The cultural heritage inventory is an alternate tool to document historic buildings to establish a protected enlistment *** the importance of inventories for developing knowledge of historical and cultural patterns,multiple attempts are being made to record Karachi's historic buildings in the form of inventory *** research investigates the various approaches used for inventorying Karachi's cultural heritage and their potential impact on the survival of the city's historical *** literature,this research provides a brief overview of Karachi's architectural development before and after its annexation to the British Raj(Term used by scholars to represent the British Crown in *** term'The Raj'is also sometimes used.)(1843-1947),which is now considered the historic core of the city of Karachi,together with the systems of inventorying the built heritage over *** Odharam(Jail)Quarter is shortlisted as a case study for this research,which will be examined from the perspective of inventory making in relation to its specific physical and sociocultural context as documented through the inventorying *** Quarter is also referred to as'Jail Quarter'because of the presence of the Jail building within the Quarter precinct,which was demolished during the British era;it is discussed in further detail later in this *** research approach follows a survey of the quarter conducted between August and September 2022,followed by a mapping of the historic *** inventory mapping of the Quarter is performed by using an available database(Database of various historic Quarters of Karachi by Heritage Cell-DAPNED).The data for inventory also helps provide an understanding of the history and development of the *** other aspects of the research methodology include intreating questions and collecting data about various aspects of the Quarter,such as the building information,photographic documentation of the properties,an

Doping-reinforced interfacial electric field for charge oriented accumulation in Ohm junction boosting photocatalytic Nfixation

The interfacial electric field （IEF） determines the charge carriers transport and the reactivity of heterostructure ***,the restricted IEF lead to inefficient interfacial charge transport and oriented accumulation,resulting in low photocatalytic ***,a interfacial chemical-bonded Ti-BiOBr/1T-MoS1.85Ohm junction is fabricated via electrostatic self-assembly strategy,in which Ti doping precisely regulates the local electrical structure and work function of BiOBr,thus boosting the IEF to efficiently drive charge transfer and oriented accumulation to active *** femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy verified that the Ti0.1Bi0.9OBr/1T-MoS1.85-6%increased the shallow electron trapping （τ1=0.57 ps）while the depressed recombination of photoinduced electrons with trapped holes （τ2=71.88 ps） compared to the BiOBr/1T-MoS1.85-6%（τ1=0.78 ps,τ2=54.61 ps）.More Importantly,the interfacial charge carriers transfer from Ti0.1Bi0.9OBr to 1T-MoS1.85（τ3=86.53 ps） was significantly accelerated by the reinforced IEF compared to BiOBr/1T-MoS1.85-6%（τ3=221.51 ps）.The N2-to-NH3conversion rate of Ti0.1Bi0.9OBr/1T-MoS1.85-6%Ohm junction (36.8μmol g-1cath-1) was 1.9 and 6.9-fold higher than that of BiOBr/1T-MoS1.85-6%and 1T-MoS1.85,*** work provides a new insight into the design of Ohm junction with reinforced IEF for efficient interfacial charge carrier transfer and oriented accumulation towards efficient N2fixation.

Maximum sustainable yield of Greater lizardfish Saurida tumbil fishery in Pakistan using the CEDA and ASPIC packages

The catch and effort data analysis（CEDA） and ASPIC（a stock assessment production model incorporating covariates） computer software packages were used to estimate the maximum sustainable yield（MSY） from the catch and effort data of Greater lizardfish Saurida tumbil fishery of Pakistan from 1986 to 2009. In CEDA three surplus production models of Fox, Schaefer and Pella-Tomlinson were used. Here initial proportion（IP） of 0.5 was used because the starting catch was roughly 50% of the maximum catch. With IP = 0.5, the estimated MSY from Fox model were 20.59 mt and 38.16 mt for normal and log-normal error assumptions, while the MSY from Schaefer and Pella-Tomlinson were 60.40, 60.40 and 60.40 mt, for normal, log-normal and gamma error assumptions respectively. The MSY values from Schaefer and Pella-Tomlinson models of three error assumptions were the same. The R2 values from those three models were above 0.6. When IP = 0.5, the MSY values estimated from ASPIC from Fox were 132 mt, and from logistic model were 69.4 mt, with R2 value above 0.8. Therefore we suggest the MSY of S. tumbil fishery from Pakistan to be 60–70 mt, which is higher than the latest catch, thus we would recommend that the fishing efforts for this fishery may be kept at the current level.

Input-parallel output-parallel configuration of boost half bridge DC-DC converter with control strategy

The concept of connecting two boost half bridge DC-DC converter modules in input-paral- lel output-parallel configuration is presented. The input-parallel-output-parallel （IPOP） converter consists of multiple boost half bridge （BHB） DC-DC converter modules which are connected in par- allel at the input and output side. This kind of converter is an attractive solution for high power ap- plications. The correlation between input current sharing （ICS） and output current sharing （OCS） of the IPOP converter basic modules is described. Two loop control strategies, consisting of input cur- rent loop and output voltage loop, have been developed to achieve equal ICS and OCS in this present work. The control strategy for the IPOP configuration of boost haft bridge DC-DC converter has been verified for different load conditions （half load and full load）, The IPOP system proposed here is comprising of two modules but it can be extended to three or more. The performance of the pro- posed system along with the control strategy is verified by simulation in MATLAB using Simpower tool. Finally the satisfactory simulation results are obtained.

Microwave-assisted synthesis of L-cysteine-capped nickel nanoparticles for catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol

A simple and efficient microwave-assisted procedure for synthesis of L-cysteine-capped nickel nanoparticles(cyst-Ni NPs) in ethylene glycol solvent was demonstrated. The as-synthesised NPs were characterised by ultraviolet–visible(UV–Vis) spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and X-ray diffractometry(XRD). The cyst-Ni NPs are proved to be excellent heterogeneous catalysts for the 100% reduction of 4-nitrophenol(4-NPh) in the presence of reductant(Na BH4)within reaction time of 40 s. In contrast, Raney nickel in similar sample environments shows only 25.5% *** kinetic and energetic behaviours of cyst-Ni NPs were also studied, and the reduction reaction is determined to follow pseudo-first-order kinetics with a rate constant value of 0.115 s-1 and activation energy of 36.1 kJ·mol-1. In addition to its high catalytic competence, cyst-Ni NPs catalyst exhibits excellent recyclability with negligible catalytic poisoning.

Phenotypic characterization and genetic mapping of the dwarf mutant m34 in maize

Plant height is one of the most important agronomic traits associated with yield in *** this study,a gibberellins(GA)-insensitive dwarf mutant,m34,was screened from inbred line Ye478 by treatment with the chemical mutagen ethylmethanesulfonate(EMS).Compared to Ye478,m34 showed a dwarf phenotype with shorter internodes,and smaller leaf length and width,but with similar leaf ***,m34 exhibited smaller guard cells in internodes than Ye478,suggesting that smaller cells might contribute to its dwarf *** analysis indicated that the m34 dwarf phenotype was controlled by a recessive nuclear *** F2 population derived from a cross between m34 and B73 was used for mutational gene cloning and this gene was mapped to a chromosome region between umc2189 and umc1553 in chromosome 1 bin1.10,which harbored a previously identified dwarf gene Zm *** analysis showed a nucleotide substitution(G1606 to A1606)in the sixth exon of ZmVP8,which resulted in an amino acid change(E531 to K531)from Ye478 to *** amino acid change resulted in anα-helix changing to aβ-sheet in the secondary protein structure and the‘SPEC’domain changed to a‘BOT1NT’domain in the tertiary protein *** together,these results suggested that m34 is a novel allelic mutant originally derived from Ye478 that is useful for further ZmVP8 functional analysis in maize.
