Biotransform.tion of 6:2 fluorotelom.r sulfonate (6:2 FTS) by two species of white-rot fungi, Pleurotus ostreatus (P. ostreatus) and Tram.topsis cervina (T. cervina), was investigated in a sulfur-rich m.dium.designed to stim.late production of lignin-degrading enzym.s. Degradation of 6:2 FTS was observed by T. cervina over the study period of 30 d, but not by P. ostreatus. Biotransform.tion rates were com.arable to those found in other studies investigating m.xed culture degradation in non-sulfur lim.ting m.dia, with approxim.tely 50 m.l% of applied 6:2 FTS rem.ved after 30 d. Stable transform.tion products were short-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids (PFCAs), including PFHxA (2.27 m.l%), PFPeA (0.24 m.l%), and PFBA (0.28 m.l%). The m.in interm.diate products include 5:2 sFTOH (16.3 m.l%) and 5:3 FTCA (2.99 m.l%), while 6:2 FTCA, 6:2 FTuCA, and 5:2 ketone were also identified at low levels. Approxim.tely 60 m.l% of detected products were assigned to the m.jor pathway to 5:2 ketone, and 40 m.l% were assigned to the m.nor pathway to 5:3 FTCA. The overall m.lar balance was found to decrease to 75 m.l% by Day 30, however, was closed to near 95 m.l% with a theoretical estim.tion for the volatile interm.diates in the headspace, 5:2 ketone and 5:2 sFTOH. The different capabilities of the two white-rot fungal species for 6:2 FTS biotransform.tion in sulfur-rich m.dia suggest that the enzym. processes of T. cervina to de-sulfonate 6:2 FTS m.y be unrelated to sulfur m.tabolism. Introduction:Childhood circum.tances im.act senior health,prom.ting the introduction of m.chine learning m.thods to assess their individual and collective contributions to senior ***:Using health and retirem.nt study(HRS)and China Health and Retirem.nt Longitudinal Study(CHARLS),we analyzed 2,434 Am.rican and 5,612 Chinese participants aged 60 and *** inference trees and forests were em.loyed to estim.te the influence of childhood circum.tances on self-rated health(SRH).Results:The conventional m.thod estim.ted higher inequality of opportunity(IOP)values in both China(0.039,accounting for 22.67%of the total Gini coefficient 0.172)and the US(0.067,accounting for 35.08%of the total Gini coefficient 0.191).In contrast,the conditional inference tree yielded lower estim.tes(China:0.022,accounting for 12.79%of 0.172;US:0.044,accounting for 23.04%of 0.191),as did the forest(China:0.035,accounting for 20.35%of 0.172;US:0.054,accounting for 28.27%of 0.191).Childhood health,financial status,and regional differences were key determ.nants of senior *** conditional inference forest consistently outperform.d others in predictive accuracy,as dem.nstrated by lower out-of-sam.le m.an squared error(m.E).Discussion:The findings em.hasize the need for early-life interventions to prom.te health equity in aging *** learning showcases the potential in identifying contributing factors.

Objectives:Prior research on olfactory dysfunction in chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS)has focused on patients with polyps and suggests that direct inflam.ation of the olfactory cleft m.cosa plays a contributory *** purpose of this study was to evaluate gene expression in superior turbinate m.cosal specim.ns,com.aring norm.sm.c and dysosm.c CRS patients without polyps(CRSsNP).m.thods:Tissue sam.les were obtained from.the superior turbinates of patients with CRSsNP at the tim. of endoscopic sinus *** subsequently underwent RNA sequencing and functional analysis to investigate biological pathways associated with differentially expressed genes between dysosm.c(n=7)and norm.sm.c(n=4)***:Differential gene expression analysis com.aring dysosm.c and norm.sm.c CRSsNP patients showed upregulation of 563 genes and downregulation of 327 *** stringent criteria for m.ltiple com.arisons,one upregulated gene(Im.ediate Early Response 3[IER3])had an false discovery rate(FDR)correction adjustedP value considered statistically significant(Pm. functional analysis revealed eight biological pathways significantly different between dysosm.c and norm.sm.c patients(Pm.tion regarding biological pathways and genes involved in olfactory *** study supports literature suggesting that Type 2 inflam.ation m.y play a role in olfactory dysfunction in at least som. patients with *** study also prom.ts questions regarding the role of IL-10,rhodopsin-like receptors,andIER3 in the pathogenesis of olfactory dysfunction.

Date palm.pit(DPP)-filled poly(-hydroxybutyrate)(PHB)com.osites were prepared,evaluated,and characterized to determ.ne their therm.l insulation *** conductivity values ranged between 0.086 and 0.100 W/(m.K).At a m.xim.m.filler concentration(50%(w)),the specific heat capacity and therm.l diffusivity were 1183 J/(kg·K)and 0.0689 m.^(2)/s,*** DPP increased the therm.l stability,and the highest com.ressive strength obtained was 80 m.a at 30%filler *** PHB-DPP com.osites exhibited prom.sing water absorption(less than 6%)and tensile strength(6-14 m.a).Date-pit-based PHB com.osites could be used in sustainable building engineering and cleaner production.
