Exploring efficient and nonprecious metal electrocatalysts of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is crucial for developing rechargeable zinc-air batteries(ZABs).Herein,an alloying-degree control strategy was employed to fabricate nitrogen-doped carbon sphere(NcS)decorated with dual-phase co/co_(7)Fe_(3)heterojunctions(coFe@NcS).The phase composition of materials has been adjusted by controlling the alloying *** optimal coFe_(0.08)@NcS electrocatalyst displays a half-wave potential of 0.80 V for ORR and an overpotential of 283 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2)for OER in an alkaline *** intriguing bifunctional electrocatalytic activity and durability is attributed to the hierarchically porous structure and interfacial electron coupling of highly-active co_(7)Fe_(3)alloy and metallic co *** the coFe_(0.08)@NcS material is used as air-cathode catalyst of rechargeable liquid-state zinc-air battery(ZAB),the device shows a high peak power-density(157 mW·cm^(-2))and maintains a stable voltage gap over 150 h,outperforming those of the benchmark(Pt/c+RuO_(2))-based *** particular,the as-fabricated solid-state flexible ZAB delivers a reliable compatibility under different bending *** work provides a promising strategy to develop metal/alloy-based electrocatalysts for the application in renewable energy conversion technologies.

Microstructural evolution during the progressive transformation-induced plasticity effect in a Fe-0.1c-5Mnmedium manganese steel

The microstructural evolution of a cold-rolled and intercritical annealed medium-Mn steel(Fe-0.10c-5Mn)was investigated during uniaxial tensile ***-situ observations under scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,and X-ray diffraction analysis were conducted to characterize the progressive transformation-induced plasticity process and associated fracture initiation *** findings were discussed with the local strain measurements via digital image *** results indicated that Lüders band formation in the steel was limited to 1.5%strain,which was mainly due to the early-stage martensitic phase transformation of a very small amount of the less stable large-sized retained austenite(RA),which led to localized stress concentrations and strain hardening and further retardation of *** small-sized RA exhibited high stability and progressively transformed into martensite and contributed to a stably extended Portevin-Le chatelier *** volume fraction of RA gradually decreased from 26.8%to 8.2%prior to *** the late deformation stage,fracture initiation primarily occurred at the austenite/martensite and ferrite/martensite interfaces and the ferrite phase.

Plasmonic tandem heterojunctions enable high-efficiency charge transfer for broad spectrum photocatalytic hydrogen production

Rational engineering of semiconductor photocatalysts for efficient hydrogen production is of great significance but still challenging,primarily due to the limitations in charge transfer ***,a fascinating plasmonic tandem heterojunction with the hc-cdS/Mo2c@c heterostructure is aimfully prepared for effectively promoting the charge separation kinetics of the cdS photocatalyst via the synergistic strategy of phase junction,Schottky junction,and photothermal *** difference in atomic configuration between cubic-cdS （c-cdS） and hexagonal-cdS （h-cdS） leads to effective charge separation through a typical Ⅱ charge transfer mechanism,and plasmonic Schottky junction further extracts the electrons in the hc-cdS phase junction to realize gradient charge ***,the photothermal effect of Mo2c@c helps to expand the light absorption,accelerate charge transfer kinetics,and reduce the hydrogen evolution energy *** carbon layer provides a fast channel for charge transfer and protects the photocatalyst from *** a result,the optimized hc-cMc photocatalyst exhibits a significantly high photocatalytic H2production activity of 28.63 mmol/g/h and apparent quantum efficiency of 61.8%,surpassing most of the reported *** study provides a feasible strategy to enhance the charge transfer kinetics and photocatalytic activity of cdS by constructing plasmonic tandem heterogeneous junctions.

Dopamine plays a complex role in sleep-wake systems. The exact effect of dopamine on these behaviors may depend on the downstream target of dopamine pathways. Using selective chemogenetic stimulation in rats, we dissected midbrain dopaminergic nigrostriatal and mesolimbic pathways and their effects on sleep. chemogenetic stimulation of nigrostriatal pathways increased sleep and cortical EEG delta power, while chemogenetic stimulation of mesolimbic pathways decreased sleep and cortical EEG power. These results indicate that midbrain dopamine（DA） in the basal ganglia has distinct roles in sleep-wake regulation.

Ovarian endometrioma（OE）, also known as “chocolate cysts,” is a cystic mass that develops in the ovaries due to endometriosis and is a common gynecological condition characterized by the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, leading to symptoms such as dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, and infertility. However, the precise molecular and cellular mechanisms driving this pathophysiology remain largely unknown, posing challenges for diagnosis and treatment. Here, we employed integrated single-cell transcriptomic profiling of over 52,000 individual cells from endometrial tissues of OE patients and healthy donors and identified twelve major cell populations. We identified notable alterations in cell type-specific proportions and molecular signatures associated with OE. Notably, the activation of IGFBP5+macrophages with pro-inflammatory properties, NK cell exhaustion, and aberrant proliferation of IQcG+and KLF2+epithelium are key features and may be the potential mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of OE. collectively, our data contribute to a better understanding of OE at the single cell level and may pave the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Hybrid nucleic acid nanostructures partition architectural and functional roles between ribonucleic acid(RNA)joints and deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA)*** self-assemble from nucleic acid modules through synergistic stabilization of marginally stable base pairing interactions within circularly closed ***,we report the development of hybrid nanoshapes that include multiple different RNA modules such as internal loop and three-way junction(3WJ)*** iterative mix-and-match screening approach was used to identify suitable DNA connectors that furnished stable nanoshapes for combinations of different RNA *** resulting complex multicomponent RNA-DNA hybrid nanoshapes were characterized by atomic force microscopy(AFM)*** research provides proof of concept for modular design,assembly and screening of RNA-DNA hybrid nanoshapes as building blocks for complex extended nucleic acid materials with features at the sub-10 nm scale.

comparison of carbon-stock changes, eddycovariance carbon fluxes and model estimates in coastal Douglas-fir stands in British columbia

Background： The global network of eddy-covariance （Ec） flux-towers has improved the understanding of the terrestrial carbon （c） cycle, however, the network has a relatively limited spatial extent compared to forest inventory data and plots. Developing methods to use inventory-based and Ec flux measurements together with modeling approaches is necessary evaluate forest c dynamics across broad spatial extents. Methods： changes in c stock change （Ac） were computed based on repeated measurements of forest inventory plots and compared with separate measurements of cumulative net ecosystem productivity （~NEP） over four years （2003 - 2006） for Douglas-fir （Pseudotsuga menzies# var menziesil} dominated regeneration （HDF00）, juvenile （HDF88 and HDF90） and near-rotation （DF49） aged stands （6, 18, 20, 57 years old in 2006, respectively） in coastal British columbia. Ac was determined from forest inventory plot data alone, and in a hybrid approach using inventory data along with litter fall data and published decay equations to determine the change in detrital pools. These Ac-based estimates were then compared with Y_NEP measured at an eddy-covariance flux-tower （Ec-flux） and modelled by the carbon Budget Model - canadian Forest Sector （cBM-cFS3） using historic forest inventory and forest disturbance data. Footprint analysis was used with remote sensing, soils and topography data to evaluate how well the inventory plots represented the range of stand conditions within the area of the flux-tower footprint and to spatially scale the plot data to the area of the Ec-flux and model based estimates, Results： The closest convergence among methods was for the juvenile stands while the largest divergences were for the regenerating clearcut, followed by the near-rotation stand. At the regenerating clearcut, footprint weighting of cBM-cFS3 TNEP increased convergence with Ec flux Z_NEP, but not for Ac.
