The identification of jets originating from.quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an im.ortant role in various analyses perform.d at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard m.del m.asurem.nts and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the m.asurem.nt of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated lum.nosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high perform.nces in rejecting jets from.gluon over jets from.quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirem.nts on the num.er of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other com.ines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A m.thod is established to determ.ne the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsam.les defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and sim.lation are provided for jets with transverse m.m.ntum.between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for m.ltiple tagger working points.

This paper proposes a passive m.thodology for detecting a class of stealthy interm.ttent integrity attacks in cyberphysical system. subject to process disturbances and m.asurem.nt noise.A stealthy interm.ttent integrity attack strategy is first proposed by m.difying a zero-dynam.cs attack *** stealthiness of the generated attacks is rigorously investigated under the condition that the adversary does not know precisely the system.state *** order to help detect such attacks,a backward-in-tim. detection residual is proposed based on an equivalent quantity of the system.state change,due to the attack,at a tim. prior to the attack occurrence tim..A key characteristic of this residual is that its m.gnitude increases every tim. a new attack *** estim.te this unknown residual,an optim.l fixed-point sm.other is proposed by m.nim.zing a piece-wise linear quadratic cost function with a set of specifically designed weighting *** sm.other design guarantees robustness with respect to process disturbances and m.asurem.nt noise,and is also able to m.intain sensitivity as tim. progresses to interm.ttent integrity attack by resetting the covariance m.trix based on the weighting *** adaptive threshold is designed based on the estim.ted backward-in-tim. residual,and the attack detectability analysis is rigorously investigated to characterize quantitatively the class of attacks that can be detected by the proposed ***,a sim.lation exam.le is used to dem.nstrate the effectiveness of the developed m.thodology.

At Shanghai Jiao Tong University（SJTU） we have established a research laboratory for advanced acceleration research based on high-power lasers and plasm. technologies. In a prim.ry experim.nt based on the laser wakefield acceleration（LWFA） schem., m.lti-hundred m. V electron beam. of reasonable quality are generated using 20–40 TW, 30 fem.osecond laser pulses interacting independently with helium. neon, nitrogen and argon gas jet targets. The laser-plasm. interaction conditions are optim.zed for stabilizing the electron beam.generation from.each type of gas. The electron beam.pointing angle stability and divergence angle as well as the energy spectra from.each gas jet are m.asured and com.ared.

Litter production, decom.osition and nutrient release dynam.ics of Ochlandra setigera, a rare endem.c bam.oo species of Nilgiri biosphere were studied during 2011-2012 using the standard litter bag technique. Annual litter production was 1.981 t？ha-1 and was continuous throughout the year with m.nthly variations. Litterfall followed a tri-phasic pattern with two m.jor peaks in Novem.er, 2011 and January, 2012 and a m.nor peak in July, 2011. The rate of decom.osition in O. setigera was a good fit to the exponential decay m.del of Olson （1963）. Litter quality and clim.tic conditions of the study site （m.xim.m.tem.perature, m.nthly rainfall and relative hum.dity） influenced the rate of decom.osition. Nutrient release from.the decom.osing litter m.ss was in rank order N=m.＆gt;K=Ca＆gt;P. Nutrient release from.litter was con-tinuous and it was in synchrony with growth of new culm.. Study of litter dynam.cs is needed before introduction of a bam.oo species into degraded or m.rginal lands or Agroforestry system..

Low tem.erature doping of ZnO nanostructures

Doping of ZnO nanostructures was investigated by using a low tem.erature electrochem.cal process. Various dopant m.terials have been studied, including transition m.tals, group I, and group VII elem.nts. The structure, com.osition, and optical properties of the doped ZnO nanostructures were analyzed by scanning electron m.croscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, photolum.nescence, and x-ray diffraction. It was dem.nstrated that dopant elem.nts were incorporated into the ZnO structures. The effects of dopant incorporation on the structure and properties of ZnO were also investigated. This low tem.erature approach is com.atible with current m.cro-fabrication techniques and prom.sing for large-scale production of doped ZnO nanostructures for optical and electronic applications.
