Alkali Treatment of Commercial Silicoaluminophosphate Molecular Sieves (SAPO<sub>-</sub>34) Enhances the Water Adsorption and Desorption Properties

Commercial silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieves (SAPO-34) received alkali treatment with either NaOH (0.2, 0.01, 0.005, or 0.001 M) or NH4OH (0.005 M). Treatment with NaOH (0.005 M) increased the water adsorption initial rate of SAPO-34 by 1.4-fold. The alkali treatment introduced Na+ adsorption sites into the SAPO-34. The desorption ratio (adsorption at 30°C and desorption at 100°C) was 88.2% higher than the original rate (84.3%). On the other hand, after alkali treatment of SAPO-34 using NH4OH (0.005 M), calcination resulted in the highest desorption ratio at 91.3%. When combined with calcination, alkali treatment with NH4OH introduced H+adsorption sites into SAPO-34, H+ adsorption sites feature low levels of interaction with water, which enhanced the desorption ratio, but decreased the initial adsorption rate. These results indicate that treating commercial SAPO-34 with 0.005 M NaOH enhances both the adsorption and desorption behaviors.

降低排气污染是柴油机一项迫切而重要的任务。每缸4气门的布置方案是实现该目标而采取的一项先进技术。阐述了使用稳态气流装置。通过试验方法2气门和4气门缸盖的缸内空气运动的形成过程。试验时,分别使用示踪激光片技术(TLS)和激光多普勒测速仪(LDV)进行显像和测速。采用示踪激光片技术和激光多普勒测速仪进行显像并测量了2气门和4气门缸盖的缸内空气运动。2气门气缸盖主要依靠螺旋气道来的强旋涡产生涡流运动。当涡流向下流过气缸时,同时由气缸中心向气缸周边扩散。与此相反,4气门气缸盖则主要依靠切向和螺旋气道来的、沿气缸周边处的强气流产生涡流运动。随着气流的继续流动,外部气流不断影响内部气流。当诸如2气门与4气门缸盖间的气流图像变化很大时,最好采用脉动式涡流计而不是叶片式涡流计来测量总涡流强度。

Here we report the case of a 34-year-old man who underwent endoscopic removal of a tablespoon from the stomach that was lodged within the *** required the use of a two-channel upper endoscope and polypectomy *** the doublesnare technique, the spoon was grasped at the proximal and distal parts of the *** doublesnare was first pulled unsuccessfully and then pulled with simultaneous manual abdominal compression of the bulbus from the body *** was gently applied towards the *** a result, the head of the spoon prolapsed from the bulbus, and was easily retracted from the stomach without any *** cases of foreign body lodging within the duodenum, the manual abdominal compression technique may help clinicians pull out the object and avoid *** usefulness of manual compression is dependent on the foreign body's sharpness and the location.

AIM: To investigate the genes regulated in mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) and diffuse-type gastric cancer(GC),gene expression was analyzed. METHODS: Gene expression of MSCs and diffuse-type GC cells were analyzed by microarray. Genes related to stem cells, cancer and the epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT) were extracted from human gene lists using Gene Ontology and reference information. Gene panels were generated, and messenger RNA gene expression in MSCs and diffuse-type GC cells was analyzed. Cluster analysis was performed using the NCSS ***: The gene expression of regulator of G-protein signaling 1(RGS1) was up-regulated in diffuse-type GC cells compared with MSCs. A panel of stem-cell related genes and genes involved in cancer or the EMT were examined. Stem-cell related genes, such as growth arrest-specific 6, musashi RNA-binding protein 2 and hairy and enhancer of split 1(Drosophila), NOTCH family genes and Notch ligands, such as delta-like 1(Drosophila) and Jagged 2, were ***: Expression of RGS1 is up-regulated, and genes related to stem cells and NOTCH signaling are altered in diffuse-type GC compared with MSCs.

Proposal of ZigBee Systems for the Provision of Location Information and Transmission of Sensor Data in Medical Welfare

This paper proposes a scheme to obtain location and vital health information using ZigBee system. ZigBee systems are wireless communication systems defined by IEEE 802.154. In the proposed scheme, location information is obtained using the Link Quality Indication (LQI) function of a ZigBee system, which represents the received signal strength. And, the vital health information are collected from the electrocardiogram monitor, the pulse and blood pressure device, attached to the patient’s body. This information is then transmitted to an outside network by ZigBee systems. In this way, vital health information can be transmitted as ZigBee sensor data while patients with the ZigBee terminal are moving. In the experiments using actual ZigBee devices, the proposed scheme could obtain accurate location and vital health information from the sensor data. Moreover, to achieve high reliability in the actual service, the collected amount of sensor data was confirmed by the theoretic calculation, when a ZigBee terminal passed through ZigBee routers. These results indicate that the proposed scheme can be used to detect the accurate location of the ZigBee terminal. And over 99% of the sensor data on vital health information was obtained when the ZigBee terminal passed through approximately four ZigBee routers.

Er was doped into porous Si by immersing the porous Si sample in a saturated ErCl3,ethanol solution. Sharp and intense 1.54 μm photoluminescence caused by intra-4f-shefl transitions in Er3+ ions was observed up to room temperature. It is shown that the immersing process is valid to dope Er in high concentration in porous Si. Time resolved study of the Er-doped porous Si revealed that the doped Er3+ ions are excited by energy transfer from photo-generated electron-hole pairs in the host. The energy back transfer process from the excited 4f electrons in the Er3+ion to the host is not a dominant factor to quench the Er-related emission in porous Si. Ourresults are well explained by a proposed model in which an intermediate state was introduced.

＜正＞ In tropical regions such as Indonesia, shallot （Allium cepa L. Aggregatum group） is an important vegetable for preparating dishes, and it also has a potential health benefit. Extensive studies are necessary to improve the quality and productivity of shallot. Those include studies on tissue culture. Flower culture needs a simpler and easier protocol compared with other methods in tissue culture. We tried to apply flower culture to the breeding of shallot.

An experimental technique has been developed for measuring and visualizing strain distribution on facial skin. A stereovision technique based on digital image correlation is employed for obtaining the displacement distribution on the human face. Time-variation of the movement of the facial skin surface is obtained from consecutive images obtained using a pair of high-speed cameras. The strains on the facial skin surface are then obtained from the measured displacements. The performance of the developed system is demonstrated by applying it to the measurement of the strain on facial skin during the production of sound. Results show that the strains on facial skin can be visualized. Further discussion on the relationship between the creation of wrinkles and strains is possible with the help of the developed system.

A case of recurrent rhabdomyolysis associated with childhood Sjogren’s syndrome

We report a 9-year-old Japanese girl who presented with muscle weakness and elevated serum levels of muscle-derived enzymes following mycoplasma infection. Rhabdomyolysis or myositis was suggested by magnetic resonance imaging and repeated four times within 4 years. Each episode developed following respiratory infection and spontaneously recovered. The diagnosis of Sjogren’s syndrome was made by decreased salivary secretion, MR sialography, lip biopsy, and positive anti-SSA/Ro antibody. Given the rarity of rhabdomyolysis/myositis, recurrent episode could be induced by infectious disease on the basis of underlying Sjogren’s syndrome. Conclusion: Sjogren’s syndrome should be considered as an underlying disease of recurrent infection-induced rhabdomyolysis/ myositis.
