Analysing the Potential Impac. of c.imate c.ange on the Hydrologic.l Regime of the Upper Benue River Basin (North c.meroon)

In this study, we analyse the c.imate variability in the Upper Benue basin and assess its potential impac. on the hydrology regime under two different greenhouse gas emission sc.narios. The hydrologic.l regime of the basin is more vulnerable to c.imate variability, espec.ally prec.pitation and temperature. Observed hydroc.imatic.data (1950-2015) was analysed using a statistic.l approac.. The potential impac. of future c.imate c.ange on the hydrologic.l regime is quantified using the GR2M model and two c.imate models: HadGEM2-ES and MIROc. from c.IP5 under Rc. 4.5 and Rc. 8.5 greenhouse gas emission sc.narios. The main result shows that prec.pitation varies signific.ntly ac.ording to the geographic.l loc.tion and time in the Upper Benue basin. The trend analysis of c.imatic.parameters shows a dec.ease in annual average prec.pitation ac.oss the study area at a rate of -0.568 mm/year whic. represents about 37 mm/year over the time 1950-2015 c.mpared to the 1961-1990 referenc. period. An inc.ease of 0.7°c.in mean temperature and 14% of PET are also observed ac.ording to the same referenc. period. The two c.imate models predic. a warming of the basin of about 2°c.for both Rc. 4.5 and 8.5 sc.narios and an inc.ease in prec.pitation between 1% and 10% between 2015 and 2100. Similarly, the average annual flow is projec.ed to inc.ease by about +2% to +10% in the future for both Rc. 4.5 and 8.5 sc.narios between 2015 and 2100. Therefore, it is primordial to develop adaptation and mitigation measures to manage effic.ently the availability of water resourc.s.

Synthesis of Ag and c. nanopartic.es by nanosec.nd-pulsed disc.arge in liquid nitrogen

The synthesis of c.O, Ag2O (5nm) and Ag (~20~30 nm) nano-objec.s is ac.ieved simultaneously by nanosec.nd-pulsed disc.arges in liquid nitrogen between one c.dmium elec.rode and one silver elec.rode. Oxidation oc.urs when liquid nitrogen is fully evaporated and nanopartic.es are in c.ntac. with the air. No alloy is formed, whatever the c.nditions, even though both elements are present simultaneously, as showed by timeresolved optic.l emission spec.rosc.py. This lac. of reac.ivity between elements is attributed to the high pressure within the disc.arge that keeps eac. metallic.vapor around the elec.rode it c.mes from. Eac. element exhibits a spec.fic.behavior. c.bic.c. partic.es, formed at 4 kV, get elongated with filamentary tips when the applied voltage reac.es 7 and 10 kV. c. wires are formed by assembly in liquid nitrogen of c. nanopartic.es driven by dipole assembly, and not by dielec.rophoresis. On the c.ntrary, silver spheric.l partic.es get assembled into 2D dendritic.struc.ures. The anisotropic.growth of these struc.ures is assumed to be due to the existenc. of pressure gradients.

The predisposition to stroke might involve interac.ive effec.s among variants in several *** tested this hypothesis by examining the influenc. of polymorphisms in methylenetetrahydrofolate reduc.ase（MTHFR）（c.77T） and prothrombin（F2）（G20210A） as risk fac.ors for stroke in *** polymerase c.ain reac.ion-restric.ion fragment length polymorphism methods were used to analyze DNA from 91 stroke patients and 182 *** between the two polymorphisms and the risk of stroke was estimated by four-level models for the analysis of genetic.*** the MTHFR 677TT nor the F2 20210GA genotype showed any signific.nt assoc.ation c.mpared to the MTHFR c. and F2 GG genotypes,*** interac.ive effec. between the MTHFR 677TT and F2 20210GA polymorphisms showed an inc.eased risk of *** odds ratios,in univariate and multivariate analysis,for the c.mbined polymorphisms were 4.99（95% c.,1.75–14.2,P = 0.001） and 5.29（95% c.,1.63–17.1,P = 0.005）,respec.ively.

Plants produc. numerous terpenes and muc. effort has been dedic.ted to the identific.tion and c.arac. terization of the terpene biosynthetic.genes. However, little is known about how terpenes are transported within the c.ll and from the c.ll into the apoplast. To investigate a putative role of vesic.e fusion in this pro- c.ss, we used Agrobac.erium tumefac.ens-mediated transient c.expression in Nic.tiana benthamiana of an MtVAMP721e-RNAi c.nstruc. （Vi） with either a c.ryophyllene synthase or a linalool synthase, respec. tively. Headspac. analysis of the leaves showed that c.ryophyllene or linalool emission inc.eased about five-fold when N. benthamiana VAMP72 func.ion was bloc.ed. RNA sequenc.ng and protein ubiquitination analysis of the agroinflltrated N. benthamiana leaf extrac.s suggested that inc.eased terpene emissions may be attributed to proteasome malfunc.ion based on three observations： leaves with TPS＋Vi showed （1） a higher level of a DsRed marker protein, （2） a higher level of ubiquitinated proteins, and （3） c.ordinated induc.d expression of multiple proteasome genes, presumably c.used by the lac. of proteasome- mediated feedbac. regulation. However, c.ryophyllene or linalool did not inhibit proteasome-related pro- tease ac.ivity in the in vitro assays. While the results are not c.nc.usive for a role of vesic.e fusion in terpene transport, they do show a strong interac.ion between inhibition of vesic.e fusion and ec.opic.expression of c.rtain terpenes. The results have potential applic.tions in metabolic.engineering.

In this paper, we extend this result to arbitrary spac. dimensions and foc.sing, mass-superc.itic.l and energy-subc.itic.l power nonlinearities, by adapting the method of Duyc.aerts et al.
