Twisting two layers into a magic angle(MA) of ~1.1°is found essential to create low energy flat bands and the resulting correlated insulating,superconducting,and magnetic phases in twisted bilayer graphene(TBG).While most of previous works focus on revealing these emergent states in MA-TBG,a study of the twist angle dependence,which helps to map an evolution of these phases,is yet less ***,we report a magnetotransport study on one non-magic angle TBG device,whose twist angle θ changes from 1.25° at one end to 1.43°at the *** θ=1.25° we observe an emergence of topological insulating states at hole side with a sequence of Chern number |C|=4-|v|,where v is the number of electrons(holes) in moire unite *** θ> 1.25°,the Chern insulator from flat band disappears and evolves into fractal Hofstadter butterfly quantum Hall insulator where magnetic flux in one moire unite cell *** observations will stimulate further theoretical and experimental investigations on the relationship between electron interactions and non-trivial band topology.

Direct synthesis of high-quality perovskite nanocrystals on a flexible substrate and deterministic transfer

Solid-state perovskite nanocrystals are promising coherent light sources, as there is optical feedback within the crystal structure. In order to utilize the high performance of perovskites for on-chip applications, or observe new physical phenomena, these crystals must be integrated with pre-fabricated electronic or photonic structures. However, the material's fragility has made the deterministic transfer a great challenge thus far. Here, we report the first deterministic transfer of perovskite nanocrystals with sub-micron accuracy. Cesium lead halide(CsPbI_3) nanocrystals were directly synthesized on flexible polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) stamps via chemical vapor deposition(CVD) and subsequently transferred onto arbitrary substrates/structures. We demonstrated the transfer of a CsPbI_3 crystalline nanoplate(NP)onto an 8 mm fiber core and achieved single-mode whispering gallery mode lasing. Our method can be extended to a variety of other arbitrary substrates(e.g., electrodes, photonic structures, micromechanical systems), laying the foundations for previously unattainable opportunities in perovskites-based devices.

Efficacy and safety of telaprevir- and simeprevir-based triple therapies for older patients with chronic hepatitis C

AIMTo evaluate and compare the efficacy and safety of telaprevir (TVR)-and simeprevir (SMV)-based triple therapies in elderly patients, specifically patients aged 66 years or older. METHODSThe present study enrolled 112 and 76 Japanese patients with chronic hepatitis C virus genotype 1b infection who were treated with a 12-wk TVR-based or SMV-based triple therapy, respectively, followed by a dual therapy that included pegylated interferon α and ribavirin (RBV) for 12 wk. The patients were categorized into two groups according to age as follows: A younger group of patients aged ≤ 65 years old and an older group of patients aged > 65 years old. Among the patients treated with TVR-based triple therapy, 34 patients were included in the older group. The median ages were 56 years (range: 28-65 years) in the younger group and 69 years (range: 66-81 years) in the older group. Among the patients treated with SMV-based triple therapy, 39 patients were included in the older group. The median ages were 59 years (range: 36-65 years) in the younger group and 71 years (range: 66-86 years) in the older group. The clinical, biochemical and virological data were analyzed before and during treatment. RESULTSAmong the patients treated with the TVR-based triple therapy, no significant difference in the sustained virological response (SVR) was found between the younger (80.8%) and older (88.2%) groups. The SVR rates for patients with the interleukin 28B (IL28B) (rs8099917) TG/GG-genotypes (73.9% and 60.0% in the younger and older groups, respectively) were significantly lower than for patients with the IL28B TT-genotype (86.3% and 92.9%, respectively). The cumulative exposure to RBV for the entire 24-wk treatment period (as a percentage of the target dose) was significantly higher in the younger group than in the older group (91.7% vs 66.7%, respectively, P vs 81.9%, respectively). AIM:To elucidate the colonoscopic features of serrated lesions of the colorectum using magnifying ***:Broad division of serrated lesions of the colorectum into hyperplastic polyps(HPs),traditional serrated adenomas(TSAs),and sessile serrated adenomas/polyps(SSA/Ps) has been proposed on the basis of recent molecular biological ***,few reports have examined the colonoscopic features of these divisions,including magnified colonoscopic *** study examined 118 lesions excised in our hospital as suspected serrated lesions after magnified observation between January 2008 and September *** characteristics(sex,age),conventional colonoscopic findings(location,size,morphology,color,mucin) and magnified colonoscopic findings(pit pattern diagnosis) were interpreted by five colonoscopists with experience in over 1000 colonoscopies,and were compared with histopathological *** pit patterns were categorized according to Kudo's classification,but a more detailed investigation was also performed using the subclassification [type Ⅱ-Open(type Ⅱ-O),type Ⅱ-Long(type Ⅱ-L),or type Ⅳ-Serrated(type Ⅳ-S)] proposed by Kimura T and Yamano ***:Lesions comprised 23 HPs(23/118:19.5%),39 TSAs(39/118:33.1%:with cancer in one case),50 SSA/Ps(50/118:42.4%:complicated with cancer in three cases),and six others(6/118:5.1%).We excluded six others,including three regular adenomas,one hamartoma,one inflammatory polyp,and one juvenile polyp for further *** colonoscopy showed that SSA/Ps were characterized as larger in diameter than TSAs and HPs(SSA/P vs HP,13.62 ± 8.62 mm vs 7.74 ± 3.24 mm,P < 0.001;SSA/Ps vs TSA,13.62 ± 8.62 mm vs 9.89 ± 5.73 mm,P < 0.01);common in the right side of the colon [HPs,30.4%(7/23):TSAs,20.5%(8/39):SSA/P,84.0%(42/50),P < 0.001];flat-elevated lesion [HPs,30.4%(7/23):TSAs,5.1%(2/39):SSA/Ps,90.0%(45/50),P < 0.001];normal-colored or pale imucosa [HPs,34.8%(8/23):TSAs,10.3%(4/39):SSA/Ps,80%(40/50),P < 0.00

Measurement of Ion Cyclotron Emissions by Using High-Frequency Magnetic Probes in the LHD

Two pairs of high-frequency magnetic probes were installed in the Large Helical Device （LHD）. During the injection of a perpendicular neutral beam, ion cyclotron emissions （ICEs） with the fundamental frequency corresponding to the ion cyclotron frequency at the plasma edge were detected, which are the same type of ICE as measured with the former spare ion cyclotron range of frequencies （ICRF） heating antennas. This type of ICE was further investigated with regard to the phase and intensity of signals. Another type of ICE was found in the LHD, and these ICEs were synchronized with bursts of toroidicity induced Alfv^n eigenmodes （TAE） and the rise of intensity of lost ion flux. Therefore the source of these ICEs was thought to be the particles transferred from the core to the outer region of plasma by the TAE bursts. The frequency of ICEs induced by the TAE bursts increases linearly with the magnetic field strength, since the ion cyclotron frequency increases with the magnetic field strength.

Van der Waals(vdW)assembly of two-dimensional materials has long been recognized as a powerful tool for creating unique systems with properties that cannot be found in natural compounds[Nature 499,419(2013)].However,among the variety of vdW heterostructures and their various properties,only a few have revealed metallic and ferroelectric behaviour signatures[***.5,eaax5080(2019);Nature 560,336(2018)].Here we show ferroelectric semimetal made of double-gated double-layer graphene separated by an atomically thin crystal of hexagonal boron *** structure demonstrates high room temperature mobility of the order of 10 m2·V^(−1)·s^(−1) and exhibits ambipolar switching in response to the external electric *** observed hysteresis is reversible and persists above room *** fabrication method expands the family of ferroelectric vdW compounds and offers a promising route for developing novel phase-changing devices.A possible microscopic model of ferroelectricity is discussed.

Reservoir computing has been considered as a promising intelligent computing paradigm for effectively processing complex temporal *** tunable and reproducible dynamics in the single electronic device have been desired to implement the “reservoir” and the “readout” layer of reservoir computing ***-dimensional moiré materials,with an artificial lattice constant many times larger than the atomic length scale,are one type of most studied artificial quantum materials in community of material science and condensed-matter physics over the past *** materials are featured with gate-tunable periodic potential and electronic correlation,thus varying the electric field allows the electrons in the moiré potential per unit cell to exhibit distinct and reproducible dynamics,showing great promise in robust reservoir ***,we report that a moiré synaptic transistor can be used to implement the reservoir computing system with a homogeneous reservoir-readout *** synaptic transistor is fabricated based on an h-BN/bilayer graphene/h-BN moiré heterostructure,exhibiting ferroelectricity-like hysteretic gate voltage dependence of *** the magnitude of the gate voltage enables the moiré transistor to switch between long-term memory and shortterm memory with nonlinear *** employing the short-and long-term memories as the reservoir nodes and weights of the readout layer,respectively,we construct a full-moiré physical neural network and demonstrate that the classification accuracy of 90.8% can be achieved for the MNIST(Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology) handwritten digits *** work would pave the way towards the development of neuromorphic computing based on moiré materials.
