Geology,Fluid Inclusion and Isotopic Study of the Neoproterozoic Suoi Thau Copper Deposit,Northwest Vietnam

The Sin Quyen-Lung Po district is an important Cu metallogenic province in Vietnam, but there are few temporal and genetic constraints on deposits from this belt. Suoi Thau is one of the representative Cu deposits associated with granitic intrusion. The deposit consists of ore bodies in altered granite or along the contact zone between granite and Proterozoic meta-sedimentary rocks. The Cu-bearing intrusion is sub-alkaline I-type granite. It has a zircon U-Pb age of ~776 Ma, and has subduction-related geochemical signatures. Geochemical analysis reveals that the intrusion may be formed by melting of mafic lower crust in a subduction regime. Three stages of alteration and mineralization are identified in the Suoi Thau deposit, i.e., potassic alteration; silicification and Cu mineralization; and phyllic alteration. Two-phase aqueous fluid inclusions in quartz from silicification stage show wide ranges of homogenization temperatures （140-383℃） and salinities （4.18wt%- 19.13wt%）. The high temperature and high salinity natures of some inclusions are consistent with a magmatic derivation of the fluids, which is also supported by the H-O-S isotopes. Fluids in quartz have JD values of-41.9‰ to -68.8%. The fluids in isotopic equilibrium with quartz have j180 values ranging from 7.9‰ to 9.2%. These values are just plotted in the compositional field of magmatie- hydrothermal fluids in the ~Dwater versus jlSOwater diagram. Sulfide minerals have relatively uniform j34S values from 1.84%o to 3.57%0, which is supportive of a magmatic derivation of sulfur. The fluid inclusions with relatively low temperatures and salinities most probably represent variably cooled magmatic-hydrothermal fluids. The magmatic derivation of fluids and the close spatial relationship between Cu ore bodies and intrusion suggest that the Cu mineralization most likely had a genetic association with granite. Adaptive control for an uncertain robotic manipulator with input saturations

In this paper, we address the control problem of an uncertain robotic manipulator with input saturations, unknown input scalings and disturbances. For this purpose, a model reference adaptive control like （MRAC-like） is used to handle the input saturations. The model reference is input to state stable （ISS） and driven by the errors between the required control signals and input saturations. The uncertain parameters are dealt with by using linear-in-the-parameters property of robotic dynamics, while unknown input scalings and disturbances are handled by non-regressor based approach. Our design ensures that all the signals in the closed-loop system are bounded, and the tracking error converges to the compact set which depends on the predetermined bounds of the control inputs. Simulation on a planar elbow manipulator with two joints is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

A Study on Modelling Surface Finish in Electrical Discharge Machining Tablet Shape Punches Using Response Surface Methodology

This paper introduces a study on modelling surface finish in EDM （Electrical Discharge Machining） of tablet shape punches when using copper as electrode material. In this study, 27 experiments were performed based on BBD （Box-Behnken Design） and the work-piece material was 9CrSi steel. The input process parameters were the current, the pulse on time, the pulse off time and the voltage. The effects of the input parameters on the surface finish were evaluated by analysing variance. Besides, from the results of the experiments, a regression equation for determining the surface roughness is introduced. Also, the optimum input parameter values were found in order to get the minimum surface roughness.

Dietary zinc and metallothionein on small intestinal disaccharidases activity in mice

AIM: To examine the effect of increasing dietary zinc (Zn) intake and the lack of metallothionein (MT) expression on activity of small intestinal disaccharidases. METHODS: MT-Ⅰ and Ⅱ knockout (MT-/-) and wild-type (MT+/+) female mice at 3.5 wk of age were randomly fed with a diet containing 2 (2 Zn), 15 (15 Zn) or 50 (50 Zn) mg Zn/kg (n = 8/group/genotype) for 5 wk. Small intestinal segments (duodenum, jejunum and ileum) were collected and either fixed in 10% formalin for histological analysis or snap frozen in liquid nitrogen for sucrase, lactase and maltase activity ***: Plasma Zn was significantly (P < 0.05) lower (33%) in MT-/- compared with MT+/+ mice fed the 2 Zn diet. Villus height and crypt depth were increased by approximately 15% in MT+/+ mice compared with MT-/- mice. Duodenal disaccharidase activities were significantly higher in MT+/+ compared with MT-/- mice particularly in those fed the 2 Zn diet. For the 50 Zn diet, jejunal sucrase and lactase activities were significantly higher in MT-/- (13 313 ± 2314; 4107 ± 364 μmol glucose/well/min/g tissue, respectively) compared with MT+/+ mice (7054 ± 608; 1818 ± 174). Similarly, ileal lactase activities were higher in MT-/- (1480 ± 192) compared with MT+/+ (629 ± 353) mice particularly those fed the 2 Zn diet. CONCLUSION: Increasing dietary Zn has little effect on disaccharidases activity in MT wild-type mice. The presence of MT may enhance morphological and functional development of the gut.

In this paper,we propose a Two-Way Cognitive Relay Network(TWCRN)where the secondary users operate on an underlay mode to access the licensed *** the proposed protocols,two secondary sources transmit their data to a relay in the first time slot,and then the relay would forward the received information to both sources in the remaining ***,the relay is self-powered by harvesting energy from ambient Radio Frequency(RF)signals,using the Time Switching(TS)and the Power Switching(PS)*** paper concentrates on eval-uating the performance of the secondary networks under the impact of hardware impairments and co-channel interference from the primary *** particular,based on the secondary transmitters'constraint power,we derive the closed-form expressions of the outage probability and the throughput over Rayleigh fading channels in two cases:TS and *** also investigate the energy efficiency issue and the locally optimal position of the relay to maximize the system throughput,which provides much information to install the relay ***,our derivations are verified by Monte Carlo simulation.

Novel Soft ComputingModel for Predicting Blast-Induced Ground Vibration in Open-Pit Mines Based on the Bagging and Sibling of Extra Trees Models

This study considered and predicted blast-induced ground vibration(PPV)in open-pit mines using bagging and sibling techniques under the rigorous combination of machine learning ***,four machine learning algorithms,including support vector regression(SVR),extra trees(ExTree),K-nearest neighbors(KNN),and decision tree regression(DTR),were used as the base models for the purposes of combination and PPV initial *** bagging regressor(BA)was then applied to combine these base models with the efforts of variance reduction,overfitting elimination,and generating more robust predictive models,abbreviated as BA-ExTree,BAKNN,BA-SVR,and *** is emphasized that the ExTree model has not been considered for predicting blastinduced ground vibration before,and the bagging of ExTree is an innovation aiming to improve the accuracy of the inherently ExTree model,as *** addition,two empirical models(i.e.,USBM and Ambraseys)were also treated and compared with the bagging models to gain a comprehensive *** this aim,we collected 300 blasting events with different parameters at the Sin Quyen copper mine(Vietnam),and the produced PPV values were also *** were then compiled as the dataset to develop the PPV predictive *** results revealed that the bagging models provided better performance than the empirical models,except for the BA-DTR *** those,the BA-ExTree is the best model with the highest accuracy(i.e.,88.8%).Whereas,the empirical models only provided the accuracy from 73.6%–76%.The details of comparisons and assessments were also presented in this study.

Assessment of ship manoeuvrability by using a coupling between a nonlinear transient manoeuvring model and mathematical programming techniques

In this paper, a numerical method based on a coupling between a mathematical model of nonlinear transient ship manoeuvring motion in the horizontal plane and Mathematical Programming （MP） techniques is proposed. The aim of the proposed procedure is an efficient estimation of optimal ship hydrodynamic parameters in a dynamic model at the early design stage. The proposed procedure has been validated through turning circle and zigzag manoeuvres based on experimental data of sea trials of the 190 000- dwt oil tanker. Comparisons between experimental and computed data show a good agreement of overall tendency in manoeuvring traiectories.

Numerical investigation of the influence of casting techniques on fiber orientation distribution in ECC

Engineered cementitious composites(ECC),also known as bendable concrete,were developed based on engineering the interactions between fibers and cementitious *** orientation of fibers,in this regard,is one of the major factors influencing the ductile behavior of this *** this study,fiber orientation distributions in ECC beams influenced by different casting techniques are evaluated via numerical modeling of the casting *** casting directions and two casting positions of the funnel outlet with beam specimens are modeled using a particle-based smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)*** this SPH approach,fresh mortar and fiber are discretized by separated mortar and fiber particles,which smoothly interact in the computational domain of *** movement of fiber particles is monitored during the casting ***,the fiber orientations at different sections of specimens are determined after the fresh ECC stops flowing in the *** simulation results show a significant impact of the casting direction on fiber orientation distributions along the longitudinal wall of beams,which eventually influence the flexural strength of *** addition,casting positions show negligible influences on the orientation distribution of fibers in the short ECC beam,except under the pouring position.
