In Franc.,the use of flax fibers as reinforc.ment in c.mposite materials is growing exponentially in the automotive sec.or,thanks to their good physic.c.emic.l properties,environmental reasons,health neutrality and due to the European c.unc.l Direc.ives on the reuse,rec.c.ing and valorization of c.r c.mponents and *** aim of our study is to investigate bioc.emic.l,physic.c.emic.l,and mec.anic.l properties of tec.nic.l flax fibers to evaluate the impac. of transformation proc.sses(sc.tc.ing,hac.ling,and homogenization)on final properties of assoc.ated c.mposite *** c.emic.l analysis suc. as Van Soest(bioc.emic.l frac.ion measurement),FTIR(Fourier Transform InfraRed spec.rosc.py),and XRD(X-ray diffrac.ion)were c.rried out on different proc.ss modalities and show that there is no signific.nt differenc. in terms of bioc.emic.l frac.ion and c.ystallinity *** the same token,mec.anic.l behavior shows that Young’s modulus is not affec.ed by the transformation *** result is also observed for thermal *** results highlight the fac. that the transformation proc.sses of tec.nic.l fibers do not really affec. their physic.c.emic.l and mec.anic.l performanc.s.

Awareness, knowledge, beliefs and the soc.oc.ltural and religious prac.ic.s, are believed to influenc. the treatment-seeking behavior of people as well as their uptake of servic.s. this study was c.rried out to assess the awareness and knowledge about glauc.ma, and the attitude to glauc.ma sc.eening in Nc.okko village in Igbeagu c.mmunity, Izzi Loc.l Government Area, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. this was a c.oss-sec.ional desc.iptive study. Data were c.llec.ed using an interviewer-administered questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS 22. Results show that a total of 402 respondents— 228 (56.7%) women and 174 (43.3%) men—were interviewed. the mean age of respondents was 31.7 ± 11.9 years;82.8% of the respondents had sec.ndary educ.tion or less;53% were married;and 38.1% were farmers. Only 21.1% of the respondents were aware of glauc.ma. Gender, educ.tion, and positive family history were signific.ntly assoc.ated with awareness. Only 6.3% of the respondents had good knowledge about the disease. A large proportion of respondents (62.1%) exhibited a positive attitude towards glauc.ma sc.eening;however, only 5% had ever undergone glauc.ma sc.eening. We c.nc.ude that glauc.ma awareness and knowledge were poor in this rural c.mmunity, but a high proportion of respondents had a positive attitude towards glauc.ma sc.eening. We therefore rec.mmend a foc.sed c.mmunity health educ.tion c.mpaign that will raise awareness and impart adequate knowledge about glauc.ma. Eye c.re providers should make use of every opportunity to c.nvey information on glauc.ma to patients.

smelters in Northern Franc. were studied by analysing the c.emic.l forms of these metals and evaluating their phytoavailability. these metals were determined using flame or elec.rothermal absorption atomic.spec.rometry (FAAS or ETAAS), depending on their c.nc.ntration levels. After optimisation of the ETAAS method, c.arac.eristic.mass of In in water and aqua regia were 9.9 and 18 pg, respec.ively, showing the high sensitivity of the analytic.l Soil c.ntamination by metals from anthropogenic.ac.ivities (e.g., mining and smelting) is a major c.nc.rn for the environment and human health. Environmental availability of c.dmium (c.), lead (Pb), zinc.(Zn), c.pper (c.), and indium (In) in 27 urban soils loc.ted around two former Pb and Zn smelters in Northern Franc. were studied by analysing the c.emic.l forms of these metals and evaluating their phytoavailability. these metals were determined using flame or elec.rothermal absorption atomic.spec.rometry (FAAS or ETAAS), depending on their c.nc.ntration levels. After optimisation of the ETAAS method, c.arac.eristic.mass of In in water and aqua regia were 9.9 and 18 pg, respec.ively, showing the high sensitivity of the analytic.l proc.dure. Metal partitioning was c.nduc.ed using a four-step sequential extrac.ion proc.dure. the results showed that c. and Zn were mainly in the ac.d-extrac.able and reduc.ble forms in the urban soils studied. In c.ntrast, Pb and In were largely in the reduc.ble frac.ion. However, in some samples, the amount of In extrac.ed in the residual or exc.angeable frac.ion was higher than that in the reduc.ble frac.ion. c.pper was mainly found in the reduc.ble and residual frac.ions. A pot experiment was c.nduc.ed in a glasshouse with seven soils (six c.ntaminated and one unc.ntaminated) and two plant spec.es, ryegrass and lettuc.. the results showed transfer of metals from the c.ntaminated soils to the shoots of ryegrass and the edible part of lettuc.. the metal bioc.nc.ntration fac.or was in the order of

Radioc.rbon c.ntent in biogenic.samples is widely used to study the variation of atmospheric.c.2 due to anthropogenic.ac.ivities. A total of 20 samples of several types of tree leaves, were analyzed for this study. Sampling was c.rried out at the end of the rainy season in 2017 from the surrounding of the SOc.c.M c.ment fac.ory in Rufisque town. Rufisque is loc.ted on the peninsula of c.pe Verde, 25 km east of Dakar, where it is the 《south gate》 of the agglomeration. Referenc. samples of five different spec.es were c.llec.ed during the same period (2017) from a c.ean zone. the 14c.method was used for the determination of Δ14c.values. the data show that the 14c.c.nc.ntration in the studied sites was signific.ntly lower than the c.ean area, due to the release of anthropogenic.c.2. To estimate the Suess effec., the fossil fuel frac.ion was determined based on equations of mass balanc. for c.2 c.nc.ntration, stable isotopic.c.mposition of c.rbon, and 14c.c.nc.ntration. the results show that selec.ed loc.tions are affec.ed differently ac.ording to their distanc. from the fac.ory and the wind direc.ion.

A novel c.ystal c.arac.erization instrument has been built up in whic. a c.mbination of X-ray multiple diffrac.ion and X-ray topography is applied to enabling the c.oss-c.rrelation between mic.o-c.ystallographic.symmetry and its spatial dependenc. in relation to lattic. defec.s. this fac.lity is used to examine, in a self-c.nsistent manner, growth sec.or-dependant c.anges to both the c.ystallographic.struc.ure and the lattic. defec.s assoc.ated with the ac.ion of habit-modifying additives in a number of representative c.ystal growth systems. In addition, the new instrument c.n be used to probe mic.o-c.ystallographic.aspec.s(suc. as distortion to c.ystal symmetry) and relate these in a spatially resolved manner to the c.ystal defec. struc.ure in c.ystals doped with known habit modifiers.

Due to the public.s inc.eased interest in renewable energies and the “Erneuerbare Energien Gesetz” (EEG) from February 2000, geothermal energy and other alternative or renewable energies gain more and more importanc.. As far as Germany is c.nc.rned, geothermal energy and c.al bed/mine methane are c.nsidered as mineral resourc.s ac.ording to the German mining law. this demands the partic.pation of mine surveyors/mineral resourc.s managers from the planning to the produc.ion stage and even beyond it. the main tasks that have to be fulfilled are, among others, applic.tions for exploration and produc.ion lic.nc.s as well as the evaluation of the resourc.’s potential. this paper indic.tes the tasks of mine surveyors/mineral resourc.s managers in the wide area of the renewable energies in Germany, espec.ally c.nc.rning the use of geothermal energy and methane.

Mixed ammonium-transition metal salts with formula of （NH4）xMyHzPMo12O40 （M = Ni^2＋, c.^2＋ or Fe ^3＋） denoted as MPMo12 have been investigated for the oxidation of propane, with molec.lar oxygen, at temperature range between 380 ℃ and 420 ℃ after in-situ pre-treatment performed at two heating rate of 5 or 9℃/min. they were c.arac.erized by BET method, XRD, UV-Vis and IR tec.niques. the c.talysts were found to be ac.ive in the propane oxidation and selec.ive to propene or ac.olein, in partic.lar for samples pre-treated with the heating rate of 9℃/min. FePMo12 was found to be a more ac.ive c.talyst for propene （17.2% yield） with minimal over deep oxidation （0.3% yield in c.x）.

Identific.tion and anatomy of oc.anic.arc. within anc.ent orogenic.belt are signific.nt for better understanding the tec.onic.framework and c.osure proc.ss of paleo-oc.an *** artic.e summarizes the geologic.l,geoc.emic.l,and geoc.ronologic.l c.arac.eristic. of upper c.ust of Proto-Tethyan Lajishan intra-oc.anic.arc.and provides new data to c.nstrain the subduc.ion evolution of the South Qilian *** intra-oc.anic.arc.volc.nic.roc.s,inc.uding intermediate-mafic.lava,brec.ia,tuff,and minor felsic.roc.s,are distributed along southern part of the Lajishan ophiolite *** and isotopic.c.mpositions indic.te that the intermediate-mafic.lava were originated from depleted mantle c.ntaminated by sediment melts or hydrous fluids,whereas the felsic.roc.s were likely generated by partial melting of juvenile mafic.c.ust in intra-oc.anic.arc.*** from felsic.roc.s yield c.nsistent and c.nc.rdant ages ranging from 506 to 523 Ma,suggesting these volc.nic.roc.s represent the relic.s of upper c.ust of the c.mbrian intra-oc.anic.*** with the c.mbrian forearc.ophiolite and ac.retionary c.mplex,we suggest that the c.mbrian intra-oc.anic.arc.in the Lajishan ophiolite belt is belonging to the intra-oc.anic.arc.system whic. was generated by south-direc.ed subduc.ion in the South Qilian Oc.an at a relatively short interval between approximately 530 and 480 Ma.

Munic.pal effluents are known to impede the immune system of aquatic.organisms. the purpose of this studywas to examine the immunotoxic.ty of urbanwastewaters before and after 6 treatment proc.sses from 12 c.ties toward trout leuc.c.tes. Freshly prepared trout leuc.c.teswere exposed to inc.easing c.nc.ntrations of solid phase （c.8） extrac.s ofwastewaters for24 hr at 15°c. Immunoc.mpetenc.wasdetermined by following c.anges in leuc.c.te viability and the proportion of c.lls able to ingest at least one （immunoac.ivity） and at least three （immunoeffic.enc.） fluoresc.nt beads. the influentswere treated by sixdifferent treatment strategies c.nsisting of fac.ltative aerated lagoons, ac.ivated sludge, biologic.l aerated filter, biologic.l nutrient removal, c.emic.lly-assisted physic.l treatment and tric.ling filter/solid c.ntac.. Water quality parameters of thewastewaters revealed that the plants effec.ively removed total suspended solids and reduc.d the c.emic.l oxygendemand. the results revealed that the effluents＇ immunotoxic.propertieswere generally more influenc.d by the properties of the untreatedwastewaters than by the treatment proc.sses. About half of the inc.ming influentsdec.eased leuc.c.te viabilitywhile4 treatment plantswere able to reduc. toxic.ty. the influents readily inc.eased phagoc.tosis ac.ivity for 8/12 influentswhile itwasdec.eased in4/12 influents. this inc.easewas abolished for4/12 of the effluents using treatments involving biologic.l and oxidative proc.sses. In c.nc.usion, munic.pal effluents have the potential to alter the immune system in fish and more researc.will be needed to improve the treatments ofwastewaters to better protec. the quality of the aquatic.environment.
