ZnO Films Deposited on Porous Silicon by DC Sputtering

ZnO is now a fascinating semiconductor oxide material for light emission or transparent electronic conductors. We deposited ZnO films on porous silicon, which is known as a light emitting material based on silicon, by means of a direct current sputtering technique. The deposition was performed at room temperature, and the samples were annealed afterwards to improve the ZnO crystalline quality. The discussion to compare our results with that formed on Si wafer, reveals that the ZnO on porous silicon has the better crystalline quality in the scope of an X-ray diffraction measurement.

ZnO films were deposited on glass substrates by means of a metal organic decomposition (MOD) method. We investigated the effect of annealing temperature, time and the number of laminated layers on the film structure on the basis of X-ray diffraction measurements. We found the optimum conditions of the temperature and the time to be 600°C and 40 minutes for the preparation, respectively. In addition, the layer-by-layer forming was not found to degrade the film from viewpoint of X-ray line width.

BACKGROUND Recent improvements in the prognosis of patients with esophageal cancer have led to the increased occurrence of gastric tube cancer(GTC)in the reconstructed gastric ***,there are few reports on the treatment results of endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)for *** To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ESD for GTC after esophagectomy in a multicenter *** We retrospectively investigated 48 GTC lesions in 38 consecutive patients with GTC in the reconstructed gastric tube after esophagectomy who had undergone ESD between January 2005 and December 2019 at 8 institutions participating in the Okayama Gut Study *** clinical indications of ESD for early gastric cancer were similarly applied for GTC after *** specimens were evaluated in 2-mm slices according to the Japanese Classification of Gastric Carcinoma with curability assessments divided into curative and non-curative resection based on the Gastric Cancer Treatment *** characteristics,treatment results,clinical course,and treatment outcomes were *** The median age of patients was 71.5 years(range,57-84years),and there were 34 men and 4 *** median observation period after ESD was 884 d(range,8-4040 d).The median procedure time was 81 min(range,29-334 min),the en bloc resection rate was 91.7%(44/48),and the curative resection rate was 79%(38/48).Complications during ESD were seen in 4%(2/48)of case,and those after ESD were seen in 10%(5/48)of *** survival rate at 5 years was 59.5%.During the observation period after ESD,10 patients died of other *** there were differences in the procedure time between institutions,a multivariate analysis showed that tumor size was the only factor associated with prolonged procedure *** ESD for GTC after esophagectomy was shown to be safe and effective.

＜正＞ We have successfully prepared Au nanoparticles by the sonochemically reducing Au（III） ions and immobilized them on the surface of magnetic γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles. Au particles with average diameter of about 10 nm were homogeneously dispersed on the surface of γ-Fe2O3 （average diameter : 26 nm） without-aggregation. The number of the Au nanoparticles supported on each γ-Fe2O3 particle was controlled by changing the relative amounts of Au（III） ions and γ-Fe2O3 *** nanoparticles are known to selectively adsorb the molecules having sulfur. Aiming at the uses for magnetic carriers of specific biomolecules, we employed prepared composite nanoparticles for selective separation of biomolecules and estimated their adsorption properties. The composite nanoparticles exhibited a high affinity with glutathione, a tripeptide with mercapto group, so that separation and manipulation of glutathione in aqueous solutions could be performed by applying an external magnetic field. Magnetic separations of amino acids were also investigated. Composite nanoparticles were mixed with amino acid standard solution containing 17 kinds of amino acids and their magnetic separations were carried out by applying an external magnetic field. It was found that adsorption amounts of methionine and cystine, containing internal sulfur were larger than other amino acids. The adsorbed amounts of sulfur containing amino acids increased with relative amount of Au in the composite *** results suggest that the present composite nanoparticles can be utilized as a magnetic carrier for drug delivery system or separation of specific biomolecules, such as SNPs （single nucleotide polymorphisms）.

The oxidative dehydrogenation of isobutane to isobutene was examined for the use in the preparation of FSM-16 and related compounds doped by chromium with expectations that a yield of isobutene of greater than 8% could be achieved. The activity depended on the molding procedure of the catalyst and the doping method of the chromium species. In the present study, 8.8% and 8.3% of the yield of isobutene were obtained at 0.75 h and 6 h on-stream for the catalyst （Cr-loading; 6.2 wt.%） molded using wet treatment hut not pressurization treatment, in which the chromium species were directly added into the aqueous solution containing raw FSM-16 （hydrated sodium silicate powder） at an initial stage of the catalyst preparation. The structure information was based on XRD （X-ray diffraction）, the specific surface area was determined using a conventional BET （Brunauer-Emmett-Teller） nitrogen adsorption and the loading of chromium was estimated using ICP （inductively coupled plasma）. All those parameters combined with the molding method indicated that the catalytic activity was more influenced by the loading of chromium into bulk but not on surface of the catalyst rather than by the hexagonal structure of FSM-16 and the surface area.

Various hepato-biliary complications are an increased incidence in patients with inflammatory bowel disease,and portal bacteremia is well documented in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC). However, few reports mention UC in association with liver abscesses. Recently, there are several reports describing cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in association with disease exacerbation and steroid refractoriness in patients with UC. Here we present a case of refractory UC accompanied with multiple liver abscesses and CMV colitis. The patient, a 72-year-old male, with a five-year history of repeated admissions to our hospital for UC, presented with an exacerbation of his *** performed on admission suggested that his UC was exacerbated, then he was given prednisolone and mesalazine orally, and betamethasone ***, he had exacerbated symptoms. Repeat sigmoidoscopy revealed multiple longitudinal ulcers and pseudopolyps in the rectosigmoid colon. Although immunohistochemical staining of biopsy specimens and the serum testing for antigenemia were negative on admission and after the repeat sigmoidoscopy, they became histologically positive for CMV. Nonetheless, the patient developed spiking fevers, soon after ganciclovir was administered. Laboratory studies revealed an increased white cell count with left shift, and Enterococcus fecalis grew in blood cultures. An abdominal computed tomography (CT) scan was obtained and the diagnosis of liver abscesses associated with UC was made, based on CT results. The hepatic abscesses were successfully treated with intravenous meropenem for 6 wk, without further percutaneous drainage. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of multiple liver abscesses that develop during UC exacerbation complicated by CMV colitis.
