Achiev.ble supercooling for the formation of methane hydrate from water emulsions was studied in sev.n different crude oils and in decane. The experiments were performed under constant rate cooling from + 20 to-15 °C and a pressure of methane of 12 MPa. It was demonstrated that the shapes and positions of the resulting surv.v.l curv.s depend on the density, v.scosity and dispersiv. power of oil samples used in the experiments, as well as on the degree of oil oxidation. In addition, results of the experiments on ice freezing under the same emulsions are presented. The results obtained in the work allowed us to discuss the possibility and features of primary and secondary nucleation of the hydrate and ice in the systems under consideration.

New reagents for immunofluorescence analysis of carbazole series containing fluorinated β-dicarbonyl fragments and carboxylic substituent groups separated by spacers of different lengths from the light-gathering carbazole scaffold hav. been dev.loped. The markers in complex with Eu3+ ions possess stability in the aqueous phase, intense and prolonged luminescence (τ 550 - 570 μs) with characteristic emission maxima in the region of 615 nm and excitation wav.lengths in the region of 380 - 390 nm, which distinguishes them from most of the analogs used. In the study of marker conjugation with streptav.din, a reagent containing 4 - 5 europium labeling complexes based on spacer-containing carbazole tetraketone was obtained. The marker-doped silicate nanoparticles exhibit intense and long-liv.d luminescence in the characteristic region.

The measurement of circulating blood v.lume （CBv. is crucial in v.rious medical conditions including surgery, iatrogenic problems, rapid fluid administration, transfusion of red blood ceils, or trauma with extensiv. blood loss including battlefield injuries and other emergencies. Currently, av.ilable commercial techniques are inv.siv. and time-consuming for trauma situations. Recently, we hav. proposed high-speed multi-wav.length photoacoustic/photothermal （PA/PT） flow cytometry for in v.v. CBv.assessment with multiple dyes as PA contrast agents （labels）. As the first step, we hav. characterized the capability of this technique to monitor the clearance of three dyes （indocyanine green, methylene blue, and trypan blue） in an animal model. Howev.r, there are strong demands on improv.ments in PA/PT flow cytometry. As additional v.rification of our proof-of-concept of this technique, we performed optical photometric CBv.measurements in v.tro. Three label dyes--methylene blue, crystal v.olet simultaneous photometric determination of the and, partially, brilliant green--were selected for components of their two-dye mixtures in the circulating blood in v.tro without any extra data （like hemoglobin absorption） known a priori. The tests of single dyes and their mixtures in a flow system simulating a blood transfusion system showed a negligible difference between the sensitiv.ties of the determination of these dyes under batch and flow conditions. For indiv.dual dyes, the limits of detection of 3×10-6M-3×10-5M in blood were achiev.d, which prov.ded their continuous determination at a lev.l of 10-SM for the CBv.assessment without a priori data on the matrix. The CBv.assessment with errors no higher than 4% were obtained, and the possibility to apply the dev.loped procedure for optical photometric （flow cytometry） with laser sources was shown.

We examined a cohort of 93 cystic fibrosis(CF)male patients who were pancreatic-sufficient(PS-CF;n=40)or pancreatic-insufficient(PI-CF;n=53).Complex semen examination was performed,including standard semen analysis,quantitativ. karyological analysis(QKA)of immature germ cells(IGCs),transmission electronic microscopy(TEM),biochemical analysis,and sperm DNA fragmentation by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nickend labeling(TUNEL)assay.Azoospermia was diagnosed in 83(89.2%)patients.The other 10(10.8%)patients were found to be nonazoospermic and showed v.rious spermatological diagnoses(asthenozoospermia,n=2;asthenoteratozoospermia,n=3;oligoasthenozoospermia,n=1;oligoasthenoteratozoospermia,n=3;and normozoospermia,n=1)with no specific morphological abnormalities.Oligospermia was detected in 89.2%azoospermic and 30.0%nonazoospermic patients.Low seminal pH(v.aled in 2.4%azoospermic and 40.0%nonazoospermic semen samples.The signs of partial meiotic arrest at prophase I were found in 4 of 6 nonazoospermic patients examined by QKA of IGCs.The content of fructose and citrate was low in oligospermic and normal in nonoligospermic semen samples.An increased percentage(>30%)of spermatozoa with noncondensed(“immature”)chromatin was rev.aled in 2 of 6 nonazoospermic semen samples analyzed by TEM.

The interaction between the India-Eurasia collision and the Western Pacific subduction and their contribution to recent geodynamics of the Asian continent are discussed. We perform a comparativ. analysis of the data av.ilable from world literature and new data on the slow strain and earthquake migration from the India-Eurasia collision and the Western Pacific subduction zones. Based on the concepts of wav. dynamics of the deformation processes, a localization scheme is constructed illustrating the migration of slow strain fronts in central and eastern Asia, and the wav. geodynamic impact of collision and subduction on the Asian continent is shown.

Both numerical and experimental studies of the stability and electronic properties of barium–sodium metaborate Ba_(2)Na_(3)(B_(3)O_(6))_(2)F(P63/m) at pressures up to 10 GPa hav. been carried out. Electronic-structure calculations with HSE06 hybrid functional showed that Ba_(2)Na_(3)(B_(3)O_(6))_(2)F has an indirect band gap of 6.289 ev. A numerical study rev.aled the decomposition of Ba_(2)Na_(3)(B_(3)O_(6))_(2)F into the BaB_(2)O_(4),Na BO_(2), and NaF phases abov. 3.4 GPa at 300 K. Subsequent high-pressure high-temperature experiments performed using ‘Discov.rer-1500’DIA-type apparatus at pressures of 3 and 6 GPa and temperature of 1173 K confirmed the stability of Ba_(2)Na_(3)(B_(3)O_(6))_(2)F at 3 GPa and its decomposition into BaB_(2)O_(4), NaBO_(2), and NaF at 6 GPa, which was v.rified by energy-dispersiv. X-ray analysis and Raman spectroscopy. The observ.d Raman bands of the Ba_(2)Na_(3)(B_(3)O_(6))_(2)F phase were assigned by comparing the experimental and calculated spectra. The experimental Raman spectra of decomposition reaction products obtained at 6 GPa suggest the origin of a new high-pressure modification of barium metaborate BaB_(2)O_(4).

BACKGROUND Optimal physical activ.ty is known to reduce cardiov.scular,respiratory and endocrine system diseases and,as a consequence,improv. quality of life.An important risk factor for reinjuries during normal exercise is the initial connectiv. tissue pathology.The v.riety of clinical dysplastic manifestations significantly complicate the timely diagnosis of this comorbidity.AIM To establish pathognomonic sex-specific dysplasia phenotypes that indicate a particular sensitiv.ty to physical exertion.METHODS The study inv.lv.d 117 participants with recurrent musculoskeletal injuries that occurred during normal exercise.There were 67 women(57.26%)and 50 men(42.74%),which made it possible to compare the presence of the identified signs between sexes.A v.lidated questionnaire was used to screen their connectiv. tissue status.RESULTS Ranking the most commonly rev.aled dysplasia signs depending on their clinical significance made it possible to establish pathognomonic sex-specific phenotypes that indicated a particular susceptibility to injuries.Indiv.dualized programs of optimal physical activ.ty are necessary for men with chest deformities,flat-v.lgus feet,dolichostenomelia,arachnodactylia,hemorrhoids,abdominal muscle diastasis and recurrent hernias.In women,special sensitiv.ty to physical exertion was associated with a combination of signs such as asthenic body,joint hypermobility,ov.rly soft auricles,thin hyperelastic skin,atrophic striae,telangiectasias and v.ricose v.ins.Of particular importance were univ.rsal signs such as gothic palate,scoliosis,kyphosis,leg deformities,temporomandibular joint crunching,and moderate to high myopia.CONCLUSION Participants’connectiv. tissue condition should be considered when designing optimal physical activ.ty programs.Identifying the established sex-specific dysplasia phenotypes will allow timely optimization of training loads,thus reducing the risk of injury.

Nonalcoholic fatty liv.r disease(NAFLD)is the most common chronic liv.r disease,leading to fibrosis,cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma and also associated with increased cardiov.scular disease mortality.The pathogenesis of NAFLD is not fully understood,although NAFLD is thought to be a hepatic form of metabolic syndrome.There is an increasing understanding of the role of microbiota disturbances in NAFLD pathogenesis,and as with many other conditions affecting the microbiota,NAFLD may be a nov.l risk factor for Clostridioides difficile(C.difficile)colonization(CDC)and C.difficile infection(CDI).CDI is an emerging nosocomial disease,and community-acquired cases of infection are growing,probably due to an increase in CDC rates.The association of NAFLD with CDI has been shown in only 4 studies to date,three of which included less than 1000 patients,although the frequency of NAFLD in these studies was observ.d in almost 20%of the total patient cohort.These data rev.aled that NAFLD is a risk factor for CDI dev.lopment and,moreov.r,is a risk factor for intestinal complications of CDI.More studies are needed to inv.stigate this association and mov. forward CDC and CDI screening efforts for this group of patients.

Modeling of cold-temperate tree Pinus koraiensis (Pinaceae) distribution in the Asia-Pacific region: Climate change impact

Background:Pinus koraiensis Siebold&Zucc.(Korean pine)is a key species of the mixed cold temperate forests of Northeast Asia.Current climate change can significantly worsen the quality of P.koraiensis habitats and therefore lead to a large-scale structural and functional transformation of the East Asian mixed forests.We built a species distribution model(SDM)for P.koraiensis using the random forest classifier–a v.rsatile machine learning al-gorithm,to discov.r ov.rlap areas of potential species occurrence in the climate condition of the Last Glacial Maximum(~21,000 year before present)and in the projected future climates(2070 year),from which possible permanent refugia for P.koraiensis were identified.Results:Using the random forest superv.sed learning algorithm,we dev.loped models of the modern distribution of P.koraiensis in accordance with the fiv. selected bioclimatic v.riables(Kira’s warmth and coldness indices,the index of continentality,the rain precipitation index,and the snow precipitation index).In addition to current climatic conditions,we performed this analysis for the climate of the Last Glacial Maximum and for the future projected climate(2070)under scenarios RCP2.6 and RCP8.5.Among the predictors,the rain index appears to be the most significant.The land area estimates with high suitability for P.koraiensis was 303,785 km 2 under current climatic conditions,586,499 km 2 for the Last Glacial Maximum,and 337,573 km^(2) for the future(2070)period under the RCP2.6 scenario,and 397,764 km^(2) under the RCP8.5 scenario.Conclusions:Most of the potential range of P.koraiensis during the Last Glacial Maximum was located outside the current distribution area of the species.The climatically suitable P.koraiensis habitats will likely disappear in the western part of its modern range.In the southern part of the range,which includes glacial refugia,the areas of continuous distribution of the P.koraiensis populations since the end of the Pleistocene are expected to be frag-mented,but some localities in the north

The grain of rye(Secale cereale L.) used for baking contains a large amount of non-starch polysaccharides,making it an excellent component of functional foods. But rye grain intended for alcohol production and forage use should hav. a reduced content of these polysaccharides. A comprehensiv. parameter that can predict the best field of application for winter rye grain is the v.scosity of its wholemeal water extract.Howev.r, our understanding of the genetic background underlying this key trait and associated features of rye grain is poor. By analyzing six Russian winter rye cultiv.rs, we identified the most contrasting forms and characterized the peculiarities of their water-soluble carbohydrates capable of influencing the v.scosity of water extracts. Then, using phylogenetic and transcriptomic analyses, we identified in the rye genome many genes encoding putativ. glycosyltransferases and glycosylhydrolases responsible for the synthesis and degradation of arabinoxylans, mixed-linkage glucans, cellulose, and some other polysaccharides. We determined the dynamics of m RNA abundance for these genes at three stages of kernel dev.lopment. Comparisons of gene expression lev.ls in two contrasting cultiv.rs rev.aled specific members of multigene families that may serv. as promising targets for manipulating non-starch polysaccharide content in rye grain. High-v.scosity cultiv.rs were characterized by up-regulation of many glycosyltransferases inv.lv.d in the biosynthesis of arabinoxylans and other cell-wall polysaccharides,whereas low-v.scosity cultiv.rs showed up-regulation of sev.ral genes encoding polysaccharidedegrading enzymes.
