Background:National forest inventory and forest monitoring systems are more important than ever considering continued global degradation of trees and *** systems are especially important in a country like Bangladesh,which is characterised by a large population density,climate change vulnerability and dependence on natural *** the aim of supporting the Government’s actions towards sustainable forest management through reliable information,the Bangladesh Forest Inventory(BFI)was designed and implemented through three components:biophysical inventory,socio-economic survey and remote sensing-based land cover *** article documents the approach undertaken by the Forest Department under the Ministry of Environment,Forests and Climate Change to establish the BFI as a multipurpose,efficient,accurate and replicable national forest *** design,operationalization and some key results of the process are ***:The BFI takes advantage of the latest and most well-accepted technological and methodological ***,it was designed through a collaborative process which drew from the experience and knowledge of multiple national and international ***,1781 field plots were visited,6400 households were surveyed,and a national land cover map for the year 2015 was *** technological enhancements include a semi-automated segmentation approach for developing the wall-to-wall land cover map,an object-based national land characterisation system,consistent estimates between sample-based and mapped land cover areas,use of mobile apps for tree species identification and data collection,and use of differential global positioning system for referencing plot ***:Seven criteria,and multiple associated indicators,were developed for monitoring progress towards sustainable forest management goals,informing management decisions,and national and international reporting needs.A wide range of biophysica

Rumex dentatus could be a potent alternative to treatment of microbial infections and of breast cancer

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the phytochemicals and in vitro antioxidant,antimicrobial and cytotoxic potential of Rumex dentatus(***)leaf ***:The total phenolics and flavonoids content of *** extracts were evaluated by the Folin-Ciocalteu and aluminum chloride colorimetric methods *** potential of studied plant extracts was assessed through 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging capacity,total reducing power and total antioxidant ***,antibacterial and antifungal capacity was also evaluated by disc diffusion method against six clinically isolated multi-drug resistant bacterial strains as well as six fungal ***,cell cytotoxicity was also evaluated through3-(4,5-dimethylthiazolyl-2)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide ***:Ethanol extract showed highest total phenolic[(38.9±1.5)μg gallic acid equivalent/mg]and total flavonoids[(17.2±1.9)μg quercetin equivalent/mg]*** assays indicated that ethanol and methanol extracts possess potent antioxidant ***,it was observed that ethanol and hexane extracts have the potential to inhibit most of the tested multi-drug resistant bacterial strains while methanol,chloroform and hexane extracts could inhibit the growth of pathogenic fungal strains *** all the studied extracts,ethanolic extract showed highest cytotoxicity against MCF-7 cell line then Hep-2 and DU-145 cell lines by MTT assay with lowest IC50 of 47.3μg/m ***:These results suggest that *** could be a potent alternative candidate for treatment of microbial infections and for breast cancer treatment.

Inhibitory activities of extracts of Rumex dentatus, Commelina benghalensis, Ajuga bracteosa, Ziziphus mauritiana as well as their compounds of gallic acid and emodin against dengue virus

Objective: To investigate the inhibitory effects against dengue virus serotype 2(DENV-2) by five different fractions(extracted by methanol, ethanol, benzene, chloroform and n-hexane) of Rumex dentatus, Commelina benghalensis, Ajuga bracteosa and Ziziphus mauritiana, as well as their constituents(gallic acid, emodin, and isovanillic acid). Methods: All the samples were tested for cytotoxicity on baby hamster kidney cells by MTT assay and for anti-DENV-2 activity by plaque reduction neutralization assay using two DENV-2 doses(45 and 90 plaqueforming units or PFU). Results: All the samples except isovanillic acid exhibited significant prophylactic effects against DENV-2 infectivity(without cytotoxicity) when administered to cells before infection, but were not effective when given 6 h post-infection. The methanol extract of Rumex dentatus demonstrated the highest antiviral efficacy by inhibiting DENV-2 replication, with IC_(50) of 0.154 μg/mL and 0.234 μg/mL, when added before infection with 45 and 90 PFU of virus, respectively. Gallic acid also exhibited significant antiviral effects by prophylactic treatment prior to virus adsorption on cells, with IC_(50) of 0.191 μg/mL and 0.522 μg/mL at 45 and 90 PFU of DENV-2 infection, respectively. Conclusions: The highly potent activities of the extracts and constituent compounds of these plants against DENV-2 infectivity highlight their potential as targets for further research to identify novel antiviral agents against dengue.

Owing to technological developments,Medical image analysis has received considerable attention in the rapid detection and classification of *** brain is an essential organ in *** tumors cause loss of memory,vision,and *** 2020,approximately 18,020 deaths occurred due to brain *** cases can be minimized if a brain tumor is diagnosed at a very early *** vision researchers have introduced several techniques for brain tumor detection and ***,owing to many factors,this is still a challenging *** challenges relate to the tumor size,the shape of a tumor,location of the tumor,selection of important features,among *** this study,we proposed a framework for multimodal brain tumor classification using an ensemble of optimal deep learning *** the proposed framework,initially,a database is normalized in the form of high-grade glioma(HGG)and low-grade glioma(LGG)patients and then two pre-trained deep learning models(ResNet50 and Densenet201)are *** deep learning models were modified and trained using transfer ***,the enhanced ant colony optimization algorithm is proposed for best feature selection from both deep *** selected features are fused using a serial-based approach and classified using a cubic support vector *** experimental process was conducted on the BraTs2019 dataset and achieved accuracies of 87.8%and 84.6%for HGG and LGG,*** comparison is performed using several classification methods,and it shows the significance of our proposed technique.

Mathematical modeling and optimal control problems in brain tumor targeted drug delivery strategies

In this paper, we present a mathematical model that describes tumor-normal cells inter- action dynamics focusing on role of drugs in treatment of brain tumors. The goal is to predict distribution and necessary quantity of drugs delivered in drug-therapy by using optimal control framework. The model describes interactions of tumor and normal cells using a system of reactions^diffusion equations involving the drug concentration, tumor cells and normal tissues. The control estimates simultaneously blood perfusion rate, reabsorption rate of drug and drug dosage administered, which affect the effects of brain tumor chemotherapy. First, we develop mathematical framework which mod- els the competition between tumor and normal cells under chemotherapy constraints. Then, existence, uniqueness and regularity of solution of state equations are proved as well as stability results. Afterwards, optimal control problems are formulated in order to minimize the drug delivery and tumor cell burden in different situations. We show existence and uniqueness of optimal solution, and we derive necessary conditions for optimality. Finally, to solve numerically optimal control and optimization problems, we propose and investigate an adjoint multiple-relaxation-time lattice Boltzmann method for a general nonlinear coupled anisotropic convection-diffusion system （which includes the developed model for brain tumor targeted drug delivery system）.

Fabrication of novel ZnO/MnWO_4 nanocomposites with p-n heterojunction: Visible-light-induced photocatalysts with substantially improved activity and durability

We report, for the first time, binary ZnO/MnW04 nanocomposites with p-n heterojunction fabricated by a simple ultrasonic-calcination route. The phase structure, morphology, and optical along with tex- tural properties were comprehensively characterized. The photocatalytic performance was studied via degradations of rhodamine B, methyl blue and methyl orange （RhB, MB, MO）, and fuchsine pollutants under visible-light illumination. The ZnO/MnW04 nanocomposites exhibited better photocatalytic per-formance than their single components and the nanocomposite with 30 wt% MnW04 showed the highest activity. Photocatalytic performance of this nanocomposite is 22.5, 17.7, 26.8, and 23.9 times higher than that of the ZnO sample in degradations of RhB, MB, MO, and fuchsine dyes, respectively. The improved photocatalytic performance was ascribed to the formation ofp-n heterojunction between ZnO and MnW04 with high charge separation efficiency as well as strong visible-light absorption ability. The possible mechanism for the improved photocatalytic performance was proposed. This study revealed that the novel ZnO/MnW04 p-n heterojunction can act as a promising visible-light-active photocatalyst for environmental applications.

Numerical Simulation of Dual-Phase-Lag Model and Inverse Fractional Single-Phase-Lag Problem for the Non-Fourier Heat Conduction in a Straight Fin

In recent years,many studies have been done on heat transfer in the fin under unsteady boundary conditions using Fourier and non-Fourier *** this paper,unsteady non-Fourier heat transfer in a straight fin having an internal heat source under periodic temperature at the base was investigated by solving numerically Dual-Phase-Lag and Fractional Single-Phase-Lag *** this way,the governing equations of these models were presented for heat conduction analysis in the fin,and their results of the temperature distribution were validated using the theoretical results of Single and Dual-Phase-Lag *** that,for the first time the order of fractional derivation and heat flux relaxation time of the fractional model were obtained for the straight fin problem under periodic temperature at the base using Levenberg-Marquardt parameter estimation *** solve the inverse fractional heat conduction problem,the numerical results of Dual-Phase-Lag model were used as the *** results obtained from Fractional Single-Phase-Lag model could predict the fin temperature distribution at unsteady boundary condition at the base as well as the Dual-Phase-Lag model could.

Analytical Solution for Time-dependent Flow of a Third Grade Fluid Induced Due to Impulsive Motion of a Flat Porous Plate

The aim of the present communication is to discuss the analytical solution for the unsteady flow of a third grade fluid which occupies the space y 〉 0 over an infinite porous plate. The flow is generated due to the motion of the plate in its own plane with an impulsive velocity V（t）. Translational symmetries in variables t and y are utilized to reduce the governing non-linear partial differential equation into an ordinary differential equation. The reduced problem is then solved using homotopy analysis method（HAM）. Graphs representing the solution are plotted and discussed and proper conclusions are drawn.
