Investigation on cost-effective composites for CO_(2) adsorption from post-gasification residue and metal organic framework

Cost-effective CO_(2) adsorbents are gaining increasing attention as viable solutions for mitigating climate *** this study,composites were synthesized by electrochemically combining the post-gasification residue of Macadamia nut shell with copper benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate(CuBTC).Among the different composites synthesized,the ratio of 1:1 between biochar and CuBTC(B 1:1)demonstrated the highest CO_(2) adsorption *** controlled laboratory conditions(0°C,1 bar,without the influence of ambient moisture or CO_(2) diffusion limitations),B 1:1 achieved a CO_(2) adsorption capacity of 9.8 mmol/g,while under industrial-like conditions(25℃,1 bar,taking into account the impact of ambient moisture and CO_(2) diffusion limitations within a bed of adsorbent),it reached 6.2 mmol/*** values surpassed those reported for various advanced CO_(2) adsorbents investigated in previous *** superior performance of the B 1:1 composite can be attributed to the optimization of the number of active sites,porosity,and the preservation of the full physical and chemical surface properties of both ***,the composite exhibited a notable CO_(2)/N_(2) selectivity and improved stability under moisture *** favorable characteristics make B 1:1 a promising candidate for industrial applications.

Optimization of the in Vitro Fertilization System in Cỏ Goat Oocytes

This study aimed to optimization of the in vitro fertilization system in Cỏ goat oocytes to achieve the maximum possible blastocyst development rate. In Experiment 1, we assessed the effects of IVF media on the in vitro fertilization of Cỏ goat oocytes. There was no significant difference in the cleavage, blastocyst, or hatching rates between TALP-Fert and BO-IVF media. Experiment 2 was performed to assess the concentration of sperm in the in vitro fertilization of Cỏ goat oocytes. The matured Cỏ goat oocytes were fertilized in BO-IVF for four sperm concentrations: 5 × 105, 1 × 106, 2 × 106 and 3 × 106 sperm/ml. The blastocyst rate of 2 × 106 sperm/ml and 3 × 106 sperm/ml groups was higher than that of 5 × 105 sperm/ml and 1 × 106 sperm/ml groups (P Experiment 3 was performed to assess the IVF duration on the in vitro fertilization of Cỏ goat oocytes. The matured Cỏ goat oocytes were fertilized in BO-IVF with sperm concentration of 3 × 106 sperm/ml for 18, 20, 22 and 24 h. The cleavage, blastocyst, and hatching blastocyst rates of 18 h group were lower than those of 20, 22 and 24 h groups (P 0.05). In conclusion, the matured Cỏ goat oocytes were fertilized in BO-IVF with sperm concentration of 3 × 106 sperm/ml for 20 hours, which is suitable for the in vitro Cỏ goat embryo production.

BACKGROUND Tacrolimus(TAC)is metabolized primarily by the CYP3A-encoded enzyme family(CYP3A4,CYP3A5,and CYP3A7).Individuals expressing the CYP3A51 allele are considered fast metabolizers and generally require higher TAC doses to reach therapeutic *** To evaluate the predictive value of the TAC concentration-to-dose(C0/D)ratio for identifying CYP3A5 poly-morphisms in renal transplant *** Eighty-six de novo kidney transplant recipients with TAC-based immunosuppression from the Department of Nephrology and Dialysis at Military Hospital 103(Hanoi,Vietnam)were included in this retrospective *** samples were collected within the first week post-transplantation to monitor TAC levels and to perform genotyping for CYP3A5 genetic *** The CYP3A53/3 genotype was identified in 37 patients(43%),CYP3A51/3 in 40 patients(46.5%),and CYP3A51/1 in 9 patients(10.5%).Patients carrying the CYP3A51/3 or CYP3A51/1 genotype,classified as fast metabolizers(CYP3A5 expressers),had significantly lower TAC C0 concentrations and C0/D ratios compared to slow meta-bolizers(CYP3A53/3 genotype)at multiple time points during follow-up(all P<0.001).Notably,the TAC C0/D ratio obtained on day 1(0.91)was shown to predict CYP3A5 polymorphism with a sensitivity of 84.6%and a specificity of 84.6%.CONCLUSION This study demonstrates that the TAC C0/D ratio provides a reliable predictive value for CYP3A5 polymorphisms,which can be used to individualize TAC dosing in renal transplant recipients in Vietnam and other low-income countries.

Objective: To isolate a-mangostin(AMG) from the peels of mangosteen(Garcinia mangostana L.), grown in Vietnam, and to investigate antibiofilm activity of this compound against three Staphylococcus aureus(S. aureus) strains, one of which was methicillin-resistant S. aureus(MRSA) and the other two strains were methicillinsensitive S. aureus(MSSA).Methods: AMG in n-hexane fraction was isolated on a silica gel column and chemically analyzed by HPLC and NMR. The antibiofilm activity of this compound was investigated by using a 96-well plate model for the formation of biofilms. Biofilm biomass was quantified using crystal violet. The viability of cells was observed under confocal microscopy using LIVE/DEAD Bac Light stains. Biofilm composition was determined using specific chemical and enzyme tests for polysaccharide, protein and DNA. Membranedamaging activity was assayed by measuring the hemolysis of human red blood cells in presence of ***: The results indicated that the isolated AMG, with a purity that exceeded 98%,had minimal inhibitory concentrations in the range of 4.6–9.2 mmol/L for the three strains tested. Interestingly, the MSSA strains were more sensitive to AMG than the MRSA strain. Minimal bactericidal concentrations were 2-fold higher than the minimal inhibitory concentration values for the three strains, indicating that AMG was a bactericidal compound. AMG also prevented biofilm formation effectively, albeit that again the MRSA strain was the most resistant. Interestingly, biofilms of the MRSA strain contained protein as a main component of the extracellular matrix, whereas this was polysaccharide in the MSSA strains. This might relate to the resistance of the MRSA 252 strain to *** using human red blood cells indicated that AMG caused significant membrane damage with 50% of cell lysis occurred at concentration of about 36 mmol/***: Our results provide evidence that the isolated AMG has inhibitory activity against biofilm formation

Transient response of doubly-curved bio-inspired composite shells resting on viscoelastic foundation subject to blast load using improved first-order shear theory and isogeometric approach

Investigating natural-inspired applications is a perennially appealing subject for scientists. The current increase in the speed of natural-origin structure growth may be linked to their superior mechanical properties and environmental resilience. Biological composite structures with helicoidal schemes and designs have remarkable capacities to absorb impact energy and withstand damage. However, there is a dearth of extensive study on the influence of fiber redirection and reorientation inside the matrix of a helicoid structure on its mechanical performance and reactivity. The present study aimed to explore the static and transient responses of a bio-inspired helicoid laminated composite(B-iHLC) shell under the influence of an explosive load using an isomorphic method. The structural integrity of the shell is maintained by a viscoelastic basis known as the Pasternak foundation, which encompasses two coefficients of stiffness and one coefficient of damping. The equilibrium equations governing shell dynamics are obtained by using Hamilton's principle and including the modified first-order shear theory,therefore obviating the need to employ a shear correction factor. The paper's model and approach are validated by doing numerical comparisons with respected publications. The findings of this study may be used in the construction of military and civilian infrastructure in situations when the structure is subjected to severe stresses that might potentially result in catastrophic collapse. The findings of this paper serve as the foundation for several other issues, including geometric optimization and the dynamic response of similar mechanical structures.
