Eighty sorts of herbs were fermented by Lactobaccilli (f-ESH). This material was proved by as safe in animal safety experiment. This work was aimed to revise the traditional way of hot water extraction to the fermentation, in order to use up the original material and searching new activity as well. We tried to prove the new activity by fermentation for immune-competent cells in the host that administrated both of original remedy and the new fermented sample. In rodents, immune-compromised host was prepared with cancer chemotherapeutic agent. Our observations showed that the antigen stimulated animal increased the antibody producing cell for heterologous erythrocyte by compromised host by f-ESH. Moreover, by administration of f-ESH to immno-suppressed hosts, these samples regulated lymphocyte in number and functions, macrophage activities, and regulating anti-oxidative activity by phagocytic cells. The anti-oxidative assay was carried out ex-vivo system by peritoneal excaudate cell that we propose as suitable system for evaluating antioxidative assay. With these evidences, the original COF only augmented the level of lymphocytes in number, while f-ESH regulated the ratio of granulocytes and lymphocyte. In clinical study with 20 healthy volunteers, granulocyte and lymphocyte ratio was also resulted as neutral in peripheral white blood cells, 1, 2 and 3 weeks after the administration of f-ESH. We discussed the significance and mechanism of cleving complement components Fb by f-ESH in this text. Fb. The new cleavage of complement was directly evident by immune-electrophoretic method. In conclusion, this modification of food materials introduced new style of food intake resulted in the significant regulation such as antibody producing cells and anti-oxidative activity for phagocytic cells comparing traditional processing by hot water extraction.

Phagocytic cells are known as multi potent activities for its ontogenical and phylogenetical aspect. One of the strike actions is super oxide anion known as critical role of the cell when microorganisms invade inside the cytoplasm. This agent sometimes triggered as a serious factor in the site of inflammation. There are many papers which concerned newly accessed anti-oxidative substances. However, many reports only focused on the molecular basis in vitro, suggesting vin rouge for their rich content of polyphonol rather than vin blank with a French paradox. We had been suggested that the key factor for oxidative stress needs to be discussed first for immunological standpoint, such as in phagocytic cell in situ. With this assay system in rodent macrophage, SO level was about the same for both groups administered vin blank as well as vin rouge.

A decline in the immunopotential of the host plays acritical factor(s) in the occurrence of infections with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) or microorganisms by opportunistic infection. In such an infection, no way out for therapeutic concept, therefore bi-directional trial was the final choice. So we selected aformula, Dang Gui Liu Huang Tang (dLHT), which could both augmentimmune factorsin host and exert bacteriostatic effect. We sought to break through the epidemic by MRSA especially in elderly patient, by the fundamental and clinical trial by employing minor TCM, characterizing bidirectional ability of the decoction by western methods. Animal Experiment: Mitomycin-C (MMC)-treated mice with or without the infection of MRSA were made. The experimental design was made up to examine the bacteriostatic action as well as the immunopo-tentiating bias of the promising Chinese herbal medicine, dLHT, which was first proved for its immune potentiating activities as well as their sensitivity to antibiotics, but not direct aseptic effect was clear for MRSA. Both basic and clinical data showed that this formula was effective on repelling from the infectious focus after the treatment of MRSA infection. After the administration of dLHT, the number of white blood cells in MMC-treated mice recovered to 80% of the normal level. In addition, the phagocytic activity of macrophages increased to 70% in the dLHT-treated group, while that of the non-treated group was only 20%. The bactericidal activity also recovered to the level close to the normal value by dLHT. The ratio of neutrophils in the dLHT-administered group increased to 2.2% (normal mice, 2.6%), whereas that in the non-terated group was only 0.5%. The bacterial count in the liver of MRSA-challenged mice reached the peak at six hours after the challenge in both dLHT-treated and non-treated mice. Boundary Conditions for Momentum and Vorticity at an Interface between Two Fluids

Boundary conditions for momentum and vorticity have been precisely derived, paying attention to the physical meaning of each mathematical expression of terms rigorously obtained from the basic equations: Navier-Stokes equation and the equation of vorticity transport. It has been shown first that a contribution of fluid molecules crossing over a conceptual surface moving with fluid velocity due to their fluctuating motion is essentially important to understanding transport phenomena of momentum and vorticity. A notion of surface layers, which are thin layers at both sides of an interface, has been introduced next to elucidate the transporting mechanism of momentum and vorticity from one phase to the other at an interface through which no fluid molecules are crossing over. A fact that a size of δV, in which reliable values of density, momentum, and velocity of fluid are respectively defined as a volume-averaged mass of fluid molecules, a volume-averaged momentum of fluid molecules and a mass-averaged velocity of fluid molecules, is not infinitesimal but finite has been one of the key factors leading to the boundary conditions for vorticity at an interface between two fluids. The most distinguished characteristics of the boundary conditions derived here are the zero-value conditions for a normal component of momentum flux and tangential components of vorticity flux, at an interface.

Availability of the Boundary Condition for Vorticity

By applying a boundary condition for vorticity [1] in addition to that for velocity, a velocity distribution on a flat plate set in a parallel homogeneous flow has been numerically obtained through a one-way calculation from surface to infinity, without the “matching” procedure between an analysis from surface to infinity and that from infinity to surface. The numerical results obtained were in excellent agreement with those by Howarth [2]. The usage of the boundary condition for vorticity has raised the accuracy of velocity distribution near a plate’s surface and made it possible to realize the one-way calculation from surface to infinity.

Hayabusa2 is a Japanese sample return mission from the near-Earth asteroid *** Hayabusa2 spacecraft was launched on December 3,2014,and reached the asteroid on June 27,*** remained there until November 13,2019 for in situ observation and soil sample collection and will return to the Earth in November or December *** its stay at the asteroid,Hayabusa2 performed descent operations 16 *** paper presents an overview of a guidance,navigation,and control method used in such descent *** method consists of on-board and on-ground guidance systems to control the spacecraft and an image-based navigation technique that uses a shape model and ground control points of the *** results in the first touchdown operation are shown as an example,which demonstrate that the method showed a good performance overall and contributed to the success of the mission.

Autofluorescence imaging endoscopy for identifi cation and assessment of inflammatory ulcerative colitis

AIM:To validate the clinical relevance of autofluores-cence imaging(AFI)endoscopy for the assessment of inflammatory ulcerative colitis(UC).METHODS:A total of 572 endoscopic images were se-lected from 42 UC patients:286 taken with white light imaging(WLI)and 286 with AFI from the same *** images were assessed for overall mucosal inflammation according to Mayo endoscopic subscore(MES),and for seven characteristic endoscopic ***,AFI photographs were scored according to relative abundance of red,green and blue color com-ponents within each image based on an RGB additive color *** and AFI endoscopic scores from the same sites were *** evaluation of biopsies was according to the Riley ***:Relative to red(r=0.52,P<0.01)or blue(r=0.56,P<0.01)color component,the green color component of AFI(r=-0.62,P<0.01)corresponded more closely with mucosal inflammation *** were signif icant differences in green color components between MES-0(0.396±0.043)and MES-1(0.340± 0.035)(P<0.01),and between MES-1 and ≥ MES-2(0.318±0.037)(P<0.01).The WLI scores for "vascu-lar patterns"(r=-0.65,P<0.01),"edema"(r=-0.62,P<0.01),histology scores for "polymorphonuclear cells in the lamina propria"(r=-0.51,P<0.01)and "crypt architectural irregularities"(r=-0.51,P<0.01)showed correlation with the green color component of *** were significant differences in green color components between limited(0.399± 0.042)and extensive(0.375±0.044)(P=0.014)polymorpho-nuclear cell inf iltration within *** the severity of the mucosal inflammation increased,the green color component of AFI *** AFI green color com-ponent was well correlated with the characteristic en-doscopic and histological inflammatory features of ***:AFI has application in detecting inflammatory lesions,including microscopic activity in the co-lonic mucosa of UC patients,based on the green color component of images.

A white opaque substance-positive gastric hyperplastic polyp with dysplasia

The endoscopic findings of gastric hyperplastic polyps (HPs) with dysplasia have not been well-defined, and the clinical significance of these lesions, including their malignant potential, is unclear. In this report, we describe a case of a white opaque substance (WOS)positive gastric HP with dysplasia. A 76-year-old woman was referred to our hospital for endoscopic resection of a gastric HP. Upper endoscopy revealed a 25-mm whitish and reddish polypoid lesion on the greater curvature in the lower third of the stomach. The whitish part was diagnosed as a WOS using conventional and magnifying endoscopy with narrow band imaging. An examination of the biopsy specimen indicated that the lesion was a typical gastric HP. However, because of its color and the presence of a WOS, we suspected that this lesion was an atypical gastric HP. Therefore, we performed a polypectomy. Histopathologically, diffuse lowto high-grade dysplasia was found on the surface of the polyp. We performed immunohistochemical staining using a monoclonal antibody specific for adipophilin as a marker of lipid droplets (LDs). LDs were detected in approximately all of the neoplastic cells, especially in the surface epithelium of the intervening apical parts and were located in the subnuclear cytoplasm of the neoplastic cells. According to endoscopic and histopathological findings, the WOS-positive epithelium indicated dysplasia of the gastrointestinal phenotype, which could absorb lipids. The presence of a WOS in a gastric HP may be considered an endoscopic finding that is predictive of the neoplastic transformation of a gastric HP. We suggest that a WOS-positive gastric HP should be resected endoscopically to investigate its neoplastic transformation.
