Polymer dielectrics with a high energy density and an available energy storage capacity have been playing an important role in advanced electronics and power systems. Nevertheless, the use of polymer dielectrics in harsh environments is limited by their low energy density at high temperatures. Herein, zirconium dioxide(ZrO_(2)) nanoparticles were decorated with amino group utilizing 4,4-methylenebis(phenyl isocyanate)(AMEO) and successfully incorporated into polyetherimide(PEI) matrix. The dielectric properties, breakdown strength, and energy storage performances of PEI/ZrO_(2)-AMEO nanocomposites were investigated from 25 ℃ to 150 ℃. It is found that the combination of moderate bandgap ZrO_(2) with modest dielectric constant and polar groups at interface with deep trap can offer an available strategy to simultaneously increase the dielectric constant and breakdown strength of polymer dielectrics. As a result, the composites containing ZrO_(2)-AMEO exhibit excellent energy storage performance at elevated temperatures. Specially, the PEI-based composites with 3 vol% ZrO_(2)-AMEO display a maximum discharged energy density(U_(d)) of 3.1 J/cm^(3) at 150 ℃, presenting 90% higher than that of neat PEI. This study may help to better develop the polymer-based dielectric composite applied at elevated temperatures.

Introduction Congenital granular cell epulis(CGCE)is a rare,benign tumor that manifests on the mucosal surface of the alveolar ridge in newborns.It was initially described by Neumann in 1871 and has been referred to by various names such as congenital epulis,congenital epulis of the newborn,and congenital granular cell tumor.1 Documentation on larger tumors is limited and reported diameters vary.2 Diagnosis necessitates histological examination and immunohistochemical staining,typically revealing negative immunoreactivity for S-100 and cluster of differentiation 68(CD68).3,4 This article presents a case of CGCE with weakly positive S-100 and CD68 staining,alongside a relatively large size.Additionally,it conducts a literature review on diverse aspects,encompassing multidisciplinary prenatal diagnosis,antenatal management,choice of delivery mode during childbirth,and postnatal treatment,with the objective of augmenting clinicians’comprehension of the ailment.The study adhered to the guidelines of the Declaration of Helsinki and obtained informed consent from the patient and approval from the medical ethics committee of Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children.

Background:To explore the effective chemical constituents of Feiduqing formula for prevention and treatment of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Methods:The compounds and action targets of twelve herbal medicines in Feiduqing formula were collected via Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analytic Platform.The genes corresponding to the targets were queried through the UniProt database.The“herbal medicine-ingredient-target”network was established by Cytoscape software.The Gene Ontology function enrichment analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis were performed by Database for Annotation,Visualization and Integrated Discovery.Molecular docking was used to analyze the binding force of core active compounds of Feiduqing formula with PTGS2,HSP90AA1,SARS-CoV-23CL hydrolase and angiotensin converting enzyme II(ACE2).Results:The“herbal medicine-ingredient-target”network included 434 nodes and 1948 edges,including 222 components such as quercetin,kaempferol,luteolin,etc.The key targets are PTGS2,HSP90AA1,PTGS1,ESR1,AR,NOS2,etc.Gene Ontology function enrichment analysis revealed 2530 items,including RNA polymerase II-specific,response to oxidative stress,transcription factor activity,etc.Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment screened 169 signal pathways,including Human cytomegalovirus infection,Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus infection,Hepatitis B,Hepatitis C,IL-17,TNF,etc.The results of molecular docking showed that quercetin,luteolin,β-sitosterol,stigmasterol and other core active compounds have a certain degree of affinity with PTGS2,HSP90AA1,SARS-CoV-23CL hydrolase and ACE2.Conclusion:The active compounds of Feiduqing formula may have a therapeutic effect on COVID-19 pneumonia through the action on PTGS2,HSP90AA1,SARS-CoV-23CL hydrolase and ACE2,and regulating many signaling pathways.

BACKGROUND Severe acute pancreatitis(SAP),a condition with rapid onset,critical condition and unsatisfactory prognosis,poses a certain threat to human health,warranting optimization of relevant treatment plans to improve treatment efficacy.AIM To evaluate the efficacy and safety of computerized tomography-guided the-rapeutic percutaneous puncture catheter drainage(CT-TPPCD)combined with somatostatin(SS)in the treatment of SAP.METHODS Forty-two SAP patients admitted to The Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from June 2020 to June 2023 were selected.On the basis of routine treatment,20 patients received SS therapy(control group)and 22 patients were given CT-TPPCD plus SS intervention(research group).The efficacy,safety(pancreatic fistula,intra-abdominal hemorrhage,sepsis,and organ dysfunction syndrome),abdominal bloating and pain relief time,bowel recovery time,hospital stay,inflammatory indicators(C-reactive protein,interleukin-6,and pro-calcitonin),and Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation(APACHE)II score of both groups were evaluated for comparison.RESULTS Compared with the control group,the research group had a markedly higher total effective rate,faster abdominal bloating and pain relief and bowel recovery,INTRODUCTION Pancreatitis,an inflammatory disease occurring in the pancreatic tissue,is classified as either acute or chronic and is associated with high morbidity and mortality,imposing a socioeconomic burden[1,2].The pathogenesis of this disease involves early protease activation,activation of nuclear factor kappa-B-related inflammatory reactions,and infiltration of immune cells[3].Severe acute pancreatitis(SAP)is a serious condition involving systemic injury and subsequent possible organ failure,accounting for 20%of all acute pancreatitis cases[4].SAP is also characterized by rapid onset,critical illness and unsatisfactory prognosis and is correlated with serious adverse events such as systemic inflammatory response syn-drome and acute lung injury,threatening the health of pa

BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)is the third most common cancer and the second most common cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide.Mesenchymal-epithelial transition factor(MET)gene participates in multiple tumor biology and shows clinical potential for pharmacological manipulation in tumor treatment.MET amplification has been reported in CRC,but data are very limited.Investigating pathological values of MET in CRC may provide new therapeutic and genetic screening options in future clinical practice.AIM To determine the pathological significance of MET amplification in CRC and to propose a feasible screening strategy.METHODS A number of 205 newly diagnosed CRC patients undergoing surgical resection without any preoperative therapy at Shenzhen Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences were recruited.All patients were without RAS/RAF mutation or microsatellite instability-high.MET amplification and c-MET protein expression were analyzed using fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH)and immunohistochemistry(IHC),respectively.Correlations between MET aberration and pathological features were detected using the chi-squared test.Progression free survival(PFS)during the two-year follow-up was detected using the Kaplan-Meier method and log rank test.The results of MET FISH and IHC were com pared using one-way ANOVA.RESULTS Polysomy-induced MET amplification was observed in 14.4%of cases,and focal MET amplification was not detected.Polysomy-induced MET amplification was associated with a higher frequency of lymph node metastasis(LNM)(P<0.001)and higher tumor budding grade(P=0.02).In the survival analysis,significant difference was detected between patients with amplified-and non-amplified MET in a two-year follow-up after the first diagnosis(P=0.001).C-MET scores of 0,1+,2+,and 3+were observed in 1.4%,24.9%,54.7%,and 19.0%of tumors,respectively.C-MET overexpression correlated with higher frequency of LNM(P=0.002),but no significant difference of PFS was detected between patients with different protein lev

The construction of grouting butt joints of bamboo tubes is simple and efficient.However,when the joint is bent,the low tensile strength of the mortar easily leads to cracking of the mortar prior to the failure of the bamboo tube.In this paper,a comparative test of the bending capacity was performed on grouting butt joints reinforced by nonperforated,fully perforated,and semiperforated steel plates embedded in bamboo tubes to obtain the loaddisplacement curves and ultimate bearing capacity of various specimens.The strengthening effect of CFRP pasted on bamboo tubes was also studied.The results show that the opening at the end of the steel plate is beneficial to resist the slip between the mortar and steel plate,while the complete section in the middle of the steel plate is conducive to making full use of the tensile strength of the steel plate.Therefore,it is best to insert the semiperforated steel plate with openings in the end and without openings in the middle into the mortar to enhance the bending properties of the grouting butt joint,which can make the failure mode of the joint change from brittle failure of mortar to ductile compression failure of bamboo tube.In addition,pasting CFRP sheets on the external wall of the bamboo tube helps to reduce the tensile stress of the mortar,while increasing the width of the steel plate can increase the bending moment of inertia of the mixture of the steel plate and mortar.These two complementary measures are very effective in delaying the cracking of the bamboo tube and improving the bending capacity of the joint.

China has planned and built several world-class cascade high dams in Jinsha River,Dadu River,Lancang River,and Yarlung Zangbo River.The complex geological conditions in the reservoir area and numerous large-scale landslide bodies make the potential disaster risk of overflowing and cascade dam failure caused by landslide-generated tsunami under increasing severe situations.However,the study on describing and predicting the complex dynamic processes of generation,propagation,overflowing,wave setup,and the interaction between tsunami and lakeshore has not been systematically carried out.Based on the high-order Boussinesq-type equations,the development of the dynamic system of tsunamis in lakes coupled with the landslide process is realized using the finite volume method in this paper.To verify the accuracy and reliability of the study,the Xiluodu Reservoir is selected as the object to simulate the potential landslide-generated tsunamis.The factors such as the generation and propagation of tsunamis,dam overflowing,and wave setup in the downstream river are quantitatively evaluated and analyzed.The constructed landslide with a total volume of 24×10^(6)m^(3)generates a near-field wave amplitude of about 28 m.The maximum wave run-up height is about 95 m,the volume of the dam overflowing water up to 2.13×10^(6)m^(3),and the maximum wave height above the dam crest presents an M-shaped distribution.This LGWs event raises the downstream water level by nearly 40 m.The results show that the risk of landslide-generated tsunamis in the reservoir area in China cannot be ignored.The developed Boussinesq-type equations coupled with the landslide dynamics can simulate the whole process of generation,propagation,runup,and estimating the overflowing water volume of the tsunamis in the lake,laying a foundation for the quantitative risk assessment of tsunamis in lakes of high cascade dams in China.

On Earth,salt environments are the most relevant analogues to Martian salt deposits with regard to the search for preserved biomolecules.In this study,we analyzed the distribution of lipids in salt samples from Dalangtan and Qarhan in the Qaidam Basin,which is the most important area to carry out analog research of Mars in China.Furthermore,we compared the lipids distribution results with that from other typical Martian analog sites such as the Atacama Desert.Salt samples in the Qaidam Basin are enriched with fatty acid compounds,including normal fatty acids,unsaturated fatty acids,branched fatty acids,and acyclic isoprene acids.In addtion,glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers(GDGTs)and archaeol compounds were also detected in these salt samples.Compared with the hypersaline samples,the clay samples not only have higher abuandance of fatty acids,GDGTs and archaeol compounds,but also a more diversed lipids composition.Only a few lipids were detected in the pure-saline samples,such as archaeol compounds.These clues suggest that content of salt minerals is the major factor affecting the distribution of lipids.This study provides an analogy for detecting and evaluating the traces of life that may exist on Mars.

Osteoblasts are essential in the maintenance of human bone homeostasis.1 The abnormal formation and impaired differentiation ability of osteoblasts are pivotal factors leading to bone-related diseases,suggesting that an indepth study of osteoblasts can provide novel treatment strategies for these diseases.2 Human primary osteoblasts are precious experimental models in bone-related research.3 However,the isolation and culture of human primary osteoblasts still have some difficulties and limitations.Here,we refined a method to isolate and culture human primary osteoblasts by taking cancellous bone through a bone tissue sampler and pre-digesting it with pancreatin,which makes the process easier,cheaper,and more efficient.Furthermore,we compared the effects of the subtle changes in isolation and culture methods on the phenotype of human primary osteoblasts and examined the differences in morphology,proliferation,and differentiation between micro-explants cultured osteoblasts(MECOBs)and explants cultured osteoblasts(EC-OBs).

BACKGROUND Pancreatic cancer is a highly malignant disease.After decades of treatment progress,the current five-year survival rate for patients is still less than 10%.For later-line treatment,the treatment options are even more limited.Anti-angiogenic drugs can improve progression-free survival in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.Preclinical data show that fruquintinib might improve the prognosis of advanced pancreatic cancer by targeting angiogenesis and lymphopoiesis,improving the abnormal vascular structure,and modulating the tumour immune microenvironment.CASE SUMMARY We present two cases of third-line fruquintinib monotherapy that brought an extraprolonged progress-free survival(PFS)of 10 months.Patient 1 took adjuvant gemcitabine-based and first-line nab-paclitaxel-based chemotherapy and then used local radiotherapy combined with programmed cell death 1 receptor(PD-1).Each line lasted approximately 7 months.Moreover,the patient took third-line fruquintinib,which was followed by stable disease for 10 months,during which no additional adverse effect was observed.The patient later refused to take fruquintinib due to difficulty urinating and lower abdominal pain after the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)infection.The patient died in February 2023.Patient 2 also took two prior lines of chemotherapy and then local radiotherapy combined with S-1.After confirmed disease progression,the patient experienced a continuous partial response after using fruquintinib monotherapy in the third line.After the patient had COVID-19 in December 2022,fruquintinib was discontinued.The patient died in January 2023 due to disease progression.CONCLUSION Both cases achieved a PFS benefit from later-line single-agent fruquintinib therapy.With its better safety profile,fruquintinib may be worth exploring and studying in more depth as a later-line treatment for pancreatic cancer patients.
