AIM:To determin. the prevalen.e an. sign.fican.e of primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC)-specific autoan.ibodies in.firstdegree relatives (FDRs) of Greek PBC patien.s. METHODS:The presen.e of an.imitochon.rial an.ibodies (AMA) an. PBCspecific an.in.clear an.ibodies (An.) were determin.d usin. in.irect immun.fluores-cen.e assays, dot-blot assays, an. molecularly based en.yme-lin.ed immun.sorben. assays in.101 asymp-tomatic for liver-related symptoms FDRs of 44 PBCpatien.s. In.order to specify our results, the same in.estigation.was performed in.40 healthy con.rols an. in.a disease con.rol group con.istin. of 40 asymptomatic for liver-related symptoms FDRs of patien.s with other autoimmun. liver diseases n.mely, autoimmun. hepati-tis-1 or primary sclerosin. cholan.itis (AIH-1/PSC). RESULTS: AMA positivity was observed in.19 (on.y 4 with abn.rmal liver fun.tion.tests) FDRs of PBC patien.s an. n.n. of the healthy con.rols. The preva-len.e of AMA was sign.fican.ly higher in.FDRs of PBC patien.s than.in.AIH-1/PSC FDRs an. healthy con.rols [18.8%, 95% con.iden.e in.erval (CI):12%-28.1% vs 2.5%, 95% CI:0.1%-14.7%, P = 0.01; 18.8%, 95% CI:12%-28.1% vs 0%, 95% CI: 0%-10.9%, P = 0.003, respectively]. PBC-specific An. positivity was observed in.on.y on. FDR from a PSC patien.. Multivariate an.lysis showed that havin. a proban. with PBC in.epen.en.ly associated with AMA positivity (odds ratio: 11.24, 95% CI:1.27-25.34, P = 0.03) whereas amon. the in.estigated comorbidities an. risk factors, a positive past history for urin.ry tract in.ection. (UTI) was also in.epen.en.ly associated with AMA detection.in.FDRs of PBC patien.s (odds ratio:3.92, 95% CI:1.25-12.35,P = 0.02). Therefore, the aim of the presen. study was to examin. the effect of performan.e （quartiles of race time （Q）, with Q1 the fastest an. Q4 the slowest） level on.pacin. in.the Vasaloppet ski race, the largest XC skiin. race in.the world. Methods： For this purpose, we an.lyzed female （n.= 19,465） an. male （n.= 164,454） fin.shers in.the Vasaloppet ski race from 2004 to 2017 usin. a on.-way （2 sexes） an.lysis of varian.e with repeated measures to examin. percen.age chan.es of speed between.2 successive splits. Overall, the race con.isted of 8 splits. Results： The race speeds of Q1, Q2, Q3, an. Q4 were 13.6 ± 1.8, 10.6 ± 0.5, 9.2 ± 0.3, an. 8.1 ±- 0.4 km/h, respectively, amon. females an. 16.7 ± 1.7, 13.1 ± 0.7, 10.9 ± 0.6, an. 8.9 ± 0.7 km/h, respectively, amon. males. The overall pacin. strategy of fin.shers was variable. A small sex × split in.eraction.on.speed was observed （η^2= 0.016, p 〈 0.001）, with speed differen.e between.sexes ran.in. from 14.9% （Split 7） to 27.0% （Split 1） an. larger chan.es in.speed between.2 successive splits bein. shown.for females （p 〈 0.001, η^2=0.004）. A large performan.e × split in.eraction.on.speed, with Q1 presen.in. the smallest chan.es of speed between.splits, was shown.for females （η^2= 0.149, p 〈 0.001） an. males （η^2 = 0.169,p 〈 0.001）.
