Short-term displacement prediction for newly established monitoring slopes based on transfer learning

This study makes a significant progress in addressing the challenges of short-term slope displacement prediction in the Universal Landslide Monitoring Program,an unprecedented disaster mitigation program in China,where lots of newly established monitoring slopes lack sufficient historical deformation data,making it difficult to extract deformation patterns and provide effective predictions which plays a crucial role in the early warning and forecasting of landslide hazards.A slope displacement prediction method based on transfer learning is therefore ***,the method transfers the deformation patterns learned from slopes with relatively rich deformation data by a pre-trained model based on a multi-slope integrated dataset to newly established monitoring slopes with limited or even no useful data,thus enabling rapid and efficient predictions for these ***,as time goes on and monitoring data accumulates,fine-tuning of the pre-trained model for individual slopes can further improve prediction accuracy,enabling continuous optimization of prediction results.A case study indicates that,after being trained on a multi-slope integrated dataset,the TCN-Transformer model can efficiently serve as a pretrained model for displacement prediction at newly established monitoring *** three-day average RMSE is significantly reduced by 34.6%compared to models trained only on individual slope data,and it also successfully predicts the majority of deformation *** fine-tuned model based on accumulated data on the target newly established monitoring slope further reduced the three-day RMSE by 37.2.,demonstrating a considerable predictive *** conclusion,taking advantage of transfer learning,the proposed slope displacement prediction method effectively utilizes the available data,which enables the rapid deployment and continual refinement of displacement predictions on newly established monitoring slopes.

In the high-speed cold tandem rolling process of thin plate,chatter or slip instability gives rise to the deterioration of equipment and product *** instability behavior is closely related to interfacial friction-lubrication con-dition which is generally characterized by the friction ***,with higher and higher speed requirements,the commonly used model of friction coefficient is no longer applicable and accurate.A novel approach is suggested to calculate the speed-dependent friction coefficient,in which the viscosity-pressure-temperature effects of the lubricant,surface roughness states of work rolls and rolled piece are comprehensively involved and the mixed flm lubrication theory is ***,the influences of friction coefficient on the instability of slip and chatter are investigated for a five-stand cold tandem rolling *** one side,the critical friction coefficient for each stand is determined by calculating the corresponding slip factor;on the other hand,the friction coefficient varying with rolling speed is combined with the model of theoretical critical rolling speed presented under constant friction coefficient,so that the speed threshold is ***,the stable and unstable regions corresponding to the rear three stands are individually discussed,and the technical strategies are proposed to suppress both slip and chatter frequently occurring in the actual rolling process.

Side-chain engineering has emerged as a highly effective strategy for tailoring the aggregation behavior and charge transport properties of non-fullerene small molecule acceptors(SMAs).In this study,we designed and synthesized two SMAs,namely BTPSi-Bu and BTPSi-Pr,respectively incorporating tributylsilyloxy and trisopropylsilyloxy groups in their outer ***,BTPSi-Bu exhibited better planarity,crystallization,and favorable phase separation when paired with PM6 donor polymer compared to its counterpart,*** resulting organic solar cells,utilizing the PM6:BTPSi-Bu blend,demonstrated a remarkable power conversion efficiency of 17.41%and a high open-circuit voltage of 0.859 *** findings underscore the significance of integrating trialkylsilyloxy side chains into SMAs as a rational design approach for enhancing the performance of photovoltaic systems.

TSC prediction and dynamic control of BOF steelmaking with state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning methods

Mathematical(data-driven)models based on state-of-the-art(SOTA)machine learning and deep learning models and data collected from 12.786 heats were established to predict the values of temperature,sample,and carbon(TSC)test,including temperature of molten steel(TSC-Temp),carbon content(TSC-C)and phosphorus content(TSC-P),which made prepa-ration for eliminating the TSC *** maximize the prediction accuracy of the proposed approach,various models with different inputs were implemented and compared,and the best models were applied to the production process of a Hesteel Group steelmaking plant in China in the *** number of tabular features(hot metal information,scrap,additives,blowing practices,and preset values)was expanded,and time series(off-gas profiles and blowing practice curves)that could reflect the entire steelmaking process were introduced as ***,the latest machine learning models(LightGBM,CatBoost,TabNet,and NODE)were used to make predictions with tabular features,and the best coefficient of determination R^(2.values obtained for TSC-P,TSC-C and TSC-Temp predictions were 0.435(LightGBM),0.857(Cat-Boost)and 0.678(LightGBM),respectively,which were higher than those of classic models(backpropagation and support vector machine).Then,making predictions was performed by using SOTA time series regression models(SCINet,DLinear,Informer,and MLSTM-FCN)with original time series,SOTA image regression models(NesT,CaiT,ResNeXt,and GoogLeNet)with resized time series,and the proposed Concatenate-Model and Parallel-Model with both tabular features and time *** optimization and comparisons,it was finally determined that the Concatenate-Model with MLSTM-FCN,SCINet and Informer as feature extractors performed the best,and its R^(2.values for predicting TSC-P,TSC-C and TSC-Temp reached 0.470,0.858 and 0.710,*** field test accuracies for TSC-P,TSC-C and TSC-Temp were 0.459,0.850 and 0.685,respectively.A related importance analysis was carri

Extensive efforts have been made to pursue a low-friction state with promising applications in many fields,such as mechanical and biomedical *** which,the load capacity of the low-friction state has been considered to be crucial for industrial ***,we report a low friction under ultrahigh contact pressure by building a novel self-assembled fluorinated azobenzene layer on an atomically smooth highly-oriented pyrolytic graphite(HOPG)*** friction coefficients could be as low as 0.0005 or even lower under a contact pressure of up to 4 *** demonstrates that the low friction under ultrahigh contact pressure is attributed to molecular *** fluorination leads to effective and robust lubrication between the tip and the self-assembled layer and enhances tighter rigidity which can reduce the stress concentration in the substrate,which was verified by density functional theory(DFT)and molecular dynamics(MD)*** work provides a new approach to avoid the failure of ultralow friction coefficient under relatively high contact pressure,which has promising potential application value in the future.

The Cretaceous was a significant greenhouse period in Earth's history with higher atmospheric CO_(2. levels and temperatures than today. Although evidence of combustion has been widely described from the Cretaceous deposits, our understanding of the spatiotemporal diversification pattern and process of the Cretaceous wildfires is still limited. In this study, we comprehensively synthesize a total of 2.1 published Cretaceous wildfire occurrences based on the by-products of burning, including fossil charcoal, pyrogenic inertinite(fossil charcoal in coal), and pyrogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs). Spatially, the dataset shows a distinctive distribution of reported wildfire evidence characterized by high concentration in the middle latitudinal areas of the Northern Hemisphere(30°N-60°N) over the Cretaceous. Temporally, an overall increasing trend of the reported wildfire data from the Early Cretaceous to the Late Cretaceous is coincident with higher atmospheric O_(2. levels. However, the spatial and temporal patterns may result from many types of factors, such as taphonomy, preservation, and researcher biases, instead of a real picture of the Cretaceous wildfire evolution. To better understand the spatiotemporal diversification of the Cretaceous wildfire, more investigations on the record of wildfire occurrences during this period would be necessary in the future.

Two-dimensional(2.)mesoporous pseudocapacitive polymer/graphene heterostructures combine the advanced merits of 2. materials and mesoporous materials,possessing unique nanosheet structure,large specific surface area(SSA),abundant oxygen/nitrogen-containing groups,desirable electrical conductivity and admirable electrochemical redox activity,and hold great potential for constructing high-performance planar micro-supercapacitors(MSCs).Herein,we demonstrate the interfacial assembly of 2. mesoporous polydopamine/graphene(mPDG)heterostructures with well-defined mesopore structure(12.nm)and adjustable thickness(7.5–14.1 nm)for planar high-energy pseudocapacitive *** to medium thickness,exposed mesopore of 12.nm and large SSA of 108 m^(2./g,the m PDG with 10.8 nm thickness reveals prominent mass capacitance of 419 F/g and impressive cycling stability with~96%capacitance retention after 5000 ***,the symmetric mPDG-based MSCs with“water-in-salt”gel electrolyte present wide voltage window of 1.6 V,superior volumetric energy density of 11.5 mWh/cm^(3),outstanding flexibility and self-integration ***,this work offers a new platform of controllably synthesizing 2. mesoporous heterostructures for high-performance MSCs.

As part of the Chinese tianwen-1 mission,the Zhurong Rover began its scientific investigation in the southern Utopia Planitia after its successful landing in 15 May,*** Zhurong Rover magnetometer(RoMAG),one of the six payloads onboard the rover,includes two identical high-sensitivity triaxial fluxgate magnetometers and can implement mobile magnetic measurements on the surface of *** a rover magnetic compensation procedure was conducted to remove the magnetic interferences pre-launch,due to the different state of the payloads and electric power system such as the solar panel,an along-track calibration of the magnetometer is necessary to obtain a more accurate Martian magnetic *** methods,mast yaw rotations and Rover yaw rotations were utilized separately to determine the Martian horizontal magnetic *** show that the Martian horizontal magnetic components determined by the two methods are in good agreement,with the root mean square deviation less than 2.0 *** vertical component was also constrained through the pitch movements of the mast by assuming the interferences field distributes like a dipole field.A linear correlation between magnetic field measurements and the solar array currents was derived to calibrate the body field during the regular *** conclude that more accurate measurements could be made when applying the calibration results in the magnetic survey on the surface of Mars.
