Saline wastewater is regarded as a challenge for wastewater treatment plants because high-salinity conditions negatively affect on traditional biological *** granular sludge(AGS)has gained attention as a promising technology for saline wastewater treatment because of its compact structure and the ability to withstand toxic ***,this study investigated the saltresistance performance,sludge properties and microbial community of AGS under low-salinity and high-salinity conditions,with the saline concentrations ranging from 0 to 50 g/*** results showed that AGS could withstand long-term saline stresses,and the maximum salinity reached 50 g/L within 113 *** salinities of 10,30,and 50 g/L,the chemical oxygen demand(COD)removal efficiencies were 90.3%,88.0%and 78.0%,*** also its maintained strength and aggregation at salinities of 10 and 30 g/*** of extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)by non-halophilic bacteria that enhanced sludge *** compact structure that ensured the microorganisms bioactivity helped to remove organic matters under salinities of 10 and 30 g/*** a salinity of 50 g/L,moderately halophilic bacteria,including Salinicola,Thioclava,Idiomarina and Albirhodobacter,prevailed in the *** dominant microbial communities shifted to moderately halophilic bacteria,which could maintain aerobic granular stabilization and remove organic matters under 50 g/L *** results in this study provide a further explanation for the long-term operation of AGS for treating saline wastewater at different *** is hoped that this work could bring some clues for the mystery of salt-resistance mechanisms.

The rising CO_(2) concentration in the atmosphere due to extensive use of fossil fuels has led to serious climate and environmental issues. One efficient solution is that CO_(2) capture from industrial emissions followed its conversion into value-added chemicals driven by renewable energies. CO_(2) electroreduction(CO_(2) RR) features a green and sustainable fashion towards effective CO_(2) conversion, but still suffers from low multi-carbon selectivity and yield. Considering the pivotal role of CO intermediate in C–C coupling to multi-carbon formation, tandem CO_(2) RR systems with separated CO generation and consumption components could facilitate the coupling between *CO-based intermediates to energy-intensive multi-carbons by manipulating CO diffusion and surface coverage. In this aspect, we comprehensively reviewed the design principles of tandem systems for CO_(2) electroreduction reaction. The chemistry behind the C–C coupling regarding to their distribution and diffusion was initially introduced, which was followed by achievements on tandem architectures, from catalysts, electrodes to systems. Future directions and perspectives on advanced tandem system designs for CO_(2) RR were discussed at the end. This review contributes to the understanding of structureperformance correlations in tandem catalysis and helps guide the effective collection of multi-carbons of high-yield and highselectivity.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic,caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),is still a worldwide concern,with little to no sign of a decreasing *** is a general consensus that normal life will be hampered until a safe and effective vaccine strategy is available and globally *** countries have accelerated the clinical trials process for the development of a successful COVID-19 treatment,with over 200 candidates presently available for testing against ***,we provide an overview of the COVID-19 vaccine candidates currently in development,discuss the scientific and practical challenges associated with COVID-19 vaccine design,and share the potential strategies that could be exploited for vaccine design success.

Antibody immunotherapy is a well-established therapeutic modality for cancer, acute viral infections （Marasco and Sui, 2007） and persistent viral infection such as HIV （Barouch et al., 2013） and HCMV （Freed et al., 2013）. To reduce immunogenicity of rodent antibodies （Abs）, approved anti-body drugs entering clinical trials are of human origin or are humanized versions of rodent antibodies （Reichert, 2008）.

Antitumor therapies based on adoptively transferred T cells or oncolytic viruses have made significant progress in recent years,but the limited efficiency of their infiltration into solid tumors makes it difficult to achieve desired antitumor effects when used *** this study,an oncolytic virus(rVSV-LCMVG)that is not prone to induce virus-neutralizing antibodies was designed and combined with adoptively transferred T *** transforming the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment into an immunosensitive one,in B16 tumor-bearing mice,combination therapy showed superior antitumor effects than *** occurred whether the OV was administered intratumorally or *** therapy significantly increased cytokine and chemokine levels within tumors and recruited CD8^(+)T cells to the TME to trigger antitumor immune *** with adoptively transferred T cells and subsequent oncolytic virotherapy sensitizes refractory tumors by boosting T-cell recruitment,downregulating the expression of PD-1,and restoring effector T-cell *** offer a combination therapy with greater translational value,mRNA vaccines were introduced to induce tumor-specific T cells instead of adoptively transferred T *** combination of OVs and mRNA vaccine also displays a significant reduction in tumor burden and prolonged *** study proposed a rational combination therapy of OVs with adoptive T-cell transfer or mRNA vaccines encoding tumor-associated antigens,in terms of synergistic efficacy and mechanism.

Continual evolution of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)virus has allowed for its gradual evasion of neutralizing antibodies(nAbs)produced in response to natural infection or *** rapid nature of these changes has incited a need for the development of superior broad nAbs(bnAbs)and/or the rational design of an antibody cocktail that can protect against the mutated virus ***,we report two angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 competing nAbs—8H12 and 3E2—with synergistic neutralization but evaded by some Omicron ***-electron microscopy reveals the two nAbs synergistic neutralizing virus through a rigorous pairing permitted by rearrangement of the 472-489 loop in the receptor-binding domain to avoid steric *** antibodies based on these two nAbs tremendously extend the neutralizing breadth and restore neutralization against recent variants including currently dominant ***,these findings expand our understanding of the potential strategies for the neutralization of SARS-CoV-2 variants toward the design of broad-acting antibody therapeutics and vaccines.
