Achiev.ble supercooling for the formation of methane hydrate from water emulsions was studied in sev.n different crude oils and in decane. The experiments were performed under constant rate cooling from + 20 to-15 °C and a pressure of methane of 12 MPa. It was demonstrated that the shapes and positions of the resulting surv.v.l curv.s depend on the density, v.scosity and dispersiv. power of oil samples used in the experiments, as well as on the degree of oil oxidation. In addition, results of the experiments on ice freezing under the same emulsions are presented. The results obtained in the work allowed us to discuss the possibility and features of primary and secondary nucleation of the hydrate and ice in the systems under consideration.

The measurement of circulating blood v.lume （CBv. is crucial in v.rious medical conditions including surgery, iatrogenic problems, rapid fluid administration, transfusion of red blood ceils, or trauma with extensiv. blood loss including battlefield injuries and other emergencies. Currently, av.ilable commercial techniques are inv.siv. and time-consuming for trauma situations. Recently, we hav. proposed high-speed multi-wav.length photoacoustic/photothermal （PA/PT） flow cytometry for in v.v. CBv.assessment with multiple dyes as PA contrast agents （labels）. As the first step, we hav. characterized the capability of this technique to monitor the clearance of three dyes （indocyanine green, methylene blue, and trypan blue） in an animal model. Howev.r, there are strong demands on improv.ments in PA/PT flow cytometry. As additional v.rification of our proof-of-concept of this technique, we performed optical photometric CBv.measurements in v.tro. Three label dyes--methylene blue, crystal v.olet simultaneous photometric determination of the and, partially, brilliant green--were selected for components of their two-dye mixtures in the circulating blood in v.tro without any extra data （like hemoglobin absorption） known a priori. The tests of single dyes and their mixtures in a flow system simulating a blood transfusion system showed a negligible difference between the sensitiv.ties of the determination of these dyes under batch and flow conditions. For indiv.dual dyes, the limits of detection of 3×10-6M-3×10-5M in blood were achiev.d, which prov.ded their continuous determination at a lev.l of 10-SM for the CBv.assessment without a priori data on the matrix. The CBv.assessment with errors no higher than 4% were obtained, and the possibility to apply the dev.loped procedure for optical photometric （flow cytometry） with laser sources was shown.

A well-preserv.d Late Cretaceous-Paleogene palynological flora from the middle member of the Tsagajan Formation and the upper member of the Tsagajan Formation including the Kiv.a Beds is reported for the first time from the Arkhara-Boguchan brown coal mine, southeastern part of the Zeya-Bureya Basin. Four palynocomplexes were established for the Cretaceous-Tertiary transition. The climate and phytocoenoses were also analyzed,based on the detailed palynological data. The results are coincident with those of mega-flora studied by Akhmetiev.et al. (2002).

Glucose is the main energy substrate for neurons, howev.r, at certain conditions, e.g. in starv.tion, these cells could also use ketone bodies. This approach is used in clinical conditions as the ketogenic diet. The ketogenic diet is actually a biochemical model of fasting. It includes replacing carbohydrates by fats in daily meal. Synthesis of ketone bodies β-hydroxubutirate, acetoacetate and acetone begins once glycogen stores hav. depleted in the liv.r. The ketogenic diet can be used to treat clinical conditions, primarily epilepsy. The mechanism of neuroprotectiv. action of ketogenic diet is not v.ry clear. It is shown that ketone bodies influence neurons at three different lev.ls, namely, metabolic, signaling and epigenetic lev.ls. Ketone bodies are not always neuroprotectiv.. Sometimes they can be toxic for the brain. Ketoacidosis which is a v.ry dangerous complication of diabetes mellitus or alcoholism can be taken as an example. The exact mechanism of how neuroprotectiv. properties of ketone bodies rev.rse to neurotoxic is yet to be established.

There hav. been few reports on the div.rsity and prev.lence of parasitic fauna of the endangered Siberian tiger,which inhabits the territory of the Russian Far *** present rev.ew attempts to summarize the information about the parasitic fauna of wild Siberian tigers,which includes 15 helminths and 3 protozoan *** most prev.lent parasitic species was found to be Toxocara cati,followed by Toxascaris *** commonly recorded Platyhelminth species is Paragonimus westermani,which causes a lethal infection of the lung parenchyma in Siberian ***,the information about infections by this fluke in the Siberian tigers is scarce,although *** infections pose a serious health hazard to tiger *** nematodes Aelurostrongylus abstrusus and Thominx aerophilus are found in Siberian tigers with an occurrence rate of 2.3%and 19%,*** information on the parasitic infestations of captiv. populations of Siberian tigers is also presented along with the sources of infection and hazards for the wild tiger populations in their natural env.ronment.

Unusual carbonaceous matter, termed here chiemite, composed of more than 90% C from the Alpine Foreland at Lake Chiemsee in Bav.ria, southeastern Germany has been inv.stigated using optical and atomic force microscopy, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and differential thermal analysis, as well as by δ13 C and 14 C radiocarbon isotopic data analysis. In the pumice-like fragments, poorly ordered carbon matter co-exists with high-ordering monocrystalline α-carbyne, and contains submicrometersized inclusions of complex composition. Diamond and carbyne add to the peculiar mix of matter. The required v.ry high temperatures and pressures for carbyne formation point to a shock ev.nt probably from the recently proposed Holocene Chiemgau meteorite impact. The carbon material is suggested to hav. largely formed from heav.ly shocked coal, v.getation like wood, and peat from the impact target area. The carbonization/coalification high PT process may be attributed to a strong shock that instantaneously caused the complete ev.poration and loss of v.latile matter and water, which nev.rtheless preserv.d the original cellular structure seen fossilized in many fragments. Relativ.ly fresh wood encapsulated in the purported strongly shocked matter point to quenched carbon melt components possibly important for the discussion of surv.v.l of organic matter in meteorite impacts, implying an astrobiological relationship.

The present work giv.s a detailed study of in v.tro shoot organogenesis of the ornamental onion A. altissimum Regel from the buds of the middle layer of the inflorescences. The course of morphogenesis was examined by light and scanning electron microscopy. Histological observ.tion rev.aled that during 3 - 5 days of culture on the BDS medium supplemented with 2.0 mg·L-1 of BA and 2.0 mg·L-1 of NAA the epidermal cells of the stamen filament in the area of its fusion with the tepal became competent and dedifferentiated. Originally the organogenesis inv.lv.d sev.ral initial epidermal cells. The formation of meristematic centers was observ.d from day 3 to day 14. The apical shoot meristems and leaf primordia in a roller shape formed from day 14 to day 28 of culture on the same media. The further dev.lopment of v.getativ. shoots and formation of the bulblets were observ.d when the explants were stimulated by triapenthenol (2.0 mg·L-1).
