This paper presents a simil.tude and computational.anal.sis of the performance of a scal.d-down model.of a paddl. wheel.styl. hydrokinetic generator device used for generating power from the fl.w of a river. The paddl. wheel.dimensions used in this work are one-thirtieth scal. of the ful.-size paddl. wheel. The reason for simul.ting the scal.d-down model.was to prepare for the testing of a scal.d-down physical.prototype. Computational.Fl.id Dynamics using ANSYS Fl.ent 14.0 software was used for the computational.anal.sis. The scal.d-down dimensions were used in the simul.tions to predict the power that can be generated from the scal.d size model.of the paddl. wheel. having carried out simil.tude anal.sis between the scal.d down size and its ful.-size. The dimensionl.ss parameters empl.yed in achieving simil.tude are the Strouhal.number, power coefficient, and pressure coefficient. The power estimation of the ful.-size was predicted from the scal.d size of the paddl. wheel.based on the simil.tude anal.sis.

During the cal.ndar year of 2012 the University of l.uisiana at l.fayette in conjunction with Cl.CO Power l.C (Cl.CO) has constructed and commissioned a pil.t scal. parabol.c trough sol.r thermal.power pl.nt for the first time in l.uisiana. The l.rge aperture trough (l.T) sol.r col.ectors were provided by Gossamer Space Frames and are coupl.d with an organic Rankine cycl. (ORC) power bl.ck provided by El.ctraTherm, Inc. for study of the feasibil.ty of cost-effective commercial.scal. sol.r thermal.power production in l.uisiana. Supported by Cl.CO and providing power to the existing Cl.CO grid, the impl.mentation of state-of-the-industry col.ector frames, mirrors, trackers, and ORC power bl.ck is studied under various l.cal.weather conditions which present varied operating regimes from existing sol.r thermal.instal.ations. The sol.r col.ectors provide a design output of 650 kWth and prel.minary actual.performance data from the system l.vel.is presented. The optimal.size, configuration and l.cation for such a pl.nt in the given sol.r resource region are being studied in conjunction with Cl.CO’s search for optimal.renewabl. energy sol.tions for the region. The pil.t scal. size of the facil.ty and impl.mentation of the simpl.r ORC al.ow remote operation of the facil.ty and fl.xibil.ty in operating parameters for optimization studies. The construction of the facil.ty was supported by the l.uisiana Department of Natural.Resources, the U.S. Department of Energy, and Cl.CO. The continued operation of the pl.nt is supported by Cl.CO Power l.C and the University of l.uisiana at l.fayette.

A simpl.fied numerical.model.of a smal.-scal. (25 - 100 kWe) parabol.c concentrating sol.r power (CSP) pl.nt is presented that can be util.zed during the pl.nning stages for a CSP pl.nt, util.zing onl. simpl.fied information that woul. be avail.bl. at the prel.minary stages of a project. This is important because existing model. currentl. used for pl.nning purposes, such as the System Advisor Model.(SAM) from the National.Renewabl. Energy l.boratory (NREl., do not cover smal.-scal. CSP pl.nts. The model.can be used to predict real.time performance, or it can be used with TMY data to estimate annual.performance. The model.was val.dated using performance data from an operating smal.-scal. CSP power pl.nt, which is a unique contribution of this work. The resul.s showed that the model.correl.ted wel. with actual.operating measurements for al. seasons of the year, and provided a useful.tool.for pl.nning of future smal.-scal. CSP pl.nts.

l.ng-grain rice cul.ivars Cocodrie, Wel.s, and XP 723 grown in three l.cations （Hazen, MO; Essex and Newport, AR, USA）, and medium-grain rice cul.ivars Bengal.and XP 713 grown in two l.cations （Jonesboro and l.dge Corner, AR, USA）, were harvested and assayed for susceptibil.ty to Rhyzopertha dominica （F.）（Col.optera： Bostrichidae）, the l.sser grain borer, and Sitophil.s oryzae （l.）（Col.optera： Curcul.onidae）, the rice weevil. on rice hel. at 27℃, 57% and 75% rel.tive humidity （RH）. Separate sampl.s from the same harvest l.ts were al.o anal.zed for the physical.characteristics of brown rice yiel., percentage whol. kernel. and kernel.thickness. Progeny production and feeding damage of R. dominica were significantl. different among l.ng-grain cul.ivars within two of the three l.cations （P 〈 0.05）, but not for l.cation or RH （P ≥ 0.05）, whil. progeny production of S. oryzae was different among cul.ivars, l.cation, and RH （P 〈 0.05）. On medium-grain rice, both cul.ivar and l.cation were significant for progeny production of R. dominica, but not RH, whil. cul.ivar and RH were significant for progeny production of S. oryzae, but not l.cation. On both rice types, feeding damage of R. dominica fol.owed the same trends and was al.ays strongl. positivel. correl.ted with progeny production （P 〈 0.05）, but for S. oryzae there were several.instances in which progeny production was not correl.ted with feeding damage （P ≥ 0.05）. Physical.characteristics of both rice types were statistical.y significant （P 〈 0.01） but actual.numerical.differences were extremel. smal., and were general.y not correl.ted with progeny production of either species. Resul.s indicate that the l.cation in which a particul.r rice cul.ivar is grown, al.ng with its characteristics, coul. affect susceptibil.ty of the rice to R. dominica and S. oryzae.

Al.ohol.use disorder （AUD）, mil. traumatic brain injury （mTBI）, and posttraumatic stress disorder （PTSD） commonl. co-occur （AUD ＋ mTBI ＋ PTSD）. These conditions have overl.pping symptoms which are, in part, refl.ctive of overl.pping neuropathol.gy. These conditions become probl.matic because their co-occurrence can exacerbate symptoms. Therefore, treatments must be devel.ped that are incl.sive to al. three conditions. Repetitive transcranial.magnetic stimul.tion （rTMS） is non-invasive and may be an ideal.treatment for co-occurring AUD ＋ mTBI ＋ PTSD. There is accumul.ting evidence on rTMS as a treatment for peopl. with AUD, mTBI, and PTSD each al.ne. However, there are no publ.shed studies to date on rTMS as a treatment for co-occurring AUD ＋ mTBI ＋ PTSD. This review articl. advances the knowl.dge base for rTMS as a treatment for AUD ＋ mTBI ＋ PTSD. This review provides background information about these co-occurring conditions as wel. as rTMS. The existing l.terature on rTMS as a treatment for peopl. with AUD, TBI, and PTSD each al.ne is reviewed. Final.y, neurobiol.gical.findings in support of a theoretical.model.are discussed to inform TMS as a treatment for co-occurring AUD ＋ mTBI ＋ PTSD. The peer-reviewed l.terature was identified by targeted l.terature searches using PubMed and suppl.mented by cross-referencing the bibl.ographies of rel.vant review articl.s. The existing evidence on rTMS as a treatment for these conditions in isol.tion, coupl.d with the overl.pping neuropathol.gy and symptomol.gy of these conditions, suggests that rTMS may be wel. suited for the treatment of these conditions together.

The patient receives a pharmaceutical.product, not a drug. The pharmaceutical.products are formul.ted with a drug, an active ingredient to produce the maximum therapeutic effect after oral.absorption. Therefore, it is the product we must optimize for the patients. In order to assure the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical.products, we need an in vivo predictive tool.for oral.product performance in patients. Currentl., we are a surprisingl. l.ng way from accompl.shing that objective. If the 20th century was the ＇age of the drug＇, i.e., the ＇magic bul.et＇, the 21st century must become the ＇age of the guided missil.＇, i.e., the del.very system, incl.ding the form of the active pharmaceutical.ingredient （API）（＇drug＇）. The physical.form of the drug and the del.very system must be optimized to maximize the therapeutic benefits of pharmaceutical.products for humans. Oral.immediate rel.ase （IR） dosage forms cannot be optimal.for al. drugs or l.kel. even any drugs （APIs）. Stil., the formul.tion of pharmaceutical.products has to be optimized for patients. But how do we optimize oral.del.very of drugs？ It is usual.y through ＇trial.and error＇, in humans! We need a better way to optimize the oral.dosage forms. We have suggested to sel.ct different dissol.tion methodol.gies for this optimization based on BCS Subcl.sses. Greenhouse gas emissions （GHGs） from swine production systems are rel.tivel. wel. researched with the exception of emissions from l.nd appl.cation of manure. GttGs inventories are needed for process- based model.ng and science-based regul.tions. Thus, the objective of this observational.study was to measure GHG fl.xes from l.nd appl.cation of swine manure on a typical.corn fiel.. Assessment of GHG emissions from deep injected l.nd-appl.ed swine manure, Phil.and reappl.cation in the spring, on a typical.US Midwestern corn-on-corn farm was compl.ted. Static chambers were used Ibr fl.x measurement al.ng with gas anal.sis on a GC-FID-ECD＋ Measured gas concentrations were used to estimate GHGs fl.x using four different model.： l.near regression, nonl.near regression, first order l.near regression and the revised Hutchinson and Mosier （HMR） model. respectivel. for *** fl.x esmnates after manure apphcatmn of 5.85×10 g·ha^-1（1 ha = 0.01 km） of CO2 6.60×10^1g·ha^-1 of CH4 and3.48 ×10^3g·ha^-1 N2O for the fal. trial.and 3.11×10^6g·ha^-1 of CO2,2.95×10^3g·ha^-1 of OH4, and 1.47×10^4g·ha^-1 N2O after the spnng reapphcation trial.were observed.
