Despite frequent use of digital devices in everyday life,cost-effective measurement of public health issues in urban areas is still *** study was,therefore,planned to extract land-use types using object-based and spatial metric approaches to explore the dengue incidence in relation to the surrounding environment in near real-time using Google and Advanced Land Observation Satellite *** characterised image showed useful classification of an urban areawith 77%accuracy and 0.68 *** analysis on public health data indicated that most of the dengue cases were found in densely populated areas surrounded by dense *** living in independent houses having sparsely vegetated surroundings were found to be less *** incidence was more prevalent in people of 5-24 years of age(67%);while in terms of occupation,mostly students,the unemployed,labourers and farmers(88%)were *** general,males were affected slightly more(10%)than *** analyses indicated that most of the dengue cases were around institutions(40%),religious places(18%)and markets(15%).Thus,usage of Digital Earth scalable tools for monitoring health issues would open new ways for maintaining a healthy and sustainable society in the years ahead.

The number of elderly patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) has been *** of elderly HCC patients are a higher proportion of females,a lower rate of positive hepatitis B surface antigen,and a higher rate of positive hepatitis C *** patient selection is vital for performing hepatectomy safely in elderly HCC *** strategy should be decided by not only considering tumor stage and hepatic functional reserve,but also physiological status,including comorbid *** assessment tools have been applied to predict the risk of *** reported mortality and morbidity rates after hepatectomy in elderly HCC patients ranged from 0% to 42.9% and from 9% to 51%,*** survival rate after hepatectomy in elderly HCC patients at 5 years ranged from 26% to 75.9%.Both short-term and long-term results after hepatectomy for strictly selected elderly HCC patients are almost the same as those for younger ***,considering physiological characteristics and the high prevalence of comorbid disease in elderly patients,it is important to assess patients more meticulously and to select them strictly if scheduled to undergo major hepatectomy.

How Do Investors Evaluate Business Continuity Management （BCM） Disclosures in Emergency Situations？ Evidence From the Great East Japan Earthquake

This study examines economic effects of business continuity management （BCM） disclosures through analyzing changes in shareholder returns in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake. The author examined differences in the recovery of share price between disclosing and non-disclosing corporations. The results show that the cumulative average abnormal returns （CAARs） of disclosing corporations recovered faster than non-disclosing corporations. Then, the author examined differences in the recovery of share price between developing and non-developing corporations. The results show that there is no statistically significant difference in the recovery of share price between developing and non-developing corporations. Finally, the author examined the differences of BCM between disclosing and non-disclosing corporations. The results suggest that BCM or business continuity plan （BCP） disclosing corporations have a broader coverage of the BCP, more appropriate procedures for responding to emergency situations, more effective training of the BCM, and more mature BCM systems than non-disclosing ones.

Purcell effect of GaAs quantum dots by photonic crystal microcavities

We fabricate photonic crystal slab microcavities embedded with GaAs quantum dots by electron beam lithography and droplet epitaxy. The Purcell effect of exciton emission of the quantum dots is confirmed by the micro photoluminescence measurement. The resonance wavelengths, widths, and polarization are consistent with numerical simulation results.

本文利用约100年前所绘制的丝绸之路古地图以及谷歌地球等数据,提出核对丝绸之路探险队报告与现代考古调查报告中所记录遗迹的方法。首先,在遗址的核对当中,以"名称比对""场所比对"等方法,收集基于类似性的证据,根据此证据判断了复数遗迹的同一性。其次,在吐鲁番盆地进行了遗址的全面核对,成功地找到了大部分的所在不明遗址。再次,讨论遗址概念中含有范围以及名称的任意性,因此遗址之间的关系中除了同一性以外还需要表达包含关系和重复关系等。最后,介绍存储遗址关系信息的丝绸之路遗址数据库的设想。

Cyclic-PA was first isolated from myxoamoebae of a true slime mold, Physarum polycephalum, and designated as PHYLPA or cLPA. The biological effects of cyclic-PA include (i) the antimitogenic regulation of the cell cycle, (ii) regulation of Ca2+ release, (iii) regulation of actin rearrangement, (iv) inhibition of tumor cell invasiveness, and (v) the inhibition of apoptosis.

Background: No method for the clinical diagnosis of MM2-type sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (sCJD) has been established exce pt for pathologic examination. Objective: To identify a reliable marker for the clinical diagnosis of MM2-type ***: CSF, EEG, and neuro imaging studie s were performed in eight patients with MM2-type sCJD confirmed by neuropatholo gic,genetic, and western blot analyses. Results: The eight cases were pathologic ally classified into the cortical (n= 2), thalamic (n = 5), and combined (cortic othalamic) (n =1) forms. The cortical form was characterized by late-onset,slow ly progressive dementia, cortical hyperintensity signals on diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) of brain, and elevated levels of CSF 14-3-3 protein. The thalami c form showed various neurologic manifestations including dementia, ataxia, and pyramidal and extrapyramidal signs with onset at various ages and relatively lon g disease duration. Characteristic EEG and MRI abnormalities were almost absent. However, all four patients examined with cerebral blood flow (CBF) study using SPECT showed reduction of the CBF in the thalamus as well as the cerebral cortex . The combined form had features of both the cortical and the thalamic forms, sh owing cortical hyperintensity signals on DWI and hypometabolism of the thalamus on [18F]2-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose PET. Conclusion: For the clinical diagno sis of MM2-type sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease,cortical hyperintensity sig nals on diffusion-weighted MRI are useful for the cortical form and thalamic hy poperfusion or hypometabolism on cerebral blood flow SPECT or [18F]2-fluoro-2 -deoxy-D-glucose PET for the thalamic form.
