Method of Calculation of Stability Constants of Fulvic Complexes on the Example of Copper

On the example of copper fulvate, it is discussed the method of calculation of stability constants of fulvic complexes. At pH = 8, the complex formation of copper（ll） ions with fulvic acids was studied by the solubility method. Fulvic acids were separated from the river Mtkvari by the adsorption-chromotographic method. The charcoal （BAU, Russia） was used as a sorbent. The suspension of copper（If） hydroxide was used as the solid phase, on which was added the increasing quantity of standard solution of fulvic acids. In diluted solutions, at pH = 8 the dominant form of copper（lI） is copper dihydroxo complex Cu（OH）^zO. It was established that in the Cu（OH）2 （solid）-Cu（OH）^20 （solution）-FA^2-H20 system, dominates copper dyhydroxo fulvate complex with the structure 1：1, [Cu（OH）2FA]^2. The average stability constant of copper dyhydroxo fulvate complex was calculated based on experimental data fl [Cu（OH）2FAJ^2 = 4.5× l0^5.

Neurodegenerative disorders are characterized by disruptions to neuronal function and circuitry,leading to a variety of clinical syndromes depending on the affected neuroanatomic regions(Geula,1998).Many proteinopathies implicated in neurodegenerative diseases are characterized by the pathologic accumulation of proteins into inclusions that are initially deposited in specific areas of the brain and spread widely with disease progression.

Fluorescent Proteins(FP)can be applied as biomarkers and biosensors in the industrial and medical fields,but their large-scale use,especially for new industrial applications,is limited due to their low ***,the discovery of additives capable of preserving the activity of FP at room temperature and under stress conditions can help to expand and facilitate their commercial *** this goal,we evaluated the application of 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride-based([C_(n)mim]Cl)ionic liquids(ILs)as additives to preserve the activity of Enhanced Green Fluorescent Protein(EGFP)at different storage times and under unfavorable ***[C_(n)mim]Cl solutions(at 0.100 mol L^(-1))were able to preserve EGFP fluorescence for longer than the phosphatesaline buffer(PBS)and NaCl solutions,increasing its fluorescence manifestation from 1 to 3 months.[C_(n)mim]Cl with shorter to medium cationic alkyl chains were the most effective in preserving EGFP fluorescence.[C_(n)mim]Cl also protected EGFP activity in the presence of the surfactant SDS,the acid guanidine hydrochloride,and H_(2)O_(2).Therefore,[C_(n)mim]Cl can be added to aqueous solutions to preserve EGFP fluorescence activity at room temperature for longer storage times and to reduce the negative impact of denaturing agents on ***,there is a massive potential for the application of ILs as additives to preserve FP in the long-term without refrigeration and under unfavorable conditions,and this is fundamental to enable expansion of FP in industrial and commercial applications.

Blunt thoracic injuries are common among elderly patients and may be a common cause of morbidity and death from blunt trauma *** aimed to examine the impact of chest CT on the diagnosis and change of management plan in elderly patients with stable blunt chest *** hypothesized that chest CT may play an important role in providing optimal management to this subgroup of trauma patients.;A retrospective analysis was performed on all the admitted adult blunt trauma patients between January 2014 and December *** blunt chest trauma patients with abbreviated injury severity(AIS)<3 for extra-thoracic injuries confirmed with chest X-ray(CXR)and chest CT on admission or during hospitalization were included in the *** AIS is an international scale for grading the severity of anatomic injury following blunt *** outcome variables were occult injuries,change in management,need for surgical procedures,missed injuries,readmission rate,intensive care unit(ICU)and length of hospital stay.;There are 473 patients with blunt chest trauma included in the *** study patients were divided into two groups according to the age range:group 1:289 patients were included and aged 18-64 years;group 2:184 patients were included and aged 65-99 *** patients in group 2 more often required ICU admission(11.4%vs.5.2%),had a longer length of ICU stay(days)(median 11 vs.6,p=0.01),and the length of hospital stay(days)(median 14 vs.6,p=0.04).Injuries identified on chest CT has led to a change of management in 4.4%of young patients in group 1 and in 10.9%of elderly patients in group 2 with initially normal *** CT resulted in a change of management in 12.8%of young patients in group 1 and in 25.7%of elderly patients in group 2 with initially abnormal CXR.;Chest CT led to a change of management in a substantial proportion of elderly ***,we recommend chest CT as a first-line imaging modality in patients aged over 65 years with isolated b

How do family doctors choose their own family doctor?

Background and objectives: The medical care that doctors receive is different than that of individuals who are not in the medical profession. The objective was to assess how family doctors in the Negev region chose their own doctors. Methods: 103 family doctors in the southern region of Israel completed a self-administered, anonymous questionnaire that included sociodemographic data and how doctors choose their own doctors. Results: The study population included 103 family doctors with a mean age of 44.7±9.8, of them 65 women (63.1%). Most of the participants (69.9%) were born in the former Soviet Union and completed their medical studies there (71.8%). Thirty two (31.4%) were specialists in family medicine and 42 (41.2%) were residents in family medicine. For most of the participants the gender and age of their treating physician were not important (74.8% and 63.1%, respectively). The treating physician’s level of expertise was very important to 87.4%. Only half consulted a colleague before choosing a physician. Their personal connection to the treating physician was very important to 46 (44.7%). Female doctors were more likely to choose a female physician com-pared to males (P=0.025). Residents were more likely to consult a colleague than specialists before choosing a treating physician (P=0.023). Female doctors are more likely than male to care for themselves both for chronic and acute conditions. Conclusions: Choosing a treating physician is a subjective process with each doctor having individual requirements and ex-pectations. The factors that most influenced the choice of treating physician were professional skills and specialization.

Tumor progression and metastasis are the major causes of death among cancer associated *** cells acquire features of migration and invasion and usually undergo epithelia-mesenchymal transition(EMT).Acquirement of these various hallmarks rely on different cellular pathways,including TGF-βand Wnt ***,we reported that WW domain-containing oxidoreductase(WWOX)acts as a tumor suppressor and has anti-metastatic activities involving regulation of several key microRNAs(miRNAs)in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC).Here,we report that WWOX restoration in highly metastatic MDA-MB435S cancer cells alters mRNA expression profiles;further,WWOX interacts with various proteins to exert its tumor suppressor *** alignment and analysis of gene and miRNA expression in these cells revealed profound changes in cellular pathways mediating adhesion,invasion and *** further demonstrate that WWOX,through regulation of miR-146a levels,regulates SMAD3,which is a member of the TGF-βsignaling ***,proteomic analysis of WWOX partners revealed regulation of the Wnt-signaling activation through physical interaction with ***,these findings underscore a significant role for WWOX in antagonizing metastasis,further highlighting its role and therapeutic potential in suppressing tumor progression.

Georgia has been the country of vines and wine since ancient times, and historically vine growing and wine making has performed the function of one of the leading branches of economy. The diverse and rich information about growing vines and producing wine in Georgia can be found in historical and modem scientific literatures as well. Javakhishvili reviewed 413 vine species from the ancient period in his work：＂Economic History of Georgia＂. Nowadays there are more than 420 species in Georgia or 2.5% of the whole world assortment, from which 27 are for wine, 14 edible and 41 standard species. According to the ecological and economic conditions, Georgia is divided into 11 main regions from the viewpoint of specialization and concentration of vine growing, of which Kakheti, Kartli, Imereti, Racha and Lechkhumi are the most important regions. All these regions are both producers and users of grapes and wine. The climate of Kakheti is favorable to develop the vine industry here. They are： Rkatsiteli, Saperavi, Mtsvane, Kabeme and Khikhvi. Kakheti gives more than half of branded wines of the republic. Fifty-four percent of vineyards of the country are placed, and 65%-68% of total wines in Georgia are produced in Kakheti.
