the subsequent improvement of the shaping process.

Fabrication method of ultra-small gradient-index fiber probe

Fabrication method and device of ultra-small gradient-index （GRIN） fiber probe were investigated in order to explore the development of ultra-small probes for optical coherence tomography （OCT） imaging. The beam- expanding effect of no-core fiber （NCF） and the focusing properties of the GRIN fiber lens were analyzed based on the model of GRIN fiber probe consisting of single-mode fiber （SMF）, NCF and GRIN fiber lens. A stereo micro- scope based system was developed to fabricate the GRIN fiber probe. A fiber fusion splicer and an ultrasonic cleaver were used to weld and cut the fiber respectively. A con- focal microscopy was used to measure the dimensions of probe components. The results show that the sizes of probe components developed are at the level of millimeter. Therefore, the proposed experimental system meets the fabrication requirements of an ultra-small self-focusing GRIN fiber probe. This shows that this fabrication device and method can be employed in the fabrication of ultra- small self-focusing GRIN fiber probe and applied in the study of miniaturized optical probes and OCT systems.

Empathetic nursing with mindful cognitive therapy for fatigue,depression,and negative emotions in leukemia patients undergoing long-term chemotherapy

Current research status on the distribution and transport of micro(nano)plastics in hyporheic zones and groundwater

Micro(nano)plastics,as an emerging environmental pollutant,are gradually discovered in hyporheic zones and *** studies have focused on the origin and spatial/temporal distribution of micro(nano)plastics in regional groundwater,together with the influence of their properties and effects of environmental factors on their ***,the transport of micro(nano)plastics in the whole hyporheic zone-groundwater system and the behavior of co-existing substances still lack a complete theoretical *** provide systematic theoretical support for that,this review summarizes the current pollution status of micro(nano)plastics in the hyporheic zone-groundwater system,provides a comprehensive introduction of their sources and fate,and classifies the transport mechanisms into mechanical transport,physicochemical transport and biological processes assisted transport fromthe perspectives ofmechanical stress,physicochemical reactions,and bioturbation,***,this review proposes to advance the understanding of the multi-dimensional hydrosphere transport of micro(nano)plastics centered on groundwater,themicroorganisms-mediated synergistic transformation and co-transport involving the intertidal ***,this review systematically dissects the presence and transport cycles of micro(nano)plastics within the hyporheic zone-groundwater system and proposes prospects for future studies based on the limitations of current studies.
