On-demand hydrogen generation is desired for fuel cells,energy storage,and clean energy *** nanowires(siNWs)and nanoparticles(siNPs)have been reported to generate hydrogen by reacting with water,but these processes usually require external assistance,such as light,electricity or ***,we demonstrate that a porous siNWs array,which is fabricated via the metal-assisted anodic etching(MAAE)method,reacts with water under ambient and dark conditions without any energy *** reaction between the siNWs and water generates hydrogen at a rate that is about ten times faster than the reported rates of other si *** possible sources of enhancement are discussed:siNWs maintain their high specific surface area as they don’t agglomerate,and the intrinsic strain of the nanowires promotes the ***,the porous siNWs array is portable,reusable,and environmentally friendly,yielding a promising route to produce hydrogen in a distributed manner.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Gout is a common arthritis, resulting from the deposition of monosodium urate crystals within the joints. This disorder affects one to two percent of adults in developed countries, and may be increasing in prevalence. Crystal deposition has traditionally been identified by using joint aspirants. Gout may also be diagnosed by ultrasound (Us), based upon the presence of a"double contour sign". This study evaluated the ability of Us to detect a decrease or disappearance of the Us features of gout after the initiation of urate lowering *** This prospective study included 16 males with gout, averaging 61 years of age. Evaluations were made of the first metatarsophalangeal joints and knees at baseline and after six months of treatment. Medical intervention include either allopurinol, 100 mg per day, or febuxostat, 80 mg per day, both titrated to achieve target serum uric acid levels of less than 360 μmol per *** Features of gout had not disappeared in four patients who did not reach the target blood levels of serum uric acid. Among those who did achieve target levels, there was an excellent correlation with a decrease or disappearance of Us features in all joints *** This study of patients with gout found that the disappearance of urate deposits by ultrasound analysis correlates well with the efficacy of urate lowering therapy drugs.

Color-Coding of Microchip RT-PCR Test system for sARs-CoV-2 Detection

An RT-PCR based microchip test system for the detection of sARs-CoV-2 offers pre-loaded and lyophilized reagents in the microchip. However, the 30- and 48-microwell formats of the microchip being miniaturized and performing 1.2 μl reaction, seek visual attention during sample addition. Therefore, adding colorants as color indicator in the lyophilized matrix in the microchips or adding to sample or master mix can impart not only user-friendliness to the task of liquid handling but also precision, and color-codes for easy identification of multiple kits in the layout of the microchip without compromising PCR data quality. A panel of colorants was screened for their background intensity, spectral inertness towards detection channels of AriaDNAsup>TMsup> analyzer, interference with the reporter dyes (FAM, Cy5 and ROX), and visibility of optimal concentration in the microwell. The concentration of the colorant displaying insignificant impact on the quality of the amplification (Ct, fluorescence, and sensitivity) in comparison to no-colorant control was chosen for inclusion in the test kit. Tartrazine, Acid Red, Brilliant Blue and FAsT Green colorants lyophilized with the reagents in the sARs-CoV-2 microchips were found to be stable and suitable. storage of microchips with Fast Green colorant was tested at 40°C, 22°C, 4°C, and -20°C for 70 days and was found to be suitable and compatible with different master mixes available as liquid or lyophilized. Additionally, the microchips pre-loaded with lyophilized reagents in the presence and absence of two colorants Tartrazine and Fast Green were validated with clinical samples of sARs-COV-2. An efficient and green method has been developed for the synthesis of 2H-indazolo[2,1-b]phthalazinetriones derivatives by employing 15 mol%β-cyclodextrinvia a one-pot multicomponent reaction of aldehyde,dimedone,hydrazine hydrate with succinic anhydride/phthalic anhydride in water at 80 ℃ for first *** catalyst could be recovered and reused for four consecutive cycles without appreciable loss in catalytic activity and evaluated for in vitro antimicrobial activity against different Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial *** outcome of the screening study showed that compound 6d,6f and7 n exhibited excellent activity against ***,compound 6f and 6h exhibited excellent activity against ***,and compound 6c,and 6e displayed again excellent activity against staphylococcus aureus whereas compound 7o shows excellent activity against *** and *** when compared with Ampicillin（standard control）.The results indicated that maximum compounds are moderately effective against bacterial growth and their effectiveness is highest against standard drugs.

Predicting monsoon onset is crucial for agriculture and socioeconomic planning in countries where millions rely on the timely arrival of monsoon rains for their livelihoods. In this study we demonstrate useful skill in predicting year-to-year variations in south China sea summer monsoon onset at up to a three-month lead time using the Glosea5 seasonal forecasting system. The main source of predictability comes from skillful prediction of Pacific sea surface temperatures associated with El Ni?no and La Ni?na. The south China sea summer monsoon onset is a known indicator of the broadscale seasonal transition that represents the first stage of the onset of the Asian summer monsoon as a whole. subsequent development of rainfall across East Asia is influenced by subseasonal variability and synoptic events that reduce predictability, but interannual variability in the broadscale monsoon onset for East Asian summer monsoon still provides potentially useful information for users about possible delays or early occurrence of the onset of rainfall over East Asia.

Validation of Microchip Based RT-PCR ABC Test (InfA/B &COVID-19) in Clinical samples

To contain the rapid and global spread of sARs-CoV-2, it is essential to develop an accurate and sensitive test system to address pandemic bottlenecks, simplified sample collection, and no sample prep. While meeting the demand of testing large populations, the miniaturized volume of assay reagents and offering rapid results is the need in such scenarios. Moreover, in view of the reports of co-infections and overlapping symptoms of Influenza caused by Influenza A or Influenza B, and COVID-19 caused by sARs-CoV-2, a test system with three targets can be supportive for accurate clinical diagnosis. In this presentation, we evaluated the performance of a test comprising Microchip RT-PCR Influenza and COVID-19 Detection system for identifying these three viral pathogens in nasal swabs and saliva specimens. A rapid and simplified total nucleic acid extraction method was developed and validated for the reliable, high-throughput simultaneous detection of respiratory viruses causing Influenza (type A and type B viruses) and COVID-19 (sARs-CoV-2 virus) using the microchip-based AriaDNATM platform deriving the name ABC Test. The test system was evaluated using 81 nasal swab samples, 77 clinical saliva samples, 5 blind CAP reference samples, and RNA standards. The limit of detection (LoD) was assessed using sARs-CoV-2, Influenza A, and Influenza B RNA standards. The multiplex ABC Test microchip displayed LoD of 14 copies/μL for sARs-CoV-2 and approximately 26 copies/μL for Influenza A, and 140 copies/μL for Influenza B, respectively. The ABC Test offers rapid multiplex one-step RT-PCR in 32 minutes for 45 cycles as the miniaturized reaction of 1.2 μL offering a highly sensitive, robust, and accurate assay for the detection of Influenza A/B, and sARs-CoV-2.
